  • gay. hate it

  • @chocokitty111 obvsly ur not taiwanese

  • @InYoFace21 yea. im not. the ling zhi ling is even spelled wrong. the ling @ the end it's the zero ling. not jolin's name...

  • @chocokitty111 Jolin and lin zhiling are two different people...

    Jolin Tsai = 蔡依林 > cai4 yi1lin2

    Lin Chi Ling = 林志玲 > lin2 zhi4ling2

But yeah it is written as 零 'zero', which although it is wrong, could be interpreted as a pun playing on the fact that he thinks that she is nothing compared to 台妹.

Well... taimei literally means taiwanese girls, but it's actually a very special hmm... type of girls. They were (in)famous for selling betel nuts wearing just bikini swim suits for example. So yeah... They are just special type of girls, therefore not all (not even 25%) of taiwanese are taimei.

  • how can somebody call that dumb song '' hip-hop''?? really bad, anyways, I understand that it's an other culture...

  • @b0rn2bepker

You have to be part of that culture to enjoy that song. Otherwise it's just noise.

  • @b0rn2bepker i wouldn't call this "hip-hop" either...doesn't really represent how great taiwan/chinese hip-hop can be...he's a pretty talented rapper (since rapping in mandarin is pretty hard) but i saw on some variety show that he REALLY can't sing...at all....(=.=)

  • @b0rn2bepker if you don't understand the song then why don't you fucking shut your mouth ?

  • 請大家參考唱的饒舌音樂: *****/watch?v=G07_Os2JvfI

  • @eminemxu27 啊!很抱歉。。my last comment sounded mean! was meant to be friednly!

  • I motherfucking love this guy

  • I Know your posts are already a reflection of your idiotic mind! LIKE I SAID--GET A FUCKIN LIFE!!! NO ONE IS MISLEADING ANYONE! YES I AM TAIWANESE AND AMERICAN--F'IN PROUD OF IT! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU???! A VIDEO AND SONG IS MEANT FOR INTERPRETATION! as an artist, MC hotdog is appreciative of you keeping his song alive! He is Taiwanese--good friends with BIG DOG G who has a strong Taiwanese consciousness! I believe when he says he love TaiMei--GO ask him yourself! pathetic ONEGENITAL!!!!

  • Haha. What I do know, and I think what all readers on here now know, is that you are very, very stupid.

Also considering you have only been to Taiwan 10 times in your life, you must have spent a lot of time in the US? In which case I am surprised by how poor your English is - I get the impression you actually confuse yourself sometimes with your rather torturous writing.

  • I can assure you that I write *exactly* the way I talk - and if it sounds English it is because I *am* English. BTW, how does "Queen's English" sound "broken"? Surely it is the epitome of correctness?

If kjcdpm really speaks like he writes, I do fear for him. I did not reproach him for being American, I reproached him for his poor grasp of the English language, which I stand by.

However, I am glad to see you agree that I am entirely correct in my analysis, compared to his.

  • @Edwardhx810 I have to agree on unigenitus with your comment here...You have the right to freedom of speech (as do I since I'm American as well), but criticism and commentation are usually taken more seriously when you take out all the unnecessary swearing... Cursing right and left just makes you sound uncivilized and ill-mannered...

  • It is true the mainlanders are concentrated to the north--basically Taipei, but native taiwanese--holo and then hakka are the majority in terms of ethnicity. votes are not always on ethnic lines but Taiwan centric votes have been casted and won in the north too! Again Ilan, Taoyuan, and Taipei county are examples! i wonder if you truly understand the underlying Taiwan and Taiwanese demographic, and sociopolitical dynamics! not if you come with chinese eyes! It's only a fucking song! grow up

  • You may or may not be Taiwanese; but you are certainly a moron. This song CANNOT be interpreted "whichever way" , it can be interpreted ONE correct way and that is the way I outlined. You have completely misunderstood what the song means and in so doing demonstrated your own ignorance and unsophistication. It may only be a song, but at least understand what it means. Your silly comments may mislead people on these boards reading about the song. You should not post what you do not know about.

