  • Ronnie James Dio is a little green frog, your argument is invalid! Super video.

  • Ronnie James Dio made this song a succes. He never got to many credtis for it from Roger. Without Ronnie this would have been a modest song....

  • all you need is love and understanding

  • * * * * *

  • I know this is the 3rd time Ive posted this. Not many of us read old posts.

  • C'mon folks admit it. It's a bit Beatles innit?

  • @rob16248 Wouldn't have been out of place in Yellow Submarine.

  • Like if you think Gotye should do a cover of this song!

  • Hey people, don't you KNOW who's singing this? It's the late, great RONNIE JAMES DIO no less! Probably the only time we ever heard his voice on Australian radio!

  • @ancientglen That's what brought me here. I found out by chance, and had to have it confirmed.

  • I remember watching this as a little girl... it always intrigued me and scared me a bit...don't know why it scared me??? ..anyway, the story in the cartoon inspired me as a child. I was a poet/ writer by the age of 10.

  • Roger Glover is the hottest Rock singer this is great!!

  • @pissandwind Roger Glover did not sing this. Ronnie James Dio sang this.

  • Roger Glover is the hottest Rock singer this is great!!

  • That's psychedelic.

  • I'd forgotten about this song till I heard it on the radio the other day; reminds me of being a little kid in the 70's watching it on Countdown. Love it so much its been on high rotation on my i-pod.

Beautiful and uplifting but I was always slightly spooked by the video!!

  • Remember when they used to play this during The Early Bird Show with Marty the Monster on the 0/10 Network (in Melbourne Australia) in the 70's? Loved it then and love it know - more so cos it takes me back to my innocent childhood

  • Wow! I've wondered about this song & clip for appr. 35 years. Finally I've found it & it actually is as good as I remember. Multi thanks for posting this.

  • Creative!

  • I think many people of the general public were surprised to find out that this happy and friendly song with its cute video was made by a bunch of long-haired heavy-metal guys, haha :)

  • Fantastic Flashbacks AND students of Tibetan Buddhist Meditation all over the world will identify with "Love is All"

  • Une des meilleures chansons au monde, si ce n'est la meilleure. ♥

  • It's so nice to have something like this in the Dio catalog. The man's work was often quite dark, which belied his nature as a totally nice dude, even though he didn't write this song I think it really reflects upon that man's nature. I had the opportunity to meet him once, and the man was the sort of man you meet and sense he has a nice "soul" even if you're like me and don't necessarily buy into the supernatural.

  • They used to play this on Nickelodeon in between shows. Back in the early 80's. Love it!

  • Yeah, Yeah, I'm back in memorylane...

Four years old and running to the telly with my sister. Together we sang along and enjoyed the video. I wish I could go there one more time... and another time... and another time... sigh... the magical seventies!!!

  • im a kid again!!!!!!

  • ronnie did the vocal

  • wait, i'm confused.. how come everybody's talking about ronnie james dio here? roger glover is a different guy, and still alive.

  • @beccahday Roger wrote it Ronnie sang it and also appeared with DP

  • My heart will always shine bright for Ronnie James Dio..The greatest rock & roll vocalist of our time. We Rock!

  • haha! at 1.15 "Spiderpig Spiderpig"!!

  • Awesome!

  • NOW SHOWING ......In Popeyez Vomit Theater.....Satan's School for Girls......enjoy the show.

  • Great piece of musical history. Just fabulous.

INCREDIBLE voice! He was a great man. The BEST rock vocalist in my book.

  • I HEART This SOOO much <3

  • I HEART This SOOO much <3

  • I can't freaking believe I finally found this!!!! Didn't realize then that I'd be a HUGE Purple and Dio fan:-)

  • Released in1974, the year I was born, so no wonder this is such a well-loved song! This always brings back such happy memories. It's so sad how it's always the decent people who die too soon. Thank you for posting, and thank Ronnie...you'll never be forgotten

  • must be the best film clip of all time(and up there for songs)

  • I LOVE this song!!!!!!!!!!!

