  • Science flies you to the stars. Religion flies you into buildings.

  • Why does Matt keep fondling the flying spaghetti monster.

  • question god, tell him you are not sure if you beleive in him and he will reveal himself.

god talks to everyone... its different for everyone u just have to keep an open mind.

my personal experience was when i looked outside and saw i tree id never noticed before in my front yard.. i cannot explain it but i instantly knew it was god.

  • @Turner324 Wow, a tree, then maybe that bit of pasta i found truly did meen that the flying spagetti monster exists.

  • @Turner324 said "question god, tell him you are not sure if you beleive in him and he will reveal himself.

I can explain it. Google Confirmation Bias

and wishful thinking. If we want to see signs of something badly enough, we will imagine that we do.

  • God visited me last night. He told me that in exactly 2 hours time he would seize to exist, leaving nothing to proove that he ever existed. He also said that he wished that henceforth everyone would be atheist since there would be no hell to go to or no heaven for that place either and the world would stop fighting over religion. Everyone was right btw, he was just shizzo. Thats my personal evidence for there not being a god.

Maybe you can see the problem with this kind of "evidence" too now?

  • I find it humorous that the background image makes Matt appear to be on a cross...

  • I have a personal experience of God every day, I go on the "big white telephone to God" in my Bathroom and send my pleas and sacred messages.

afterwards I flush to hang up.

    then wash my hands

religion is big on personal hygiene for this reason I suspect.

I am not special though, anyone can communicate with a deity if they have been blessed with a working bowel. oh, remember to wipe up prayers too, they leave skid marks on the devout as a mark of their profound holiness.

  • I suggest you all watch a movie called "Frailty"

    Very good movie.

  • I had a revelation where god and jesus told me that they never ever appeard to anyone before and they never ever will again because they are going on a holiday which will last 60000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 billion years. Thought you should know.

  • They told me it would last 600000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000 billion years, I spose i was just dreaming... dang.

  • doubt is humble

  • Great work.

  • you let your subconscious anxieties and desires govern your life unchecked, you will develop all kinds of delusions. 'i can't die', 'someone is watching over me', 'my dead mother talks to me', 'some higher power is sending me signs'... all you need then is a group of people who fancy the same kind of delusion and meet once a week to perform one ridiculous ritual or another. suddenly it looks even more real. if you can just find some 'priest' and dress him up in fancy clothes...

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAaaaaaa

Thats one of the best analogies I think I have heard so far on YouTube!!!!

Dress him up in fancy clothes!! PMSL! ;-)

  • LOL they love the FSM!

  • While we cannot argue with somebody's personal experience, we can still judge their actions. I've seen nothing that suggests these people are anything other than deluded. I hope I never get such a personal experience myself. Should it happen, then I hope my family and friends can convince me to visit a psychiatrist.

  • god kills in mysterious ways lol

  • Some claim that OBE (out of body experience) proves their is a soul and thus a god. Having had these personal experiences since 10 years old, I'm still an atheist and only find them to be fascinating manifestations of the brain. What other PE could possibley top such an experience to make someone think there is a god?

  • just to pan out your point, some people claim their OBE's are proof of aliens, People see what they want to see.

  • - an acid trip.

not for me, but i can see how it could. Matter of fact acid only strengthened my non-belief.

  • Same here.

Acid helps one realize how fallible the human brain and sentient experiences are.

I don't know that I would recommend LSD to others, but I don't regret my extensive past use of it.

  • here here!

I recommend it to those who are already considering it. It's the ultimate eye-opener.

  • I have no use for those kind of drugs; I'm taking enough legal ones now just to stay alive. I'll try it just before taking my last breath; that should be one hell of a trip.

  • oh, man. That's sad to hear. Had I known your situation I would have approached my response a bit lighter.

  • Use your freedom of speech without regret nor intimidation. My comment was not intended to stifle your response. I'm an atheist, not a Muslim who will kill you nor a Scientologist who will sue you. Words do not cause me pain of any kind.

    Thanks for the consideration though.

  • @DustyMay1944 There are 1.6 million murders of innocent babies every year in america through abortion. 20,000 murders.. violence does not come from religion it comes from humans, christian, muslum, athiests agnostics alike

  • Comment removed

  • @YourGodIsDeaD311 Yes you are so smart, God is litterally murdering people when he takes back the life that he gave us isnt he..? in fact it should be Gods moral responsibility to prolongue everybodys life even though its his life that he gave you in the first place? But thank goodness God is mercifull and graciously accepts all babies into heaven. even as America fill dumpsters full or aborted foetus'.Is a man more just than God, if god takes a life he gave, or if man takes a life God gave.

