The EVO is the much superior machine. I have driven both for years and I wouldn't settle for anything less than the best performer.

See how it sounds? I had an 06 wrx limited and an EVO MR. The new Evo x gsr and mr are both faster to 60 than the Sti, gsr and mr are faster around a course, and the EVO won last month's Road an Track magazine best handling contest. Sti didn't even make the top ten. Both are great, EVO=best performance

The reason that Subaru got more people into Imprezas and WRXs was because they all have AWD in everything, not just the STI. If Mitsubishi had followed that root with the Lancers I would be looking into one as well as a WRX.

Anyways, I have been fortunate enough to own several Sti's and Evo's [one of each at the same time at one point!] and may I say that I would drive the Sti to and from the track but once there I would race the Evo!

Side note: This year at the Bathhurst 12 hour here in Australia the Evo X was the ONLY non-exotic GT3 entrant (Ferrari's, Porsche's, Audi R8 LMS V10 etc.) to come in the top 9 finishers, and was first in class for the 3rd time in 4 years thrashing

I think its an all round even view. It is unbiased, he goes through the honest points of each vehicle, how ever he doesnt dish out as much dirt on the STi but if you read up on it and better yet test one, you will be surprised how well it does handle. Down sides for both cars is that unless your racing it every where or on a track, they arent practical for the power and peformance you get... But who cares really lol, i like my cars fast... and affordable.
