WOW, this is SO BASIC, yet so incredibly useful, specially the brush dragging option which i did not know, that is soooo much better than left clicking
I dont know why but when I zoom to any percentage beside 50,100, or 200, these black lines appear on my picture and it's so annoying!if anyone could teach me how to get rid of them
@ekjasdevi - Hmmm... I haven't seen that specific issue. Without seeing your screen, maybe you're referring to the "Pixel Grid" this can be toggled on & off if you goto the menu choose View>Extras>Pixel Grid.
@answerOfstupids - not sure how you missed it, but I list the correct Windows shortcuts at 3:08 & 3:42 in the video. I didn't mention the brush properties or blend mode shortcuts so thanks for pointing those out.
@TwiTchMaGiikz - most likely this is due to the video card on your computer. Check to see if your system supports OpenGL. You can find that in Photoshop's preferences. PC goto Edit-->Preferences, Mac goto Photoshop-->Preferences.
since im on this video and to lazy to go to one that has the effect on it lol.. whats the easiest way without messing up the original image to use the clone tool i know u can make a layer and sample from the original image go to the layer and so on but is there any other way thats much more simpler?
@romodrummerjz - if you do not want to sample through a blank layer, then I would simply duplicate the background image and clone directly on the copy. You would then adjust opacity of the copy for blending.
@romodrummerjz - I don't know what version of PS you are using, but if you're in CS5 goto the menu and choose View-->Show-->Pixel Grid. Uncheck Pixel Grid to turn off that feature.
@Darksiders44 - could you be more specific with your question? I'm not sure what you mean by zooming in without blur. If you zoom in on the picture you will see the pixels that makeup the image. It would tend to look "pixelated" or even blurry to some folks.
@FuNkY33333 - Do you want to influence the viewer's focus? Are you asking how to create a vignette in the image? Or do you mean to ask about image sharpening?
@FuNkY33333 - Ah... OK. There are many different techniques, but the simplest way to do that would be duplicate the layer, and apply a blur filter. You could then use either the Eraser Tool or a Layer Mask on the blurred layer to reveal the areas you would like in focus from the layer below. I will actually demonstrate part of that technique in next week's video.
please tell me why the zoom tool is no longer in the application bar? it frustrates me so much when I go to click zoom at the top and instead have to look along the left panel to find zoom, it won't even let me personalise it!
@SpaceiNvadersBand - I can't give you a specific reason for the change other than a lot of folks were using the "sticky keys" feature (press & hold Z while you need the Zoom tool, let go reverts back to previous tool), pressing Z to switch to the tool, or using CMD+Spacebar (CTRL+Spacebar) to get the tool. In the end, Adobe probably thought the UI change didn't enhance the program that much.
@zacharney1 - check and make sure your video card has OpenGL support. You can look in Photoshop's preferences under performance.
@geniusjas87 - to my knowledge the shortcut for resizing will not work as you draw because you have to drag either left-right or up-down to change the properties of the brush. This would be hard to do if you were applying a brush stroke to your image.
Is it possibe to change the size and feather of the brushes while im drawing? Meaning holding down the LMB can I change the size/feather of the brush simultaneously using the shortcut?
@geniusjas87 what you're looking to do may best be accomplished with a pen tablet. The mouse drag shortcut won't allow you to draw & resize simultaneously.

Example the girl is starring at something and I want to focus her cute face, I mean, everything to be blurry except her face :) .

@djsaya1 if using CS5 you have to check off the "Scrubby Zoom" in the Options bar for it to work.