  • @acceptjesusorburn whether or not there is a god and he gave us life...you at least accept hes a murderer thats good enough for me...I'm glad you understand how immoral your god really is.

p.s. A man is more than god because men actually can be proven to exist.

  • @YourGodIsDeaD311 yes i was using sarcasm. Please dont embarrass yourself in front of everyone. It would not be unlawful or immoral for God to take life if he in fact gave life. Your argument is pure speculation. Considering what we call murder is based upon Gods given law from Genesis in the first place, its a matter of stealing from God, in the case of his omniscient perspective of time and outcomes, God would be the only one justified in chosing when best to give or take back life, not humans.

  • @YourGodIsDeaD311 p.s If God created everything observable, then anything observable would be proof of God. What your actually referring to as a need to believe in God based upon miraculous and supernatural events rather than His natural existence seen in his creation. So once you logically accept this immediate possibility, you must accept that personal relation and interaction with God would have to come through personal investigation rather than observation of the creation.

  • @acceptjesusorburn The only way to prove something exists is to have physical evidence of that particular thing itself. Everything else is wishful thinking. Obviously im judging your god my man's standard of morality....if he can't even measure up to mans standard he most likely doesn't exist.

p.s. proving god doesn't mean your brand of theism is true.

  • @YourGodIsDeaD311 If the human race existed without eyes we would consider mojority evidence based upon what we can hear and feel, we would have no conception or interest in cosmology, mathematics because they wouldnt apply to our visiul physical stimulus. would that then mean that the cosmos do not exist or any of the abstract concepts strictly related to visial stimulus, evidence is based upon Curent observation. So to say that something only exists if you have evidence is embarrassing.

  • @acceptjesusorburn based upon current observation we can only explain the universe naturally. every gap filled by science has been filled by natural processes. The concept of god is so non important at this point and it should be embarrassing to still think a personal god exists...based on current observation god has never intervened in human affairs. God of the bible is on the same level of existence as unicorns and fairies. Willful ignorance should be a sin.

  • @YourGodIsDeaD311 I agree that Whether you believe in God is not important at this point in relevance to material and natural observation, Because God created everything observable to us. "based on current observation god has never intervened in human affairs" say what? based upon your current observation not other peoples LOL. I dare you to stand infrot of a truck existence as unicorns and fairies... See if such an uneducated categorization of the truck makes the reality hit less harder.

  • @YourGodIsDeaD311 Besides your claim is of pure speculation, God is interacting with Humans daily according to the Biblical definition of God. You would have to show how God would interact with Humans as opposed to what the bible says is a more valid assuption of Gods nature. we can only assume that x' is false, if a' a' and b' suggest that we should see more evidence of x', than we already do.Its not smart to categorise all religion and fantasy together, the theology is too vast

  • @acceptjesusorburn so what we have learned in this conversation is that your god is a murderer and you don't understand REAL science. Why don't you just say a tree is proof of god. Why dont you go ahead and say the earth is 6k years old and evolution is false while your at it. When a amputees arm grows back then I'll believe in god. I am categorizing all religions that posses a personal god as fantasy because the evidence allows me to do so.

  • @YourGodIsDeaD311 I see you logic is very primative on the subject of religion, you asume that because x' and y' share some common values if y' is falsified then so is x'. and a' and b' and c' to z'. For arguments sake lets agree that God created everything and agrees with Judeo Christianity. Lets say that i falsley come up with a new religion that does not agree with the previous. Does that logically falsify both? There are many spiritually inspired religions that hold spiritual substance

  • @acceptjesusorburn My claim is speculation? haha. YOURS is pure speculation. To claim that a god did this and not only that it was your particular god of jesus that did it is pure nonsense. You have nothing to base it on other than "the universe exists therefore god exists" You are simply another theist who is too scared to admit we hardly know anything about the universe and would rather suspend intelligence than to accept this life is all we get.

