@onarvaez Thanks for the comment - soundtrack was from the YouTube free audios. I think it was one of the acoustic tracks by Track One Recordings. Enjoy!
I have great respect for that sport. Very tough you are talking about average 75 miles and up per day, that is really nasty sport. I love when they come to sprint and kill for speed is awesome sport.
ha! Yes...I watched thise guys racing in the mountains yesterday and they went to hell and back for over 5 hours...and that's just 1 day of the tour...amazing!
ultimate endurance? not really....RAAM has it beat by a long shot. soloist cover 3027 miles in 11-13 days...Teams in 6 days. but i say the Tour is epic for damn sure. RAAM - Race Across America.
@kidd353 I wouldn't say "by a long shot", since the winner of this years RAAM won with an average of around 13 miles per hour, and contador's average at "le tour de France" was much higher ( 25 miles / hour ). It is easier to ride all day if you don't push hard. ( because an average of 13 miles/hour isn't that astonishing)... But hey, that's my opinion....
@yantheman72 it depends on the terrain doesn't it. I mean if you're climbing for 60% of the time it's obviously going to affect speed. The RAAM is hard in it's own right as the competitors have v.little sleep compared to the TdF cyclists who get a nights sleep. In my opinion we can't compare the two when it comes to saying what's really ultimate enduranceas Tdf cyclists are used to doing 25mph.
I think not, if you look closely you'll see Lance was cutting it a little fine on that corner and was rididing too close to the spectators. This wasn't a portion of the course where they were swamping the road. The spectators were right at the extremity of the tarmac. I think it was a small child waving a freebie bag that lance clipped , but look again lance, out of the saddle andclimbing letshimself get too close.
LANCE wil never be in the podium again.he should be realistic.the attitude he showed on the TDF this year is so disgusting.he wants to win the tour in anyway he can . he attacked AC even in the media to no avail. With Contador around he has very little chance of winning.even in his prime he cant beat Contador.
Lance has his own team now,Alberto is no superman. The 2 will meet in the mountains in 2010 and and the better man will come out on top,my bet it will be Lance.
jason macintyre bless him ,stopped in his prime would probably have been the best this country has seen for a long time. the man was phenomenal! here,s to his wife and family
:58... That was Roger Riviere, wasn't it? He crashed out and broke his back or something, I used to have one of his branded bikes back in the 70's.. poor bugger
Lance is great. He had an awesome tour. But next year he will be that much older...two months shy of 39. Andy Schleck (only 24) will be surrounded by a great team with his brother, and Contador (26) will still be around...I don't see how Lance can possibly win. He will most likely get third again...maybe 2nd. I wish him well but he can't win. In my opinion, his main motivation right now is the Livestrong brand and cancer awareness. I'm sure deep down he knows that he can not win.
It will be a very different race next year... Armstrong will be leading the RadioShack Team; meaning that his team will be supporting him and he will not have to compete within the team for a leadership position with Contador... racing with the whole team behind him I believe Lance will finish better than third... He can only hope that his team is stronger than Contador's because that is his only chance at winning his 8th; otherwise he finishes a close second at 39yrs old, not too shabby!

@Truth666 he won't be caught. he has always been generous to the UCI and now he's even popular in france. even when some lab found something, the UCI sent a lawyer to help him. cycling simply cannot afford to lose it's biggest hero and the UCI understands that.
if he doesn't the press will roast him....even second place isn't enough. people wil still critisize...

Well done! This is a touching video tribute to these super athletes! They seem to be able to suffer far more than any other sports people. The organizers pile on the pain by making tough races, and these guys just get on their bikes and do their job!

Could you fuckers please get off the road..for the love of God! You guys are so damn annoying...I got my license 3 weeks ago and I already feel like running you asshole bikers over all the time!
This is tantamount to an obsessive disorder often seen in people with addictive personalities. Marathon runners, cyclists, gym rats.....it's never enough, and you're whole life is predicated on training, exercising, riding; you feel depressed and empty if you miss a ride or are unable to train due to weather. Make no mistake about it; it's an addiction, albeit a healthy one.
You DO know the Tour is only THREE weeks, right?

98% of tdf winners burn out after 1 or 2 tours
AC will not win this year or ever again and lance with the team supporting him will most likely reach atleast 3rd this year maybe better

They come in under UCI limit, mostly. Ballast is added to make them legal. Thats how light they are.
