@TheGoodDevil7 you dont know much bout this car. Its a track only car and has won first place in its class numerous times throughout the years. It easily hits over 150mph on course and the wing does not cause it to do wheelies. Its fine if you dont like it but at least educate yourself before blabbing on stupidly.
@ThatOneKidThatSkis Umm yeah it is. That spoiler gives him aerodynamics of a minivan, anything over 130 MPH and he'll start doing wheelies. Turning at a higher speed could lift the back end too much and spin him out or even flip.
@TheGoodDevil7 haha, you don't know much about cars do you. If you think hell be wheeling at 130 youre sadly mistaken. Do me a favor and look at the front of the car, see those canards and the HUGE lip/splitter on the voltex bumper, those push the front of the car into the ground, I promise theyre not just for looks (oh wait, you probably have no clue what any of those terms mean.) This is a full fledged race car, nothing on it is "just for looks" all aero is done to improve handling.
@TheGoodDevil7 also you say turning at high speeds could lift the back end to much. You do realize the point of a spoiler is to have the opposite effect as that IE downforece?
@ThatOneKidThatSkis yeah, but maybe you didn't notice the giant space between the trunk and the spoiler. Last time I checked, wind doesn't travel in staright lines....
@TheGoodDevil7 first what does that even mean, second how is that relavant. The reason it sticks up so far is that it get around the air curents cut by the car thus can get into fresh thicker air and thus provide more downforce in turn making the car handle better.
@ThatOneKidThatSkis Holy shit do I have to draw a diagram? When air passes over the car, most of it goes over the spoiler, but some goes through it pushing the spiler upwards The more space you have, the more air gets inbetween. Wind can come from different diferctions and give the large gap ampfies the effect. Like wings on an airplane, air goes over top and under, not just over top.
@TheGoodDevil7 wow, ok Airplanes use areofoils which don't directly provide lift, rather create lower pressure on top of the wing in turn pulling the airplane up. As far as the car wing goes yes air flows under it but because of the angle of the wing the air does not lift up the air pushing on top creates virtually infinetly more downforce than what ever lift if there actually is any that is created. maybe you should draw a diagram then hopefully it will help you understand basic physics.
@ThatOneKidThatSkis hahaha it's funny how even the stupidest little kid can use wikipedia and pretend he knows what he's talking about. Do you even understand half of what you said? Wait, don't answer google it first... Spoilers are called wings for a reason, I used wings as an example to explain how stupid you are, no shit they aren't the same. There isn't so much airflow going under because of the car obstructing the path, therefore it creates more downforce. P.S. Fuck You
@TheGoodDevil7 Its cool that you think I'm a little kid and all, when really I go to Colorado School of Mines for Civil Engineering, but thats beside the point, I'm now trying to understand youre argument, first you say the wing being high will cause more up draft, now youre saying that the wing creates more down force? Also wing is just a colloquial term so its kind of dumb you used that as your example. To answer your question yes, I do know what I'm talking about, however you clearly don't
@TheGoodDevil7 Your a fucking idiot. I just read the entire conversation and you sir are an ignorant dumbass who can't admit that you were wrong. Another thing about the higher spoiler that doesn't have to do with performance is you can actually see out of your rear view mirror. Stock spoiler is right in the middle of it so its pretty much pointless to use most of the time. Maybe YOU should start google wtf your talking about before you open your mouth.
@JudoThugMMA hahahahahahah yup, i'm a fucking idiot. Shut your stupid fucking mouth you retarded car know-it-all wanna-be. That spoiler is just for looks. I doesn't create more downforce than a normal spoiler. I pretty sure normal spoilers don't block that much visibility (Bacause I have one) and there is reason why 99% of spoilers are put in about the same height.
@TheGoodDevil7 Do you have an evo? Probably not with the way your talking. Some spoilers are just for looks, however the stock spoiler on the evo is a fully functioning spoiler creating downforce, it does hurt tops speed slightly but not by much. Oh really only pretty sure? Well when talking with an actual evo owner/driver/racer who knows wtf he is talking about you should be DAMN SURE of what your saying.
@TheGoodDevil7 But of course your right, how could any of us stand up to your intimidating intelligence and brain power. You should run for President because your knowledge might do this country some good *thumbs up*. Fucking Imbecile.