  • @YourGodIsDeaD311 Well my claim is not pure speculation its based upon a valid argument. Could you please quote me saying that the universe exists therefore God exist.no i said that If God exists then technically everything created would be proof of his existence. not the other way around.. no need to lie friend. For the record i admit that we harldy know anything about the universe, to say that an God created something doesnt mean you understand it or observe it differently

  • @YourGodIsDeaD311 But why dont you go ahead and give us your "evidence" that allows you to deny God. Its not logical to say that God is a murder because its his life hes giving us in the first place you see hes not taking something that belongs to us originally. likewise God would be the only entity worthy of making such descisions to give or take life based upon his omniscient perspective of every outcome of action. Our descisions to take life are temperal and unfair therefore stealing/ murder.

  • @acceptjesusorburn

"...based upon his omniscient perspective of every outcome of action."

So, before god created me, he knew EVERY decision I would EVER make.

He KNEW I would end up in hell. He created me anyway. If you start on the "free will" shit, you are saying god is NOT omniscient, so weigh you words carefully.

WHATEVER decision i EVER make, he knew in advance.

If that's the case, then fuck you and your god too.

Why would I EVER worship something eager to torture me forever?

  • @tdjdk your obviously not an expert on this subject so please dont rant. For "free will" to be valid, there would have to be the "potential" for many outcomes to exist and you chose as an independant agent which of them becomes "actual" in this finite existence. Even if God knew what descisions you would make, out of many, you free will would still be valid, your an independant agent and you are morally accountable.

  • @tdjdk God is everything that we consider "good" and we consider God good because we are created in his likeness of mind and spirit. Things like terror, pain, and shame that we associate with Hell, are actually a "lack of" God. for example he could have created us so abstract from his own self as to delight in these sensations. God doesnt want you to god to hell, your free will is valid even in his omniscience. Its really easy to be saved and your making an embarrassing argument

  • @acceptjesusorburn how do you know all of what you said to be true? did god tell you?

  • @tdjdk ... i feel bad for you... its never too late to ask god for forgiveness.

  • @acceptjesusorburn

And when do you religious fanatics realize that the claimer needs to provide the evidence. No one else.

If I claim there is a teapot in orbit around Mars, it's not automatically true, until someone disproves me. I ACTUALLY have to prove my claim, or it's invalid.

  • @acceptjesusorburn Then what would be the meaning of calling him perfect or sinless god.

  • @exconguitar mushrooms made me certain that i was an atheist. acid was very awakening as well.. they are very amazing substances and people should not be so afraid of them. with education comes understanding.

  • @casteldredge That's kind of funny because mushrooms & acid made me certain that there was some kind of god. I never believed in Jesus or any other mainstream religion, but when I took shrooms or cid, I made up what ever kind of god I fealt like believing in.

That was when I was 15-17.

I'm 31 now. Of course it's a different experience for everyone.

I havn't touched any drugs (except weed very rarely) in about 7 years now. To each his own though!

  • why is everyone that calls on this show is named tyler?

  • The argument from personal expirence is worthless to any one but the person making it.

    Logic and observable evidence isn't.

  • great vid keep up the good work!

  • Awesome! They have a green screen now!

  • I believe it was AronRa here on YouTube who made an excellent addition to this "personal experience" argument. If I were to see an enoumous dinosaur walking down the street and I'm the only one who saw it at that time, them I must logically deduce my brain created it. But, if I was told I would see it all throughout childhood, I would still have to assume it not real because of the combination of wanting to see it in addition to the brain mis-fire created it.

  • Is that the spaghetti monster? I want one. Give it.

  • no no no that is THEEEEE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER

  • whilst it may not be posible to disprove all subjective experiences of god it is posible to provide alternative explanations of subjective experiences which people interpret as experiencing god.

  • "What makes you so special?" Excellent new point Matt. I haven't heard that one before.

  • I'm sure he's said it ( or possibly Jeff) before in some form or another.

  • Well, it doesn't really matter that much, because it's very trivial to say such a thing.

  • he used the 'what makes you so special' argument to a caller who said they prayed to God to stop the rain and it stopped, matt pointed out that thousands of people pray for God to save them from terminal illness and get nothing, yet one guy who doesn't like rain apparently gets his wish.

  • That's the one.

  • Imagine if God only appeared to one person every year, and always choose abritrary people, usually people who already believe in him, and chose to reveal himself in a manner that could also be perceived to be pure coincidence. "God revealed himself to me by saving my life that time I thought I was having a heart attack... it turns out I wasn't. That's how I know God exists".

  • haha lame

  • :-)
