  • I signed up just so I could post on this wall, and send this video for all to see conlan's dominance. Turnabout's fair play, harma -- I just hope this video finds you well.

    -Your pal,

    Nevin I mean Kevin

  • Live in the past because there is no future. Lucky if you go 6 and 6 in 2011-12. Time for Joe to retire.

  • Watch the entire game for a clinic on bend don't break defense. Stop the run. Play soft man, cover two, zones, keep receivers in front of you and always make the tackle, allowing no yards after the catch. Make the offense run a lot of plays. More plays mathematically means more chances for interceptions. As the field gets shorter, the plays get tougher to execute and you can demoralize and frustrate an offense. Speed and athleticism becomes trumped by execution, strength and physicality.

  • @mongoose704 The end result is you give up a lot of yards but few points. Lots of field goals and very few touchdowns. Ideally you force a lot of turnovers. Other great examples of the bend don't break philosophy include Bo Schembechler's Michigan teams, especially in 1985. The Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl 34.

  • However, if we wanna talk about past accomplishments, I think PSU and Miami really need to bow down to almighty Harvard, Yale, Army, Navy, Princeton, and Pennsylvania. Harvard, Yale, Army, and Princeton are historically the four best football teams of all time, with 28 for Princeton.

  • Anyways, I know A vs B vs C sucks, but it's all we have. However, if you want emperical examples, how about this. Miami runs a similar offense to what Minnesota and Michigan State run. What happened when Penn State played Minnesota? They killed them 20-0. What happened against Michigan State? They killed them 42-14 (PSU's final TD was scored by the backup QB), and both teams were bowl eligible teams. Miami's offense and defense is precisely the kind that Penn State would love to prey on.

  • And if you want to bust on us for talking about the past, you're doing the same, talking about national titles won in the 80s and 90s is just as relavent as our national titles in the 80s. The thing is, Miami has not been anything of note since 2003. 2003 was the end of it all. Your best win since then is in 2009 over an overrated Georgia Tech before they even found their offense to become good enough to be overrated that Iowa held to 155 yards in a not as close as the score 24-14 Orange Bowl.

  • About once a year, Jimmy Johnson wakes up in a cold sweat thinking about the time out in the 2nd half that he never used.

  • i fuckin hate Miami. any time those cocky thugs get rocked i laugh.

I hate the university of miami football team, stupid thugs think they are gods gift to college football. when in reality they are nothing but roaches.

  • Miami got over confident and all that bad karma bit them in the ass in that game. Miami was a better team but Penn State didn't allow Miami to scare them and the 5 interceptions showed the Penn State defense. Still, this loss motivated Miami to be more focused and allowed them to win the national championship the next year.

  • um could beat penn state this year even though they suck when they play crap teams they step it up when they play teams like oklahoma

  • terryturin - cains 'one' 4 more Championships. Really??? Is that the fine Miami edukation talking?

  • terryturin didn't graduate from Miami-he's a Florida crack head.

  • LetzGohea T Answer to you question was MIAMI 33-7 BeatDown At Beaver Sadium...no wonder why the only schedule Temple. Akron, Costal Carolina

  • @terryturin Congratulations on your win over one of the worst PSU teams in history, quarterbacked by Matt Senaca (the first half of that year, we were PITIFUL) with one of your best teams of all time. Newsflash: We scheduled Alabama, Oregon State, and other good teams recently, but I'm sure you're too busy playing powerful Florida A&M to notice. Nice job getting rocked by Wisconsin. And if you want to talk about crime, at least JoePa kicks those players off the team, at Miami it's encouraged.

  • Did Miami beat Penn State 3 out of the last 4 games?

How many Championships have "STATE PENN" sice there fluke over Miami in "86"

If PSU was great this would be hardly mentioned but that's all PSU has. Years later Canes one 4 more Championships...I'll tafe the four more championships instaed of holding on to a team who hasn't one since 86...PSU has had 66 arrests in the past 6 years who's the thugs? befoe commenting look it up.

Watch out for that Power-House Iowa lol!

  • PSU is alot better then miami this year and the last five years probably so let go of the past...its now 2009

    GO PSU!!!

