Continuing... And then watch the second one and feel the vibe, that shows that mistakes can be ridden to the right path. That's just gorgeous, it gives you the free will you need in the lonely moments filled with uncertainty and the hope that you can always gotta hope that everything is possible God dammit! Splendid movies these two.
They should have NEVER made a Before Sunrise part 2 (or Before sunset as it was called) because it destroyed the whole concept of the first movie. That whole movie was a metaphor for life and death, how little time we have on this planet. That end scene where they say goodbye and the french cow Celine gets on the train was a metaphor for death and then they show goofball Jesse lost. That movie was a work of art and it was destroyed by making a sequel.
It's almost amazing that lyrics such as these get written. I have been into Daniel now for about a month. I've bought, Welcome To My World, 1990, and Artistic Vice. Pure heart is not something written by the swill of artists such as Ricky Martin or Christ, more than half the stuff pushed upon us in between commercials for Folgers coffee and Car Dealerships. It's written by people who hardly sometimes ever get heard. Kathy did a great job on this one too. And thank you Daniel.
Very well said. When you hear lyrics like this you realise just how depressingly drab and stale mainstream music has become. Or probably always was. It's a miracle daniel johnston gets any attention at all in the current climate but thank God he does. He makes my nose run and my heart beat faster
great cover of a fantastic original by daniel johnston. And of course, awesome movies. Both Sunrise and Sunset are great as well. The combination of this song/memories from the film/and the thoughts that conjure in my head while listening literally bring a tear to my eye.
This is a great song, but the translation to YouTube seems to have been done through a straw. This song sounded way better on the Before Sunrise DVD. Can you repost with a higher quality recording? Thanks!
i get your point but i really don't think the 2nd part destroyed the 1st one,Before Sunrise is great but it ended inconclusive waiting for the sequel,so now it's complete and it's a great story!!
They NEVER should have made a sequel to this movie because it destroyed the whole premise of the first movie. The first movie "Before Sunrise" was a metaphor for doing all you can before you die. What this second movie do was destroy all that. I mean WTF?
and isn't creating a sequel doing all you can before you die? At least they tried. Who cares if they failed. You still have the first movie. And your own life.

Man... what a great version of a great song! (sniff, sniff) But what's up with the sound quality? It kinda sounds like it was shot in a movie theater with a camcorder. Not that I'm complaining- just curious.
Also, do you have any video of Kathy performing at SXSW in 1995? I was there for that show- she was amazing! Actually, I'd love to see any live videos of her- she rawks! ;)
Haha, wow, the song fits really well with Before Sunrise and especially the clips here.
Though, I can't help but feel like Daniel's original message doesn't come through at all. That's not entirely a bad thing, because for as much as I love DJ's music, it's pretty impressive to give the song a whole new meaning...and still be good.
Oh man.. I just covered this, I learnt this from the end of before sunrise aswell when i was about 14 before I even knew it was a daniel johnston song.. please dont sue me ='''(
listen to the eels version, much better!

i see where you got that entire concept edhallick, but that's honestly just your perspective and opinion.
just because celine gets on a train doesn't necessarily mean it's "death".
this movie was about reality and life.
that's what I got out of it, and how people can make mistakes, crucial ones.
french cow? I'd hardly say that. She's gorgeous.
the sequel put peace at heart to all the viewers that wanted to know what happened, yet still left us on a brilliant cliffhanger.

This song is great, really goes with the movie (which I love). I get chills up my spine just from seeing the little bits of the scenes.
