base copy start from the edge of slanting picture ,because i feel the eye travel from the top and comes down then as the same place the copy start i feel like that.
My professor calls is negative space which is what my high school art teacher called it and my friends call it... only because it's not always white even in your example.

@SamusWins Yes, that is also correct. I use both, but negative space is clearer to understand when you aren't using a white sheet of paper.
