  • Saw Bruce in 1981 at the Meadowlands Arena in NJ...3 straight hours of solid rock. Final encore song: Twist and Shout. I remember it vividly to this day. Great job editing in the other concert footage, it really gives a sense of what his shows were really like in the early 80s.

  • What power, and energy. Awesome performance, I love that song!

  • It's amazing the human mass at 3:10! OMFG!

  • The living King at His best.

  • Happy Birthday, Bruce! The visual editing midway through this video is incredible...one of the best mixes I've ever seen. The sea of waving arms at "highway's jammed with broken heroes" is still breathtaking.

  • Happy birthday, BOSS! Italy loves you!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUCE!!!

Thank you soo much for ll your incredible music!!

    Greetings from Norway:)

  • Bruce is one of the best artists of all time. Amazing concerts! He turns 60 today. Happy birthday:D 40 years in the game.. I hope for 40 more:) Best wishes from Norway...:)

  • Forget about U2, forget about queen.... the Boss is the ultimate essence of rock n roll.He redefined the whole 80's and his music still seems as new as ever. For me Bruce is the most influential artist of all time and the most significant act in rock n roll after the Beatles.

  • This tour must've been amazing, look at how active those massive crowds are! Not to mention the band's crazy behaviour on stage! I've yet to go to a concert that has even near the same kind of atmosphere like some of the clips shown in this video!

  • We miss you Danny! We miss you so much!

  • God bless The Boss!

  • this is a "speeding ticket" song for sure

  • this song represents so many people so well. this song makes me dream high. im in an usigned english rock band fcalled the brink and live in a dead end town where people seem 2 beleive they cant make anything with there lives, and its songs like this that give inspiration n hope 2 dream bigger

  • This is the real Rock.

  • how far has run then?

  • BRUCE ISN"T A

  • awesome song! greets form germany ;-)

  • just one of those songs u cannot listen to unless its cranked up to full volume with the windows down driving along

  • If Bruce woudlnt have written what he wrote and i wouldnt ever heard of it my life wouldnt make any scence... =)

  • Holy Sh** that was a long time ago

  • ROCK ON!~!

  • This is one of the greatest songs of all time.

IN MY OWN OPINION...I feel I need to state that to deter the losers who sit here waiting to criticise everybody's every comment...

Brucey rocks and he aint done yet!

  • brucey is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love him so much.

  • 学生時代に、ビデオテープが擦り切れるぐらい観てたのを思い出します!!

  • ive to disagree. iam as a german HATE everything out of the UK, i realy cant listen to this bullshit. everything created over there sounds like some retarted gay faggots try to sing..nope...

acdc, metallica, bruce...those are nic groups..

    back to bruce:

i dont believe that many understand the meaning of stuff like born in the usa. born in the usa is NOT an PRO US song...

  • Thats alright coz everyone else in the world just hates Germany anyway :)

  • best. rock. tune. ever.

  • I haven't been at his famous 1985-tour concert in Frankfurt-Waldstadion (1:57) - my brother asked me - but I (in 1985 12 years young) didn't now a Bruce Springsteen - AAAAAARG !!!!!! :o(

  • he's a big inspiration to all musicians

wanna learn to play some bruce?

maybe my vids will help you to put it alll together

  • I don't understand american music.

  • words cannot begin to explain why you are such an r-tard.

  • BRUCE IS GOD!!!!!!

  • who else got the shivers there? the guys got it. great songs, great band, great performer, and the fact he seems pretty humble is just pure brillliance!!

  • Just to let all Bruce fans know, there's a really interesting documentary on YT called "The Making of Born to Run". Hardly anyone has seen it, but it's well worth a look!

  • McFly rock =D

and Danny from McFly thinks this is the best song ever so I like it too =D

  • im looking at this coz of mcfly too.

but i love him anyways. (:

  • This song goes out to USAIN BOLT!! =)

  • esta canción es una subida de adrenalina! me encantaa!

  • born to run, born to sing !!!

this the Boss!!! Thanks for all.

  • i love this song

  • Y are you lashing out at me, i think he is amazing and i think he is very tallented but im just dont think he is the boss.