  • Miami refused to let Penn State play in the Orange Bowl in 1947 because they had two African-American players on their roster. They ended up playing SMU in the Cotton Bowl against Doak Walker because of the racist team and coaches at Miami wouldn't play PSU. And Miami pulled a bunch of racist crap on PSU before the Fiesta Bowl in 1986. PSU intercepted Testaverde 5 times in that game, and beat Miami, even with Michael Irvin on that team. It was Testaverde's worst game of his career,

  • haha linebacker u fucked up miami

  • It was soooooooooooo sweeeeeeet cuz jimmy johnson and his team were so friggin cocky. even today jimmy johnson says "we had 3 times the yards they did" so what, Penn St outcoached jimmy by dropping back linebackers to confuse Testaverde, which they did with 5 picks.

  • holy shit i love penn state and hate miami soooo fucking much

  • I think Testaverde just threw another interception lol

  • Please what happened the last time miami played penn state?

  • you cant say squat the game that mattered was the one for all the mables and who won that? who cares if Miami beat penn state in the regular season for the national title penn state won

  • In 2001, yah yah they beat em'. So in 1999 what happened, psu won, 1991,92 miami won , yah yah. 1981 yah yah on halloween.

However remember the only game the average fan will remember between Penn State / Miami will be the 1987 fiesta bowl.

  • Penn state got lucky the big ten had an off year! Watch next year Terrell Pryor is gonna go off.

  • Most overrated player i have seen in a while

  • Yeah, right. We beat the schmuckeyes in the Horseshoe, remember? And in the open field, one on one, the PSU "D" whacked Terrelle and he fumbled. Yeah, he's goin' off-OFF the Field. Maybe under his own power...

  • Conlan played that game on a bad knee. Talk about "manning up"!! This game is still my No. 1 memory of watching a sporting event on TV. Jan. 2, 1987

  • i lived in the same town that he did and i play football for frewsburg our coach who coached him would not let him wear pads during practice cause he would hurt hes teammates and like anthony munoz said he has the hardest head he ever played against

  • Way to live in the past Nittany Lions! We have won thee MNCs since that game. Your team is on the downfall, you are the new Thug U, your coach is out of touch as much as PSU fans are. We already fired our coach two seasons ago and are on our way back . At Miami, not one individual is bigger than the program, which obviously doesn't apply at PSU.

  • Aw...did we hurt your feewings, harma?

A butt kicking will do that!

  • You went 5-6 last season, we went 9-4, who's on the downfall now? Also, our problems aren't any worse than many other major universities have. Joe Paterno does not encourage hooliganism like Jimmy Johnson did, infact he suspended Koroma and Evans. Doesn't sound like JoePa is putting those individuals over the program.

Anyways, Miami's been irrelevant for the past few years, while Penn State is back.

  • Now now I am a PSU fan that goes to Miami and even if you are a Miami fan you must respect that PSU plays a full organized game. We haven't done that since two thousand and four. Til those guys go out and play a full game and we can hold up the four fingers at the end of the third and mean it, don't talk shit on PSU.

  • What has PSU won since 86. Well organized program.

  • @umdynasty Let's see what we've done since 1986. One New York Times national championship, seven top-ten rankings, and since joining the Big Ten conference in 1993, we've had seven seasons with no more than two conference losses. What have you done most recently? You lost to Wisconsin in the Champs Sports bowl. If you want to brag about beating Penn State in 2001, that's pretty sad, your "greatest team ever" routs one of our worst ever teams, nice, nice. It means you need a fluke to beat us.

  • @harma595 Talk about living in the past. What have you done recently? Since 2005, PSU has had three Top-10 finishes, been ranked every year, finished no worse than 9-4, and has won the Big Ten twice, winning a BCS bowl against the ACC champion as well. Now, Miami, here's what you've accomplished since then, your best season was 2009 where you ended your year getting your ass handed to you by the #4 Big Ten team, Wisconsin. It wasn't as close as the 20-14 score suggests.

  • @harma595 Way to live with your head up your butt, harma. PSU has a better winning percentage .691, has played college football longer since 1887, not 1926, had more consensus all-americans 39, and more bowl wins 27. JoePa is better than ANY coach at lame Miami, where they usually leave cause they get their butts kicked or have to move on due to scandal. On every level, PSU's football program outshines Miami, the statistics prove it.

