Half a year ago i was addicted to League of Legends, where i literally skipped school continuesly just to sit and play all day. This video made me see that i was addicted and i honestly cant thank you enough. I still play LoL, but now i moved to a different school, and everything is going great.

Sure by all means, you shouldnt let ANY hobby/job ruin other parts of your life (unless u want that) you should just keep it at a level that suits you, I know people who play all day ,but that is all they want, i know people who live of it, and love it, i know people who almost dont play any at all, and likes it that way. But yes, its about having fun, for the most part, unless you go PRO with it, but you shouldnt let it fuck up real life friends, school, family etc.

I used to be the same. My grades never dropped, but I would play games until late night then do my homework. I started playing games before I started to hang with friends outside of school so that helped me get over playing 7 hours a day. Being called a no life and being tenth prestige in almost all of the cods was annoying and I knew I had to stop. Now, I only play weekends and it has gotten so boring that i was considering selling my xbox. Now I have the right of calling people no lives! ;)
i find youtube and twiiter more addictive than the game itself, im getting better slowly but i used to watch vids for like 2hours and read peoples tweets for about 30 mins

Video games definitely fall into that category: achieving goals, beating level bosses, beating someone else's score, etc, are such rewards. They're psychological. Addiction is psychological. It's nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about; it's human nature. It's just that some of us are affected more than others.

Now, he plays a maximum of two hours a day and does so on free will. I still play alot of PC gaming, but I go out and do shit more than this. Its fucked up.

I used to play about 4-5 hours a day but what you do is put a family timer on your xbox for 2-3 hours and find other things to fill your mornings and afternoons so you can play at like 8-11 then go to bed.
I completely agree with you. I had about the same time period of about a year where I would make CoD my priority and everything else went down social life, school etc.I was only happy when playing video games and didn't realise I was unhappy at other times because of them.I kept on denying that I was addicted and then one day I chose to try and stop and play less. It was really difficult for the first couple of days, but it got better.If you think you're addicted do what Bobby says its worth it.
@TheDarksem Yes, I tried too quit multiple times but within 2-3 days I was back on. Too stop myself being addicted I had to go 'cold turkey' and managed to stay away from it for about 3 months the longer you go the easier it gets. I still play Xbox now but it's a much healthier level probably only once or twice a week and as soon as I get frustrated I stop playing, As with any addiction the more you tries you have at stopping the easier it gets.

Then I started going up town with my mates and it was soooooo worth cutting down on the gaming because when you are an adult and have a job that's all you'll do . i see it like this, if you enjoy it, do it. i used to be addicted to an online PC game called runescape when i was 8-10. i somewhat regret it, but im proud that i did what i wanted and enjoyed it at the time. as long as you eventually quit, it really dosent matter.

I think that since gaming isn't really rewarding, it doesn't matter how much fun it is, you don't get anything so you have to "compensate" by playing all the time.
When I first got me2 I was addicted and didnt go anywhere with friends when they asked me but I have now cone over this and I smoked weed with friends and go cinema with my girlfriend all the time

Had the same problem about 1.5year ago, had a bunch of lads who I was playing competitive CoD4 on PC with. And the thing is, like you said, you wont notice it and you're in denial. Till you're out of 'the zone' and can find the right balance.
I was basically additced to runescape when I was 12, been playing for over a year and I never went out with my friends or did anything, I was almost isolated from everyone apart from school. One day I decided It was enough, gave my account to the first person I saw so I wouldnt remember their name and never played it again since :)

i see it like this, if you enjoy it, do it. i used to be addicted to an online PC game called runescape when i was 8-10. i somewhat regret it, but im proud that i did what i wanted and enjoyed it at the time. as long as you eventually quit, it really dosent matter.

i was definetely addicted to mw2 when it first came out because it was my first cod and i was amazed by it and then started learning bout the cod community and quickscoping which made me even more addicted but i didn't play like 8 hours, maybe bout 5 hours. i play football ad b ball since i was 9

It's wierd how so many people can feel the same way, I was addicted through the cod 4 and waw days, thank god I'm not anymore as it just fucks up your social life. Its gd to kno u and other people have stopped as well and can now get on with reality!

I think that since gaming isn't really rewarding, it doesn't matter how much fun it is, you don't get anything so you have to "compensate" by playing all the time.

@ImCwnr Wow i was going to say that to bobby but just thought id reply to you because he will probably see both of these at the same time as well not, Im 14 as well and for the past year and a half iv'e done the same neglecting my friends for xbox/COD. Lately iv'e been getting depressed and bobby has just made me realise :P Thanks Bobby! Im going to stop playing to much cod and spend time with my friends and go to town with my mates. Had the same problem about 1.5year ago, had a bunch of lads who I was playing competitive CoD4 on PC with. And the thing is, like you said, you wont notice it and you're in denial. Till you're out of 'the zone' and can find the right balance.

I was basically additced to runescape when I was 12, been playing for over a year and I never went out with my friends or did anything, I was almost isolated from everyone apart from school. One day I decided It was enough, gave my account to the first person I saw so I wouldnt remember their name and never played it again since :)