Y CANT YOU JUST RESPECT MY OPINION, i fully respect yours.

  • tamberineman i just would not say that without getting bashed

  • wow at about 3:10 not sure what location it's from but the song reflects it all, a whole croud syncronized from this song

  • he doesn't call himself the boss.. if anything.. it's been said he doesn't like the name!

  • for me its quite simple

best in U.K = Rolling Stones

best in U.S = Bruce Springsteen

  • best worldwide = the boss with a close second place stones ;) and dylan

  • how is it quite simple! when you pick rolling stones before the beatles

  • because my friend the beatles suck and u know it

  • Y have you started hating on the beatles that is just totaly irelevant.

I didnt do anything to you.

And if the beatles sucked, how come they were named by rolling stone magazine as the greatest rock artists of all time.

  • friend. no. ur mums friend yes, the beatles suck haha wake up u soft twat

  • lol, fool

  • thats just retarded

  • i said for me its quite simple.

and btw the beatles are one of the greatest band in the studio but they arent even in the same league as the stones or springsteen when it comes to playing live

  • Yeah he is and i do know it, he's the boss

  • my boss isnt the best in the world either

but hes still the boss :-)

check out my band third connection see what u think

search for third connection simple things

    cheers

  • he himself hasn't given him the name "boss". his band gave him the name because after the gigs he always shared the money they got for the concert so they called him the boss...

  • he didnt calll himslef the boss

    his fans did

  • it was actually a nickname the members in the band gave hime. As when they first started out bruce used to get the money they got for each show and divided it between the band.

  • so what if he's not the best (i personally think he is) the way he got all of the fans so hyped up was incredible and he is very talented

  • Haha he doesn't call himself the boss at all lol. It was said that he doesn't like the name because he sees himself and the band as equals!

  • I'm only fifteen, and my friends think i'm weird, because Bruce Springsteen is my favourite artist, but, with videos like this, how could anybody else be better ? He's a rock legend.

  • You're right my friend!

And don't let anyone tell you different.

    Keep on rockin' :)

  • Your friends are weird :>

  • one of the best songs ever :)

  • one of the greatest performers ever!!

    great footage

    great song!!

  • Great look alike!!!

  • one of the great songs of all time! just listen to the way it makes u feel. like u can do anything!

  • Oh wow, Nils Lofgren had one of these impossibly UGLY jagged-form, flashy-painted guitars. :D Don't look at it, it may distract you from seeing one great rock guitarist. *g*

  • bonangusacdc i completely agree with you

  • This guy is more of a legend than Michael Jackson.

  • you are completely right

  • Hell yeah he is. Michael Jackson has nothing on Bruce.

  • he's a freak of nature!

  • freakshow,, love it!!

  • I missed Hampden due to work. Was Hampden good? I heard the sound system could have been better though?

  • I was at Hampden 14/7/09 - The Boss was amazing!!!!

  • Hampden really did kick arse :)

  • the sound was shite at hampden but they were still brilliant

  • simply one the best songs of all time. They call him the Boss for a reason!

  • Bono once said that standing infront of drummer Larry Mullen every night was like getting a good kickin'.With a power drummer like Max behind him ,it's a wonder Bruce is still standing!!!

    ROCK ON MAX.

  • What a sexy backside at 1:40....

Now he´s 60 years old and sexy, sexy, sexy.....

I love him and his great music! :-*

  • they ALL float down here

  • Amazing Bruce

  • A very young Max Weinberg at 0:53 and 3:01

  • Tramps Like us. Hell yeah. Hampden was amazing!!!!

  • Hampden was unreal!! Best gig EVER!!!!

  • Seen my hero at pinkpop this year, after waiting for many damn years! And ot was worth waiting...All show long I enjoyed all his tunes, but when this story came by, i really went NUTS! Love the Boss, love the band and love my woman!!!

  • probably the greatest songer

  • Dead Like Harry

  • 23:46

  • is he as people friendly behind the scenes? he looks very down to earth or is that just part of his act

  • TIME 2 RUN

  • quick, WHAT TIME IS IT??

  • 22:18..