I too remember it on the ABC when I was a little kid. I'm 34 now. :D

  • 7 dislikes from "Happy Hardcore" fans don't really count...

I remember this from when I was little and it brings back happy memories. Can the same be said of all the churned-out, same-old-shit, chart rubbish?

    R.I.P. Ronnie. Miss you, brother.

  • Yeee...

  • 7 people weren't invited to the Butterfly Ball!

  • It used to be one of the video clips between The Goodies, Come and Get It (with Peter Russel Clarke) and Monkey.

  • @TheWarriorcookie Yup, that's how I remember watching it as well :-)

  • @TheWarriorcookie Also Dr. Who?

  • @TheWarriorcookie and between Sesame Street and Play School at approx 9.25am on school sick days.

  • @TheWarriorcookie 'Afternoon Show' with James Valentine?!?!

  • @TheWarriorcookie I remember it was between play school and seseme street lolz

  • @TheWarriorcookie I remember that, those were the days... "Come & get it, come & get it with Peter 'g'day' Russell 'g'day' Clarke"

  • @TheWarriorcookie Oh my god YES!! And do you remember they used to show Disco Duck at around 4 o'clock sometimes?

  • Yeah, the ABC used it and a few other music videos to fill the gaps in their afternoon schedule instead of ads.

  • @gths2006 this was the closing song on abc

  • I loved watching this song on Countdown when i was a kid :)

  • Was this shown on ABC Saturday mornings in the past?

  • @BlaqueInkChannel It was on Countdown

  • when your backs to the wall, when youre starting to fall, you've got something to lean on........love is all - RIP RJD - bless

  • I remember seeing this cartoon appear a lot on Nickelodeon in the past. As a child it did creep me out a bit, especially the five-headed frog-plant, but the song was tight. Seeing it now, I see it as a great combination of artistic creativity and musical power seldom seen today. Rest in peace, Ron.

  • Yaeh I remember. Top!

  • another oracle

  • So Cool!

  • Ah Ah !!! trop mignon de revoir ce dessin animé, ça me rappelle mon enfance. A chaque fois qu'il était diffusé à la télé, je restais "scotchée" à l'écran car j'étais très impressionnée par les personnages. BON SOUVENIR :) :) :)

  • It's funny twenty years ago when i first saw this on Night Flight, I thought Freddy Mercury was the vocalist. Which goes to show how diverse a vocalist Dio was/IS.

  • so amasing...

  • RIP Ronnie James Dio

  • Sung by Ronnie James Dio! Saw this on NightFlight in the mid-80's! Knew it was Dio then and 15 years later found the newly remastered CD of Roger Glover and Friends with the cartoon attached at a QT file! Thanks for putting up!

  • All you need is love and understanding....................that's how the world should be and all the people should think.....Am I wrong???

  • The first kind of video and I loved it. Wonderful clip and a great song! Singer Ronnie James Dio died last weekend, he will be fondly remembered.

  • This is a song i want playin at our wedding next year, such a great message, n some great singing from the late great Ronnie James Dio

  • wow , thats all i can say , i grew up on this album , genius , dio was the man , so sad he is no more of this world !! at least we have his music!!!!

  • wow , this is my childhood in a song , i remember my mother playing this to me when i was about 5 and im now 32 , love it. makes me sad to think that Dio is dead ,i never knew it was him singing . such a amazing song !!!

  • @mag575kn I was the same, loved this clip as a youngster and then in high school (late 80s) I was a big fan of Dio unaware he sang this. A mate's older brother had Rainbow Rising and I was hooked - had to hear everything he'd ever done. When the connection was made I tracked the Butterfly Ball down (a cassette at the local library lol) and listened in pure joy. Still one of his finest vocal performances, I say. R.I.P \m/

  • R.I.P. Ronnie you legend. Great song this too.

  • RIP Ronnie James Dio.

  • Rest in peace Ronnie !

