We dined with a party of ten in Sept. 2006 and 2007. At our 2007 seating they forgot the promised birthday cake and 5 of the 9 dishes were the same as the previous year. When we emailed and asked them to vary the menu, Thomas Keller called us personally and said, "If you don't like what I serve, don't come." We cancelled and will now dine at Gary Danko's in S.F., a much better restaurant. French Laundry is SO not worth what they charge you.
To Respond to Dalejr237's comment, you dont have to have a skillful palate..the idea of chef Thomas keller's french Laundry is to create food that stands out..that has a noticible taste...a different taste to even those who know little about food. The flavor profiles at the Laundry are so different from one another that they stand out like no other.
this is called Modern Haute Cuisine. it is by far so much better than regular everyday food. it is worth every penny. you have to be a skilled eater to enjoy it. and by skilled eater i mean that you have to be able to disect different flavor profiles and be able to compare and contrast between them. take a course and you will know what i mean.
Hope it tasted good, it sort of looks something that came from a diaper, sorry but it does. Fancy food seems like such a waste of money give me meat and 'taters any day
After this they all hit White Castle, extra onions.

It's so expensive you'll won't want to just flush your turds the next day.

french laundry is good, but i think alot of nothern california cuisine is overrated.
the new tasting menu is nice, but the use of some seasonal foliage becomes redundant.
I actually found Per Se to be the nicest, compared to the other two T. Keller ownserhips.

Hmm, I think it's a little tacky to let diners videotape their meal -- what is this, Disneyland?

A calotte is the cap of a ribeye, the tastiest part of the cow in my opinion.

stfu snob. Go sniff your farts and grade/compare it to a list of fine farts you've had over the years.
