When a movie is made based on a series or a book it has no choice but to be compared to the books...this movie destroyed the books and potential for an epic trilogy or cycle of movies...PG was not the way to go in my opinion
I don't want to offend anyone but when I saw the movie I were amazed! It is because of the movie that I bought the books and began reading those. Yes it turns out the book was way different then the movie but still, the movie did inspire me and back when I first saw the movie (I were like 10 years old) I thought it was awesome! Of course now that I have read the books my opinion about the movie changed but I still owe that movie for introducing me to an awesome fantasy world.

yeah they deleted to many scenes but they also added some scenes like the RAZAC DIEING they cant do that because if you read the rest of the books you know they become a very big part in the books to come so clearly the idiot who wrote the movie didnt read the books and also many people beleive eragon did not get the scar but in truth he did the shade flipped off his bat thing and got him on the back nut you have to pay attention to that closely as it is not obvious but they didnt delete it

When I watched Eragon I thought it was the greatest movie ever. When I found out there was a book I immeadiately bought it. Then when I finished it I realized what a load of crap the movie actually was. When I read Eldest I became outraged because I realized they could never make a sequal to the movie. In my eyes, I feel like they failed, hard, in recreating Eragon in film. Hopefully they get a new director and actors for the 2nd and 3rd films if they even try to make them.. they need to redo Eragon first though..
@kogiama well, I read the books long time ago so the things I remeber are that Eragons new sword was blue, his half brother's sword is red but maybe after murthags dragon, but his dragon (spikes) is red two... sooooouuuu I guess Galbatorixes sword must be black... yes, because Glaedr was Gold and the old Elf's sword was also golden... well, thats's what I remeber, maybe I'm wrong
the only way for them to make the movie eldest is if they remake the movie eragon. they deleted to many important scenes for the story to go on any further.

@kogiama well, I read the books long time ago so the things I remeber are that Eragons new sword was blue, his half brother's sword is red but maybe after murthags dragon, but his dragon (spikes) is red two... sooooouuuu I guess Galbatorixes sword must be black... yes, because Glaedr was Gold and the old Elf's sword was also golden... well, thats's what I remeber, maybe I'm wrong

@NinjaPiratFish yeah i get what u mean an i feel the same i used to really love chritopher paolini's inheritance cycle very much as well and feel that they insulted him with this 2008 movie. ive heard that their actually working on eldest and making it a little longer due to their deleting of the important scenes, but im not getting my hopes up that it will be very good. it would take a miracle for this movie to actually succeed as the books did for me. thx

Aside from the fact that they fucked up the movie so completely and utterly by changing crucial things and leaving things out (i.e teirm, and the deaths of the ra'zac just to name two otherwise I'd run out of space) I seriously doubt they would try to make an Eldest movie...
