@2arunout - I have lost 3 times- 1st to Judy Neff in an open grapling competition @ my very first tournament (I won another division @ the same tournament in juijitsu),
and I lost 2 other times. I have submitted once during my grappling/jiu-jitsu carreer. But I have tap out many times during training that's for sure! I was fortunate to have men as my team mate/ training partners, they have more strength and it was a great preparation for women. Losing was good- it was a great motivator
@bazarro44 also- "on the street" probably indicates one has not signed up for an agreeable situation such as a controlled competition- I feel bad you do not quiet understand a true and respectful competition and sport.
@jett888 There is no such thing as a controlled fight. This is not fighting, this is sadomasachism and a dance in ignorance. no one respects this junk that has not been brain damaged by floride in their water. You degrade women and set them up to be ultimately physically assaulted
That's so funny- soccer, baseball, basketball, swimming, horse racing, gymnastics, etc. don't have striking either- but there is technique, sweating, strategy and sportsmanship in all- I guess they aren't sports either- I bet you'll have a lot of fans who disagree with you- plus- I don't have to worry about a broken nose! lol be good or a black eye! lol, s
Thank you. Keeping the endurance and encorporating strength with technique and this sport makes it fun to stay in shape. I need some sort of goal to stay in shape and this is a nice one, challenging and fun at the same time.
I heard you were coming out of retirement. Is that true? I've always admired your wrestling skills but kind of get the feeling you haven't got a dancing bone in your body, for which reason the question I'm about to ask is probably wasted - what is the music that accompanies this clip?
Hi Jett. After posting that last clip I in fact discovered that it's a German number entitled "Sandstorm", by a group named Darude. I now do quite a dance routine to it which is pretty exhausting, since the fast sections are very fast but are interspersed with slower sections that require some careful thought. Enter "Sandstrom Darude" in your Youtube search box and watch the video. I suspect you are going to enjoy how the story works out.
This looks like a great sport. I'm a female wrestler (there's some differences but also a lot of similarities to what I do) and it's off-season right now. All I have to say is Wow! this made me wish the season was here so much more! Great work, ladies.
I actually wrestled Jett a couple of years ago and it was like taking on a woman from another species. I was 40 pounds heavier two inches taller and in great shape but she scissored me so hard I thought my navel was rubbing against my spine.
you girls seem like good sports but dont you have to be angry to like this? I want my kid to be able to defend himself but i dont want him addicted to violence like some prople I know.
No anger. If somebody is angry they would lose the patience and timing required for this sport. This is not a violent sport-football is violent! In this sport, you give your opponent and opportunity to "TAP OUT." In a sport such as football, you don't have time to "tap" nor would your opponent stop before hitting you so hard your ACL tears. This sport builds confidence and patient with yourself.
It's a great excercise- Physical Chess- it keeps the brain working too. I love it!
A victory is always welcome - and tapping out an opponent is no doubt better than winning on a referee's decision.
From viewing that well applied choke, a person gets the notion that Jett has definitely strong - though slender - arms. Don't think I'd want to face Jett in an arm wrestling contest.
Hey DrLove- I wish I had a hs wrestling background-sure would have been easier. They also train you guys to stay on top. Great take downs too. You can always tell a wrestle, great base.
have you ever lost!

Hey E.H!
If you have wrestling background you must have a great base and takedowns-this grappling would be right up your alley.
I started late in life and wish I had a high school wrestling experience-no luck, but glad I found this sport when I did. Best of luck to you.

I find it interesting that most people in this sport would never fall into the "dumb athlete" category.
They are intense, thinking and passionate about this sport.

Interesting contrast of body types,I wonder which is the more suitable for this type of activity?
NormanGunston 4 years ago
Well, lets see I won!! ha ha, just kidding.
Being tall has advantages as far as basing out and
not getting swept easily. But being shorter makes you vulnerable to double or single legs if your opponent is shorter. ALSO-whose lucky day it is
is another thing. (it happened to be my lucky day, lenora was skilled and relentless)