  • It's BOSS time

  • Bruce is The Boss

  • Yes he is good, but.......... went to see him in Hyde Park London 2 weeks ago. Did not sing his older stuff, I suppose I am stuck in the past a bit. Thankfully he sang Born to Run and Dancing in the Dark though.... but love his Pete Segers stuff

  • Yeh he did he sang couple of tracks from Born in The USA, Rosy, a couple of songs from Born to Run, out in the street and so on

  • simply awesome stuff from the man who will go down in history as legend.

  • derbsturm54

I'll bow to what appears to be your seperior inside knowledge. I'm a pro rock musician myself and the guitarist in my band amoungst other axes plays a very old Tele' a 1965, a bit battered but still a great sound. Bruce's 1949 model must be one of the very first made, now here a question for you do you know how many times he has had it re-fretted in that time !!!!!!!

  • Bruce axe is a Fender Telcaster, the esquire version is I'm fairly certain a fairly recent "sub spices" of the Telcaster. How old it is I wouldn't like to say but 1953 sounds a bit suspect, it looks a bit too good for that.

  • sold my xbox to get tickets to his gig in dublin on saterday!!

  • im there 2.... shud be epic

  • Bruce's guitar is a 1953 fender esquire :)

  • He still uses the same guitar.. very nice ;)

  • love his telecaster anyone know the exact modle he plays?

  • i only know it is a Fender Telecaster ;)

  • The Boss rocks. Look at those guns!

  • The sax solo really makes the song perfect :D

  • No1 could compare with him in the eighties,,saw him sheffield england n i still get goose bumps now thinking bout it.brilliant.

  • Amazing song...but wow,he looks soo much better now!!

  • Oh to grow up with this, I would have loved to Grow up in 70's-80's The real years of rock

  • This is possibly the greatest song every made. Even better live.

  • god i love this song!

  • Greatest live rock song ever, first saw them in 1980 and just saw them in San Jose, Phoenix and Denver and this song will always have people standing, yelling and pumping their fist...forever

  • he was HOT!!!! BlazinG!!!!!!!

  • Bruce is the last true rocker. After him the rock will die completely

  • bruce was hot when he was young. and his music is just totally amazing. he is a great man

  • At 3.21 on the clip the venue was Slane Castle Ireland June 85, i remember it like it was yesterday . To this day i still rate it as the greatest gig i ever had the pleasure to witness . Going to see him in Dublin next Saturday .

  • hey mate, just seen youre off to the RDS to see the boss.. im going to.. bet itll be great :)

  • wish i could go back in time and attend this performance

  • the future of rock n roll!!

  • This is by far the best live performance of Born To Run around, though the version on the Live In Barcelona DVD is cracking.

  • HE IS A LEGEND!!!

  • Wow he really is the Boss can't wait to see you at Hampden Bruce. Love You

  • 1980s???? i swear this song said 1975 on it??

  • yeah, but this live version is from then ;)

  • That's when it was written, recorded & released. The music or should I say LIVE video was shot during the 1984-85 Born In The U.S.A. tour. It mostly features the second last show of the tour on 9/30/85 in L.A. Hope that helps!

  • I was lucky enough to see the Boss at Glastonbury this year. Just me and 40,000 of my closet friends in absolute rapture to this tune. And all without a hint of irony. Legand is not the word for this man. Glory(ious) Daze!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Seen him live, twice! Best nights of my life. You haven´t lived before you seen "the boss" live!

I Love him and you can´t do anything but smile while hearing this song and seing this music video! Love it!

  • I've just got back from his Munich concert, it was my first time seeing him and hopefully will not be my last. Awesome doesn't even come close to describing the performance!

  • Man, i want to see him live! He is clearly "the boss"!

  • I love him

    (he is hot)

  • I saw him at Hyde Park with my family. I am 18 so had never seen him before but had heard some of his stuff, thought he was absolutely brilliant. So talented, the E street band were really good as well.

  • Did i c Stringreenc10 headlining or getting number 1 hits i believe not so unless this changes you have no right to say that .

    We love Bruce (THE BOSS)

  • do you know how many people wish death
