  • Hi. I'm playing a 14 hole Suzuki SC56

model. Really like this one. Some of this

music I have from various books and

sheet music lying around. This song I

have was actually given to me by a neighbor of mine. So this one I have no

    idea where he got it.

    Thanks for listening,

    Dave

    best wishes Saeed.

  • Hi. Thanks for the kind words. This

    harmonica I'm playing is a Suzuki SC56

14 hole chromatic. I think the quality and

sound of this instrument is very good.

    Thanks for the question.

    Bye now, Dave

  • Greetings from U.K.I liked this very complex melody and you played it very well in different keys.I am trying to learn this one.Excellent.

  • I had a chromatic harmonica from the time I was 8. It got lost in a move at some point. So now - I know it's been at least 35 years, I just bought one and I'm ready to play it again. Looking up on You Tube, I saw this, and this is great inspiration for me - you may see me on You Tube before long attempting a solo! Thanks for the great music!

  • Thank you for that comment. I'm very glad to

hear that you're ready to re-discover the

chromatic harmonica again. Once you begin

playing and clear away the rust, you'll do

fine. Like riding a bike, sort of. I'll look

forward to hearing you in the future.

    Thanks again, Dave

  • Beautiful,Ilike this one,5 stars fron me.Good luck on your festival and contest.

    bye for now John.

  • Thanks. Glad you liked this one. I had fun

playing it. The festival was the Yellow Pine

festival this past August. I was lucky to have

won this contest. Thanks for the support.

    Bye now, Dave

  • Outstanding job Dave. Guess Im gonna have to get one of those SC's.

harmonica. Like most of us, I've pretty well

    played them all.

  • Thanks. Yes it's by "The Turtles. I've been

practicing, but I'm not sure what I'm doing

next. I've been busy concentrating on music

for a harmonica festival and contest in

Yellow Pine Idaho in th U.S. That is only a

    few weeks away.

    Thanks, Dave

  • Hello! Dave

Nice to hear this song today!

    Whats next from your harmonica?

    See You!

  • I used to play this one on the accordio. Sounds great Dave. Who did this song originally?

  • Wasn't sure myself so I looked it up. It was

originally done in 1967 by a group called

"The Turtles." Apparently it was their only

big hit knocking off The Beatles song "Penny

Lane" that year. Glad you asked. Now we both

know. Thanks for the positive comment on it as

    well

    Regards, Dave

to my playing of this song. Hope your coming

along great with your playing as well.

    Thanks, Dave

  • Awesome. I think It is quite difficult to play this song, isn't it? I hope I can play this song one day.

  • Thanks for the kind words. Actually it's not

as difficult as it may seem. It's one of those

kind of songs that for me just seems to have

that flow to it. Makes it easier to get

creative and get a nice sound happening. I

would say you should definitely be able to

    play this song.

    Bye for now,Dave

  • Hello Dave,

Sorry, here I am again, I just discovered your channel and I am listening to all your videos, man what a talent you have, I enjoy the most of your songs you are playing, thanks very much.

This song sounds great, played very well.I am practising on my Suzuki chromatic 64 notes. I have to learn a lot. Therefor I can't post a video at this moment on YouTube. Please let me know what kind of Harmonica, is it Hohner, how many notes, and what Key, you are playing. Thanks a lot.

    Chris.

  • Thanks for the interest and positive feedback

    on my playing. I'm playing a Suzuki SC56. It's

a 56 note (14 hole) in the key of C.

    Greetings,Dave

  • Hi, Dave! I forgot to give you my STARS. Till this moment you have 4 stars. Why 4 ? All in YOUTUBE is very good worked, exception the RATINGS. Music is pure art, not competition, not "FORMULA 1". When somebody wants congratulate another person with STARS, I think the CORRECT is put them here, inside the comment (it's honest, pure, sincere). And so? ... I give you FIVE STARS. Why not? Great playing on a very beautiful song. ATÉ LOGO! From BraSil, Marcelo Batista.

  • Thanks so much. Never thought before, but

your comment and idea is quite true. Greetings. Dave

  • Hi Marcelo,

I thought about what you wrote.

You are absolutely right, music is pure art,not competition, everyone can make music his own way, with or without variations etc.

    Greetings-Chris-The Netherlands (Europe)

  • Congratulations, great Dave. I didn't know this song (excuse me), but...sincerely... it was very very beautiful; it touched my feelings, my heart (this is much important to me). When you go to sharp notes, it became more than a dream. Your playing was too much wonderful in this style. I will return here always to listen your playing on this so beautiful song. Bye for now (ah! I learned this expression with you). Excuse me my bad english. In portuguese is: Até logo! In spanish: Hasta luego!

  • So glad this song inspired such a positive

reaction. That's great, especially since you

say you haven't heard it before. That shows

how universal music is. It's the sound that

inspires. Thanks for such a wonderful comment Dave

  • Great Tune Dave !

  • Thanks for listening. Glad you liked this one. Bye now. Dave

  • We came here to appreciate the beautiful music in chromatic harmonica from our far away friend! Congratulations! We will recommend it to our friends here in Brazil! You play kromatic with great joy and happiness that is what our planet is needing! We, surely, will ever come here.

  • So nice to hear such appreciation for my

playing. Your words are very inspiring and

definitely keep me rolling along. This site

is really a great tool. We hear, and learn

from each other, and take away many ideas. Take care. Dave

  • lovely dave. accurate and passionate. and great choice of material. really suits your individual style.

  • Thanks so much. Glad to hear your thoughts.

As you know, that's sometimes the hardest

thing. Finding the right thing to put out

    there. Greetings. Dave

  • Great sound and throat vibrato happening there.

Maybe some of Jackie Rohaut is rubbing off.

    5 Stars.

    Cheers Warren

  • Thanks for those comments. I'm working on

the tone, so I'm glad to here your response.

Maybe I'm on the right track. Greetings. Dave

     Dave

  • Now that´s how we should all play the chromatic.Keep on posting. Right On Dave!!!

  • Thanks so much. Nice hearing from you. I hope

to get more songs out. I've just been a little

    too lazy. See you. Dave

  • Great performance, large tone in Your instrument, great song fits for chromatic!

    5 stars it is!

    Thanks Dave

  • Glad you liked it. I'm experimenting alot

more with tone lately. Hope to slowly improve

    if I can. Greetings.

    Dave

  • Great playing, sound, melody. Great inspiration! Thanks, Dave!

    Greetings from Knud

  • Happy you liked the song. I've always liked

this one. Maybe I'm stuck in the 60s. Talk to you later. Dave

  • nice tune! I like the throat vibrato you do, I need to learn how to do that. I knew the tune, there's a french version of it, just like many of the hits at that time, it was the norm to just put french lyrics on a top hit music and have a french young singer sing it.

  • Thanks for the comment. Glad you mentioned

the throat vibrato. I've been working on it,

so it's nice when someone does notice. Needs

practice, but it's a good tool to have for

    tone. Thanks. Dave

  • What a great piece on the harmonica! Beautiful playing as always.

  • Thanks for the kind words. It's one of those

songs I used to play all the time, and kind

of forgot. It came back quickly though. If

only I could remember other things that fast. Bye for now. Dave