  • Vinnie Interceptaverdie

  • Vinny "Interceptaverdie" won a heisman trophy, how many of those do conlan, whoever that is, have?

  • Linebacker U owned Testaverde 5 INT'S NO TD'S in that game. Just one more example of PSU's DEFENSE shutiing dowm Heisman winners and making them irrelevant in big games. Herschel Walker in '82, Marcus allen in '80, etc., etc. Talk all the Miami smack you want YOU LOST, IDIOT! Case closed!

  • i'm sorry. how many nat'l championships does pu have? lol thought so. Case closed!

  • how many times were they ripped off.

  • @lauddyboi Penn State has four national championships consensus, some consider the 1969 team national champions, the 1994 team is New York Times national champions. So that makes six. And what would have happened this past year, Penn State would have beaten Miami by three touchdowns. After all, you lost to a Wisconsin team that couldnt' handle a Northwestern squad that we beat 34-13. Face it, Miami is a has-been.

  • @MVillani1985 lol if it isnt the old a beat b and b beat c so a would whoop c's ass argument, unfortunately that's not actually true in football so you can take all your woulda coulda shoulda titles and shove em, 5 is more than 4, penn st woulda coulda shoulda had 6? Miami woulda coulda shoulda had about 10 and thats all in the last 3 decades i dont have to go back to the 60s and the last time Miami and Penn st ACTUALLY met on a football field ... well, you know the rest

  • @lauddyboi Regardless of what crap you want to pull, Penn State still has four CONSENSUS national titles, whether you like it or not. And it's no "maybe" that Penn State is 1994 New York Times national champions (also Saragin ratings). The 1969 is the ONLY disputed one, because it is a few minor media groups. Truth is, national titles are all politics anyway. Until there's a playoff it's all bunk. And by the way, you were still destroyed by Wisconsin, good chance PSU would've destroued you too.

  • @MVillani1985 based on what? penn state didnt even play wisconsin last year, but if you still wanna play that stupid team a is better than team b who's better than team c so team a would kick team a's ass crap like an idiot even though penn state didnt even play wisconsin, penn state did however lose to iowa by a larger margin than wisconsin did so how is wisconsin's game against miami last year any kind of measuring stick as to what would happen if miami played penn state?

  • @lauddyboi I'm looking at common opponents. However, you're ignoring the thing about Iowa, they beat EVERYBODY by 1-12 points. PSU led 10-5 deep into the 4th quarter over Iowa BTW, but Iowa led over Wisky for most of the second half, and should have won 23-10 if not for a missed field goal. I'm looking at how each game itself went. However, if you look at A vs B, Temple beat Akron worse than PSU did so PSU should have lost to Temple, but PSU killed Temple 31-6.

  • that was the greatest game ever played by a penn state player

  • Shane was the man, showed Vinny and the Hurricanes what a real defense is. WE ARE PENN STATE!!!

  • I LOVE SHANE!!

  • What have you won since then? Nothing.

  • Know what we call people like you son, SORE LOSER!! Hope your joke canes enjoy sitting home for the holidays this year, while were playing in a BCS bowl. And we do it all with class with guys who actually graduate with degrees and do something with their lives outside of football. Can't say that about your "dynasty" there dude.

  • What have YOU won since then? NOTHING. Nice loss in the Emerald Bowl, by the way. 'Canes suck! Miami is in the (WHAT?????) Emerald Bowl, and Penn State is in the Rose Bowl. Get the difference, MORON? umdynasty? Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

  • what are you talking about? we've won nothing since then? this is 1986... we've won FOUR nat'l titles since then sir. including the 01 team which is considered the greatest college football team of all time. nobody expected this year for us to be nat'l champs so its no biggie but we do expect one before 2011, meanwhile usc will rape pu probably worse than they did ohio st. this is ur first bcs bowl in how long? o yea... EVER.

  • @lauddyboi 2001 miami has never been considered the best team ever. its always been 1995 nebraska. 2001 miami would have gotten crushed by '95 nebraska

  • @bl3HNOOBYdumb which team had more first round draft picks? its not even close

  • @lauddyboi i really dont care that much about who has the most draft picks. it doesnt really mean shit because it doesnt affect college football.
