There is a big difference dancing improv and choreographed. You have to be determined to do it, too. Maybe Lacey isn't as good at choreographed dancing as Heidi is.. She is a good improv dancer.

Yeah - I've seen a couple of "Jack and Jill" dances that Benji did (where a boy and girl are randomly partnered and they have to improvise a dance right then and there). Benji does a great job. Dancing with his sister here should make things a little easier - they know how the other dances. But it is still VERY impressive.

i know absolutely nothing about dance of any kind. but an improv lead and follow, that means the girl follows the guy without knowing beforehand what he'll do? and with improv dances and i've watched clips of some of the swing dances with other dancers, it just seems to flow so smoothly. how do they anticipate beforehand what the first dancer will do and just go with it without hesitation. or is it easier if its someone they've danced with before? i don't get it. at all. its fascinating.

they are such great dancers. i don't know if the natural talent is genetic or if its because they were dancing since they were kids, but they are great. i've watched the entire 2nd and 3rd seasons of sytycd and they both made it to the vert last show. out of all the dancers that auditioned. i don't think she made it that far because she was benji's sister. it was on her own merit. and also the ability to learn other dance styles shows true talent. this brother/sister team rocks

I've been doing West Coast Swing for over 3 years now. I really fell in love with the dance because of it flexibility in style and how it can potentially lend itself so well to a variety of music and inspire dance creativity and artistic movement. Some of the lead-follow improv is crazy. If you search for Jordan and Tatiana (they're normally routine partners but got a Jack and Jill improv at MadJam...2007, I think) or Kyle and Sarah (Redd and VanDrake respectively, same thing as J&T, but I don't know which competition they got each other for Jack and Jill), but it's the same thing...they've been dancing together for AGES, so even an improv dance will look choreographed...they just know what to feel for in the dude's leading.
