The Christian support for Israel is based on Old Testament prophecies of the End Times which make it clear that it is Gods will for Israel to be a nation right now, that God will intervene ON ISRAELS BEHALF against it's enemies and that God has and will judge Israel and ultimately have mercy on Israel. See Zecheriah ch.12 and ezekiel ch 36-39.

Israel maintains Gaza as a prison camp by regulating who and what goes in. Israel has the bombs, nuclear weapons, jets, etc. to pound the Palestinians into submission. Palestinians have homemade rockets (very inaccurate and weak), light arms and rocks. Being locked is a prison certainly will result in retaliation by some inside. Israel receives $6 Billion in foreign aid from the United States. Palestine gets scraps from around the world.
