When you understand the lyrics, I think the song is very good (I'm french). It's about a man who as a girlfriend, but he goes to Italy for ten days, and says he's going to have a lot of lovers here. But, when he comes back, he will have a lot of experience, and he knows that his love for his girlfriend he's stronger, so he'll ask her to become his fiancé (sorry for my english XD)
i dont speak french, but I think this song is great, and Henri has great stage presence as a singer, and he's very entertaining. most of the singers at the 1970 Eurovision were good. :)
This song reminds me of "Pomme, pomme" in that it sounds like a song that could feature in a singing lesson. That said, a fun number; that orchestra is awesome.
Do you realize that to be on Eurovision one must be the composer? The take down would have been difficult the flow changes and the judges may have taken that into consideration. The speed is faster than the other songs and the orchestra would have only one week to practice. Difficulty would have been taken into consideration wouldn't it?
