I've had my 306 now for about 12 months. It's a Y (2001) 2.0 HDi in Moondust and it's the best car i've ever had! Apart from a service it's needed nothing since i've had it and flew through it's MOT last month they really are superb cars if you can find a good one. Most are battered now due to high mileage but there are still some good ones out there. It's amazing on fuel and they are pretty rapid too.
@dudnolad I get 41mpg from mine but mines not a HDi. I'm going to get rid of her soon. I've had her 3 years and her age is starting to show now. She won't pass her MOT next week as the exhaust is falling off and I have a feeling it might have some other things wrong with it. So suffice to say I'll be looking for another car, but I will miss her. She's never once let me down engine wise in the last 3 years. =)
@abyssunderground Are the 306's good? Because when I'm old enough to drive (just over a year) I will drive my parents car, but when I'm 18, I will get a car on finance, and was wondering if these cars are any good?
@VOLVORULEZ1995 They are, but the majority are getting old now to they need a bit of tender loving care to keep them on the road. I would start by getting a cheap car that isn't on finance. Chances are you'll have a few bumps and scrapes in your first year or two of driving so you wouldn't want to spoil an expensive car. Save about £500 and aim for a car in that area. Do a bit of research into the brand/model as well. I've had two 306's now and loved them both.
@abyssunderground The insurance will hit you worst so research the insurance group it will be in as well. The 306's aren't low. I'm paying £1250/yr at the moment. My first year was £1800 and my 2nd was £700, but I moved so it jumped up to £1250 for my area. Sucked, but it has to be paid for. If you have a job you'll be OK and can pay monthly. Otherwise you're going to find it hard. First year is normally 2k or more on most cars.
@abyssunderground I know French cars can be a pain for parts disassembling themselves, is it the same for the 306? Or are they adequately put together?
When you've got a quality Peugeot like yours...starting is never a problem!!!!!
I've got 4 now and I started my 205 GTI a few weeks ago for the first time since last summer and it fired on the button and ran like I used it the day before. I didn't even charge the battery!!!
Hope the hospital wasn't too serious and that you're ok now!!!
All of us round here with our old Peugeots have "Old Pugs NEVER die" on the bottom of our number plates...haha!!! :)

@VOLVORULEZ1995 The 306 wont fall apart on you unless your excessively obese and run it on cooking oil.
One of the best handling cars of all time.
