  • Back again and still enjoying the sounds !!

  • Oh, I remember this with ...a great time in life.....Thanks Monarchs!

  • I've got to keep coming back to this one, Oh the 60's !!

  • Opening "do do do" Sounds like Louie Lange's great backing baritone voice.

This was a big hit for Johnny and Joe in the 50's, but I didn't know the Monarchs recorded it. Thanks

  • Still enjoying it !!

  • I have this on a tape and the DJ claims the group was the Pretenders - same guys that did "I'm So Happy" - the Lewis Lymon tune.

  • @jmattei45 - The DJ is wrong! This group is The Monarchs from right here in Louisville, KY. They had national hits with "This Old Heart" in 1963 and "Look Homeward Angel" in 1964. They still perform today, 49 years after they initially formed.

  • This song was released in 1960, I suggest anyone interested in hearing one of the best fallseto voices in Rock history log on to the other Monarchs songs. The lead singer is Mike Gibson and he still occasionally preforms with The Monarchs.

  • Thanks for your memories. I believe most of us would love to go back to a certain time in our lives.
