You are so right. When South Africans identify themselves as such, not so much as a part of a sub-group, and when they vote the issues, and not color...*sigh.
Good view and you ask a good question; why are blacks not angry? Is it less education, or are they used to hardship, etc.? One can suggest, THEY don't think like you. I think you've got touched serious issues with wisdom but the manner you do so is annoying. You're telling them to think ( during election, they don't think)next time the election they're voting. To me, though u being a South African, u know very little (or even disconnected) about how black majority in your country thinks and acts
What u've mention affect blacks & until u get to know the black community better you're preaching in the desert. Between the DA & ANC, they don't have much of a choice, legacy of apartheid hangs on the DA (white) & there aren't many alternatives in terms of other black political parties. Even with your good ideas, you'll get no support because that legacy hangs around your neck as well. that's it,just as Nazism will always be associated with Germany and there's nothing u can do about it.
@Mungopark81 Off course whites would be blamed for apartheid, because it did happen and it did affect people's lives, cultures etc. But the guy is right and what he is doing is what every white even blacks should do, ie.. EMPATHY -speak about the situation and not the race,This guy said the truth, many blacks do want betterment and another govt besides the ANC but how can you convince them to vote for the DA when many whites are still calling them kaffirs and praising the apartheid regime .
Remember that they are the majority by far and their vote has grounds, but blacks just as many whites also feel betrayed by their govt -the ANC. Blaming blacks would just divide the gap even further, you must make them feel safe under a white or DA leadership. Many blacks do in fact want an alternative govt but they don't trust whites enough to put them back into power so they'll always vote the ANC. Winning over their trust is paramount. MAN BY NATURE WOULD ALWAYS CHOOSE FREEDOM OVER SECURITY

A minority like them are only shooting their feet when they act like this because the more it radicalises, the more they lose the ability to influence the policy and emigration is left as the only option. @Mungopark81 yeah...i for one think that whites should remain in South Africa.....I used to be in doubt about the whites and what they were saying until i realized it myself...the ANC is reaping apart this once successful nation, South Africa is now like most African Nations.......No functional military for defense, Crime and corruption etc........ But what makes things worst is that the ANC totally ignores science and investigation- which is a key element to modern development
Truth is, if whites leave South Africa would be screwed. I'm not a racist but i like being honest and rational at times. The ANC as is most Black governments around the world have the misconception that money is what develops a country...yes it does to a certain point, but Intellectual or science and technology is what really does the job...So these governments invest more in money than developing their society...then when they fail they choose the easy way out, that is to Blame the white man

Remember we are humans, rationality at times is overshadowed by emotion and our ego. However I agree with you that whites shouldn't leave SA because there's a lot to gain from diversity and the input they bring. History has done this country a lot of harm with effects still fresh today
@Mungopark81 sorry if you misinterpreted me but i didn't mean it on racial grounds, but more on an intellectual bases; in that not that the whites are more intelligent but that they make up the majority of those with the know how and finance, which will cause a brain drain.
@emperor536 I fully agree with you and it's not only a brain drain for SA but for Africa. I have been stunned by the passion of white SA for SA and Africa as a continent inspite of the difficulties they face and they have acquired so much skills especially with commercial farming that can be shared with the rest of Africa. Not because Africans don't know to farm but to improve the income other African farmers can make from such large scale farming
@emperor536 what at times puzzle me is that in the rest of Africa, there's a general acceptance of white presence in Africa and a good example is land incentives offered to expelled Zimbabwean farmers in other western African countries like Nigeria, Ghana. But in SA it's still problematic. It all boils down to bad governing. That's Africa's worst disease, it kills far more than AIDS. There's hope, younger and educated generation is more open than the older ones

Investing in science and technology is vital to modern development and I'm quite disappointed with the way things are going over-there. As SA will remain majority black, big change can come when other black political parties would have achieve popularity to contest ANC supremacy, then people can vote for policies and not by affiliation to the struggle against apartheid, peace

I have been stunned by the passion of white SA for SA and Africa as a continent inspite of the difficulties they face and they have acquired so much skills especially with commercial farming that can be shared with the rest of Africa.
