Secondly my fav piece of Andy warhol is this crazy piece, he took a sheet of some kind of metal (i think it was copper im not sure) and he got all of his assistants 2 piss on it! =O after it dried, the copper or w/e eroded and created these fantastic marks, i havent seen it live but i saw it in Modern art history its surprisingly beautiful! And i love silk screening i did one before of a dali piece with the faceless man playing the --->

  • @bjf2008 thanks billy.dont know how we missed your cool comment but we apreciate it

  • This was hands-down easily the best 10 and a half minutes of my week. I attended the School of Visual Arts in NYC, back in the 70's. I dig Bowie and Iggy and Lou and Mick....This vid was profoundly interesting to me. I remember seeing a litho of Warhol's Mick Jagger, a print, signed and numbered by Andy, at an art gallery in the city....the price: $10, 000....and that was back in the 70's.

    This is a wonderful, informative tribute to a truly unique individual.

  • A very entertaining look at Andy Warhol. Thanks guys,

  • good vid man im from pittsburgh..........

  • this was an excellent 411 video!

    The Lips Mural was Awesome!

    Keep Your Good Workin Commin!

  • Very cool show!

  • WOW! Thanks for the education on Andy Warhol. I love his work, but I never did the homework on his life. You have a very intense and interesting way of teaching. I am sure I will recall a lot of what I've learned here while watching you create at the same time.

    You two are very special, deep individuals.

    SpeakTruer

  • Another amazing Masterpiece from you my friends. Brilliant video, giving lots of info, well done...... 5***** =D

  • very informative

  • (--> sequel 3)

    The fingers can also remind us of death's fingers, trying to catch our throat and strangle us. "Sticky fingers" is quite a disturbing expression in itself. Who'd like sticky fingers to touch him/her ?

    Congratulations for the small stencils too. They help recreating that shiny exciting atmosphere Warhol used to live in. He also worked with them for his paintings.

    The color contrast expresses Andy's contradictions.

    Great tribute, guys, he'd be flattered.

    Sorry for the long comment.

  • crazylils.......I like sticky fingers to touch me.........its nice, mmmmm sticky fingers, I like to lick 'em too!

  • Why can't I leave a comment on your channel ? You make me laugh, I'm sure we could enjoy each other's stupidness and imagination. At least I have strong suspicions...he he.

    See ya ?

  • Stupid is as stupid does!! come up and see me....make me smile!

  • (--> sequel 2)

    About the sticky fingers, it's a pretty funny wink to Warhol's professionnal and friendly (and maybe more) relationships with the Stones, and it means a lot too. These fingers are trying to pull on the mouth, but it's obviously too big to be moved and we can almost hear it laugh with contempt. Here's a nice representation of a struggle, Andy's struggle for life, helped by all his rich and famous friends from the Factory.

  • (sequel)

    I think your painting guys really reflects Andy's ambivalence. And it's a well-known fact that people who're always looking for fame and money are afraid of death. Fame means nothing if it can't bring you what we may all secretely want, even if it's not a conscious process : eternity. Money, friends, fun and all that is cool, but you can be as happy and even more without being famous.

    At least that's how I see things.

    This silent blue kiss is basically death's final embrace.

    (-->)

  • "Sticky Fingers", he he...they do appear in your painting, as well as many symbols regarding Andy's life, art and obsessions.

    Tell me if I'm wrong, but what I see in these big blue lips is of course the glamorous side, but also Death. Don't lips turn blue when you die and your blood stops running ?

    And you're saying it too : he painted lots of dead people, as well as guns, electric chairs and skulls. He was torn between his glittering character and his own inner obsessions. (to be continued)

  • Lovin your style of story telling! Keeping it real! ;)

  • Holy crap, you guys were less than a 2 hour drive from my house. Almost gives me that "hey neighbor wanna beer" feeling.

  • I think it's funny that the museum is closed Mondays. I don't like Mondays either haha!

  • Interesting...

  • Great video Tim and Sandy. It must of been great to go home. Looks freaking cold. Betsey Johnson was the one who created the Silver Age theme at the Factory.She was also the designer for Edie and the V.U. I can't believe the museum reaction. Maybe if Trippy was with you things might of been different.LOL

  • "do what you like " BINGO!!!!!!!!!

    great vid guys ,what up with the foil room ? protection from Trippy ?

  • Hey Sandy & Tim! Good to see ya´ again! Your Drella-Vid is amazing, esp. the New York Factory production design ;) It´s a real good trip on the wild side, the most interesting side of life! Lipstick Kisses from Sweet Jane - on his grave - are butterflies of Andy´s Pop Art Brain, when he shot, complete insane, fantastic movies with no name! Just like feel, to be a god or jesus son! Stay in touch;)

  • So So Intresting guys you got it to a tee and you got me glued I loved it...I Think Everybody thinks the same when I say you guys always deliver...

  • Tim and Sandy love the video,great painting;peace[Freddie]

  • F*** those YouTube's over-limit characters, I just want to write a proper comment on my favourite crazy guys' videos !

    The 60's...what can I add except that my parents definitely sucked when they made me come to life in 1990. They've lived the most exciting period, why did they need to make kids if not to show them what they've missed ? That's so sadistic !

    It's always cool to hear some tunes from the Velvet Underground or the Stones. Kinda makes me feel less regretful.

    ONEBLACKROSE rocks !

  • Andy Warhol...countless would-be artists have been trying to imitate him for years now, but they can't do what's already been done, and done so greatly. The only similar thing between them (I won't give any names, you all see who I mean, they're selling their works for 65 million dollars at Sotheby's and Christie's right now) is that they're looking for fame and money. But Warhol got himself an everlasting fame whereas those guys will only have everybody's 15 minutes. Plus the money.

    Love ya !

  • When I was a teenager I was baby sitting and thay had the Sticky fingers L.P. I thought the cover was so cool.I unzipped the zipper and looked in side!)I cant remember what was inside now.And yes I did listen to it.

  • whell I love Eddie sedgwick

    so I can't post a really great comment...

    But I like Velvet underground and all the music that was created in there...

  • This needs to be watched more than once. Informative and humorous (I laughed out loud) but also very moving in a way I cant quite get a hold of yet. Famous for 15 minutes? Thats what Youtube is for, Andy was certainly a visionary. The painting is a beautiful tribute to a groundbreaking artist (love the colours and the concept). His art is alive and always will be, so really Andy isnt dead. Andy has achieved everlasting fame nevermind 15 minutes.

    Just love those hats by the way. Sandys coat 2!