  • I respect your Opinion but I can also see you're a pain in the ass. Let me say this--I am Taiwanese as well as my wife. Been to Taiwan over ten times! 3 groups? OK vis a vis the song. From a Taiwan centric view-all ethnic groups are Taiwanese--then Tai-mei vs Zhongkuo (china). IF domestically in Taiwan-then you could refer to native Taiwanese vs mainlander. I know very clearly! a song can be interpreted whatever way! but you made a generalizationn-northern taiwan: chinese??? wrong!

  • My point is very clear. As far as McHotdog is concerned. His song is about him loving Taiwanese girls more (including all girls in taiwan) and not Chinese (from China). He has a strong Taiwanese national identity as reflected by his friendship with Jeremy Huang and Twa-ki (big dog g). It is not a bad thing to be a tai-ke any way--A sense of Taiwanese identity--independent of whatever stereotype-it can be turned around. watch those TWN mandarin shows & some of those mainland girls are flakes

  • You are plain wrong. He is NOT talking about loving ALL girls in Taiwan, he is differentiating between the stereotype of 台妹 and the stereotype of 外省 girls. Again I am not commenting on whether the stereotypes are concerned are correct, I am only explaining the meaning of the song. He in NO WAY refers to 大陆 girls, you are severely missing the point if you think he is.

  • In fact in general you really need to tighten up your language otherwise no-one will understand what on earth you are talking about. There are three types of girls being discussed on this thread:

    1. "台妹" (Taiwanese origin, based in Taiwan, mainly in the south)

    2. 外省 / "中国女孩" (Chinese origin, based in Taiwan, mainly in the north)

    3. 大陆 (mainlanders, based on the mainland)

Now please explain who you are referring to.

  • @unigenitus u funny chinese girl mean girls from Taipei? thats stupid girl grow up! dont make urself look like a chinese

  • You still haven't explained which of the three types of girls you are referring to.

IF you are insisting that he is talking about not liking 大陆 girls, again you are plain WRONG. You have misunderstood a crucial cultural reference here and it makes me question whether you have even been to Taiwan, let alone know about it.

    Please explain yourself.

  • As far as Taike is concerned. It was meant to be a negative thing perpetuated by the mainlanders as being more "elite". In reality, the general Taiwanese populace look down on the mainlanders on many counts--if you want to stereotype. yet many of those styling girls in Taipei or whatever may actually be Holo or Hakka-not necessarily mainlander. Stereotypes in taiwan have political undertones!

  • but what does " wo ai tai mei" mean?

  • i love taiwanese girls

  • ni hao!

    Wo ai 妓女 妇女!

    lol (<

  • This song is wicked nice! greetings from Sweden

  • @Ayak00 lol im also from sweden :P

  • @monnitran i'm not from sweden.

  • I should also add, that it portrays with a humorous but endearing cliche the northern perceptions of southerners and their lives. The idea that they are all corrupt gangsters; that they all go around chewing betel nut, &c. It is a self-celebration of the sub-culture felt by the south against the cultural encroachments of the "sophisticated", conservative north.

  • Yes krazyh808 and guyverseven are entirely correct. This song is a profound social commentary on the current state of social and political integration between the northern and southern parts of Taiwan. The "zhong guo xiao jie" is is referring to are the upper class "wai sheng" from Taipei and the reaches of KMT society, whilst Tai Mei are the more indigenous peoples of the south, particularly Kaohsiung, Tainan and Kenting who vote DPP.

  • just because you live in Taipei does not mean you are mainlander! many native Taiwanese live in Taiwan and being the majority ethnicity (Holo and Hakka), all peoples of socioeconomic status are present! Remember, the mainlanders are also stereotyped as dirty and ignorant-the view of the Taiwanese seeing the kmt army and vets whereas the Twnese elite outside of politics made Taiwan what it is today. Many well known Taiwanese in media/pop culture/sports/business are from the South!

  • I am not sure exactly what your point is here. I am not saying that 台妹 only live in the south, I am just pointing out a broad sociological division between northern and southern Taiwan, as demonstrated by recent electoral politics. 台妹 are seen as coarser than 外省 girls, that's a fact.