  • repose en paix ronnie james dio

  • RIP my big bro' All those years with your voice... can't believe you're gone...

  • RIP DIO

  • I used to see this on PBS when I was a kid between shows like The Electric Company and Zoom...whew...do I date myself or what? It didn't dawn on me until about 10 years ago that this was even Dio. I happened upon a recording of this in the napster days and it was THEN that I could tell that unmistakably this was RJD! So this is indeed the first time I ever heard Ronnie's voice. I am not kidding, I actually remember thinking how great the vocals were even at 7 or 8 years old.

  • Rest in peace Ronnie James Dio.

  • Rock in Peace Ronnie James Dio! You will be missed. There are many heavy metal singers out there, but you had the most powerful and unique voice out of all of them. I cannot convey how sad I am... and what a loss this is to the metal community and lovers of good music. Thank you for all the years of great albums and concerts. Cheers, Vic Roland from Connecticut, USA.

  • It was this song I thought about when I heard that he'd died. R.I.P.

  • Some of my mates and I were fortunate enough to meet and talk with Dio when he came on tour to Sydney, Australia and appeared on Donnie Sutherland's Sounds. One cool part was when Donnie played this clip and Dio was obviously entranced. When Donnie asked why, Dio replied it was because he'd never seen the clip before. We went to the concert that night. Great memories!

Rest in Peace, Ronnie James Dio.

  • Rip Ronnie. Thanx

  • CharmersS, I was thinking the same thing today, Everything you've just written except Melbourne ABC, LOL.

  • All of you, pleass spread this to the world!!!

  • Grrrrreat, it's about 20 years since i heard it the last time. I totally forgot this great song. I still love it!

  • charmersS you hit the nail on the head ROCK ON

  • i had this recorded on vhs when i was a kid and i used to rewind it and replay 0:28 so we could laugh at the frog's butt and how he walks in right there. lol good times.. good memories.

  • Why is it songs these days are often full of hate or at the very least aggressive. So much of the 60's and 70's songs actually sung about hope and the future - weird that the youth of today thinks its okay to be like the former one and look down on the latter.

  • Get well Ronnie! You have the most beautiful voice in hard rock/metal history. God has really blessed you with a voice to share with us.

  • Have loved this song/vid since I saw it on TV lots when I was a kid - between cartoons....such a good tune!

    :o)

  • lol awesomeness. did Roger do the bass for the songg?

  • I love this one so much. Sigh

  • Trippyyyyyyyyyy.......

  • What a blast from the past! I loved this song when I was a kid, very catchy with a great message. I always felt sorry for the mole that everyone stepped on his head - hehe

  • Fantastic - a trip back to my youth ;-)

  • I remember watching this on HBO before it went 24 hour in the 1970's...it was on between the movies in their 'kiddie' cartoon set. It is a great song and a trippy cartoon!!! Thanks for sharing!

  • OMG what a blast from the past!!! I have been searching for this song fro YEARS!!! they used to play this song and animation on ABC TV in Sydney between shows when I was a little kid!!! I never forgot the tune but didn't know the song's name...and now I have been rekindled...gave me cold shivers when I heard it again after all these years!!! Sweet memories!!!

  • @charmersS

Yep, used to be played between Monkey and the Goodies on ABC iirc when I was a kid and I loved it. No surprise it's the great Ronnie James Dio (R.I.P.) on vocals \m/

  • @Neumo2007 that's right thanks for the memory Neumo I had forgotten that

  • @brismike65 no worries, great to relive the childhood memories with such a great song :-)

  • @charmersS all i can say is your both right happens to all of us id say your all mid 30/40s lol

  • @charmersS - I know EXACTLY what you mean. I always wondered what happened to that cartoon (from the ABC when I was a wee nipper) with the singing frog and where it was from and if I would ever see it again. Wracked by brains out for years trying to think of the name of it. I never would've thought it was actually written by the lead singer of Black Sabbath (after Ozzy)
