  • Rock en la playa de la victoria!! Victoria beach !!

  • I apologize about today's crappy music or whatever this modern thing is. FU JUSTIN BIEBER

  • @KingofDrums19 this song is sarcastic. Rockaway Beach was a dump then and it's still a dump now.

  • @crazyVIDSguy lol me too and i'm in my 30's. Yes, this song is that old. Good songs are TIMELESS.

  • @crazyVIDSguy Me too

  • @crazyVIDSguy Why does everyone under 18 on youtube want everyone to know their age?

  • @bluebettle Yeah, it's like if you're not a legal adult you have to broadcast how old you are on every video of a song that's not from their generation because you feel guilty or something because your generation spawned such shitty music or something.

  • @DrivinHanyou Funny thing is that music of their generation doesn't even suck, they're just not old enough to get into the bars where the good new bands get their gigs

  • @crazyVIDSguy me too.. I'm only 12 :P. Polska pozdrawia xd

  • @allgrownupvideo Rockaway Beach is a part of Queens.

  • The Ramones never left the planet earth

  • 1234 <3

  • love playing this song when I go to rockaway beach 8-)

  • RAMONES are the best thing that ever happened to Rock'n'Roll .

  • @deedeecapone woow dont go that far, they are a awesome punk rock band... not rock n roll.

  • @JordanEvans3794 With stronger rock 'n' roll influences than most punk bands. Being as there was no such thing as punk when they started in 1974, I think they considered themselves a rock 'n' roll band.

  • i love dee dees countdown1234!

  • this song, the Beachboys turbocharged!!!

  • Chewing OUT a rythym...

  • Dee Dee Ramone (L) & Joey Ramone (L)

  • Drugs have been an an insperation for some great tunes/ they have also been the destruction of the great tune players...The fact is that it is not the drug that kills it is the abuse that drug......A drug without the abuser becomes an inanimate object.....so the choice is & will always be ours.......

  • @bundlerun

Drugs, guns, Nuclear Bombs, flamethrowers...all inanimate objects. Still not sure I trust my neighbour with one though...or a rock and roll guitar player. :-)

    More importantly; RAMONES ROCK!

  • 7 people dont like the beach

  • It's not hard to reach - I live on Long Island!

    Favorite Ramones song.

  • Rockaway Bitch

  • I didn't attack you -- I corrected you.

Alcohol is a drug. Let's keep that straight in our minds here. And every single member of AC/DC either is or has been a serious alcohol abuser. That is what killed Bon Scott. The situation that led up to his demise was brought about as the result of many years of serious alcohol abuse.

I already said that I am not condoning drug use. But at the same time, I am not going to ignore the fact that two-thirds of the music we love was partly drug inspired.

  • @Tessmage

Yeah you're very right, but you know, drug issue ain't so simple as: "He did use drugs and he did not. Period."

Miles Davis is a good example - he was addicted to heroin in mid 50's, but got out of it and for the rest 35 years of his career he was "clean". So is fact that in his taking almost 50 years career he used drugs for no longer than a few years? I don't think so.

And maybe we should stop wondering about somebody's adventures with drugs and just listen to The Ramones ;)

  • ITS IMPOSIBAL TO RECOVER FROME RAMONES HANGOVER

  • good song for bus excursions

Everyone singing Rock Rock Rockaway Beach!

  • cant decide wich 1s better rockaway beach or sheena is a punk rocker ahh dont give a shit both epic songs but pinheads way better

  • R.I.P Dee Dee, gone today on June 5th. Say no to drugs.

  • @cheriansrule

That's a noble sentiment. But have you considered the possibility that, without the drugs, Dee Dee may not have written as well as he did..? A lot of his inspirations came from... shall we say... an addled consciousness. It may not be desirable to think of it that way... but the truth rarely is.

We've lost many talented musicians to drug abuse. But it is also true that a lot of their creative insights were heavily influenced by drug abuse. It's a no-win situation.

  • @Tessmage i'd rather have the person than the music, don't get me wrong i love the music but the greatest writers don't need the drugs

  • @cheriansrule

If it hadn't been for his music, then you would never have known about the person.

Can you name any great writers who did -not- use drugs..? Because I've been sitting here trying to think of an answer to that question and in truth, I can not think of a single brilliant rock musician who didn't indulge in some sort of intoxicant. Except maybe for Ted Nugent... but in his case, mental illness has supplanted drug abuse, so it's all relative.

  • @Tessmage I know i wouldn't have known the person, but the people close to him would still have him around. And i don't think Neil Young has used narcotics or let it influence is writing, if you consider him great. I think he's pretty good.

  • @cheriansrule

Neil Young was a heroin addict for several years and it very definitely influenced his writing.

  • @Tessmage I never knew that, but at the very least he quit and wrote songs to discourage the use of drugs like Needle and the Damage Done.

  • @cheriansrule

    Cherian,

Neil wrote that song WHILE he was using heroin. Look up the history. And he continued to use it for several years afterward.

  • @Tessmage Well, i'm just glad he didn't get himself killed and I'm sure he wishes that his friends hadn't died from using heroin eitheir. But the song still discourages the use and narcotics and so does Young(at least now he does).

  • @Tessmage

    Frank Zappa dude!

    Robert Fripp!

As far as I know Chuck Berry and 50's rock 'n' roll singers didn't use drugs too.

  • @Tessmage

    Oh and AC/DC folks too

  • @MasterrFlamaster

"As far as I know" is not a statement of fact. Do more research, because you are very wrong. For example, have you forgotten that AC/DC's first singer (Bon Scott) died from alcohol abuse..? And did you know that Chuck Berry was an alcohol and marijuana user, as well as being a pedophile..?

In any case, citing exceptions does not invalidate the norm.

I am not trying to condone drug use, I am just pointing out a fact. And not liking a fact does not make it any less true.

  • @Tessmage

Wow wow dude, chill the fuck out.

First of all, to make everything straight, Scott death was caused by choking on his own vomit. Also Young brothers attitude against drugs is also widely known.

Secondary I've never "didn't like" fact that drugs are common in popular music industry, starting with early New Orleans jazz, ending on today. But these "exceptions" ain't so rare to call 'em "exceptions"! And I certainly didn't want to "attack" you for what you wrote!

  • Freekin KILLIN it !!!! My favorite Ramones tune--love it !!
