Hi all you parrot loving creatures - discussioning wingclipping. Normally I'm not fond of wingclipping but here is actually a REALLY GOOD REASON FOR THE PARROT to get his wings clipped! If I was blind I wouldn't drive my car, right? ;-) @blindtoo: You are definately taking care of your precious little creature, Good job!
It's very easy for cockatoos to steal hearts. Mine was stolen the minute I first saw my Jasmine... Jasmine loves to get under the blankets like Rocky. Thank God Rocky has a wonderful companion like you that gives the extra care his blindness requires.
Yes, I was out looking at parrots and fell for the U2's...and set out to find one. Rocky was in a bad home, neglected and mistreated, and we bonded almost immediately.
But don't tell him he's blind...he just thinks I keep forgetting to turn the lights on! He makes it easy to care for him.
I do work from home now, but for the first 13 years I had him he was home alone for 10-16 hours a day. I lucked out, he's very independent. I go away sometimes for a night and just have someone check in on him, he does very well.
Even now, I try not to spend too much time with him because I don't him to become dependent. He gets a lot of attention, but not as much as 'toos usually requre.
I've seen all the videos on your channel. I've never seen such a true love between human and animal. Rocky couldn't have dreamed of more devoted friend! :)
Btw you choose great music for your videos, it makes watching them even more enjoyable :)
Thank you very much! Yes, people always tell me they can see the bond between us...I'm lucky to have found him!
Glad you like the music, I just wish the music producers would quit deleting my videos...they're whining about me using a few seconds of their songs. It's getting ridiculous, and I never know which video they'll cry about next and have it deleted!!
Yes, he's just great! When he was fully sighted I could never get away with sticking his 'extra' feathers in like that, but he doesn't know how silly he looks so didn't seem to mind! lol