  • My point is very clear! what do you mean by coarser??? Many girls in the north--being where Taipei is--that is where things are trendier--that has nothing to do with what ethnicity you are--many of those girls are Taiwanese. your point is very general and vague. in terms of electoral politics--Ilan and Taoyuan are Green strongholds traditionally--northern! Well the fact is those mainlander girls are dumbasses--that's a fact--a pure blanket statment!

  • Not really, you are creating a straw man here. I am not arguing about what people ARE. I am explaining what the stereotype in this song REFERS to. Do you deny that there is a stereotype of what a 台妹 is? Do you deny that, broadly, the stereotype of a 台妹 refers to girls from Kaohsiung / Tainan? Or do you not think this song is talking about them? What is your point?

  • Also, you use language too loosely. There is no mention of "mainland girls" in the song - who are you talking about? And I think you will find that the sentence

    "those mainlander girls are dumbasses"

is not a fact, whereas my sentence

台妹 are seen as coarser than 外省 girls

is a fact. I don't know whether there is a language problem here or what but you posts do not make sense.

  • Also I should point out that specifically, the line "我不爱中国小姐 is referring to a programme on Taiwanese TV which puts the northern 外省 girls on a pedestal for cultural (and some would say, political) reasons.

  • can someone send me a link where i can download this song or songs from him (like Hip Hop Honeys, ha gou bang etc) thanks so much

  • I think the meaning is more like guyverseven said. 中國小姐 in this song just means a certain style of girl, like prissy style girls from Taipei. The lyrics of the song are about real 台妹, basically country girls. On the album there is a skit before this song where MC Hotdog tells a prissy girl the reason he doesn't like her is because "你不是台妹." In that skit, the girl sounds like she is a prissy 撒嬌 Taipei girl, not from mainland China.

  • This is so ridiculous! why use china girls for Taipei? although it is a mainlander Taiwanese stronghold, many native Taiwanese make Taipei home as well--and are make up the city girls! as well!! Remember the native Taiwanese are the majority populace--so all socioeconomic groups are found and dispersed.

  • your description may be true but the context of this video is above your meaning. TaiMei (DaiBi) here is referring to Taiwanese girls all over Taiwan (including Taipei ones). He is loving and preferring Taimei (Taiwanese beauties) as opposed to Chinese ones. Hence the line Wo bu ai chongkuo shiao zhe. meaning i do no like chinese girls (from china) but prefer Taiwanese girls!

  • the video is more about a social commentary on the prissy valley girls white trash version of taiwan. its a satire, he doesnt actually prefer them

  • Good song, but Random ass video.

  • we only knew the wo ai tai mei, tai mei ai wo LOL

  • we sang this song on the bus karaoke when going down south trip in Taiwan!! =D

  • when i bought my car from some chinese guy he left a mc hot dog cd behind. listened to the cd and instantly liked this song!

  • @just1nsays

    AHAHAHAHHAHA

  • @just1nsays for real?

  • @just1nsays ROFL THATS FUKIN FUNNY

  • RULES!

  • English subs are a little hard, cuz some of the lyrics are tied with colloquial speak. It could be done, but it would require a lot of parenthesis to explain stuff.

  • chinese mc's rip on this dude because he's so commercial. it's slightly more hip hop than jay chou

  • Nice song" Only think that add subtitles in english for we understand. Hugs from Brazil.

  • Nice song didnt rlly like the mv

  • why the hell is his name mc hotdog.......>.>;;...just wondering

  • mc because when he was just getting into hip hop, mc hammer was popular and hotdog cuz his nickname was hotdog. he said this on a show

  • like i got the mc part...but like....hotdog...really XD.......just seems kinda funny....

  • because his nickname when he was small was hot dog.

and when he was small, he really liked mc uh...i forgot which one.

    so yah

  • yo, he's got sick ass flow, but the lyrics could use a bit of work on the lyrical content. nice track though.

  • LOLOL THEY SPELL
