The PolyCarbonate BENDS like Hell though. - Mine Hit a Zip, and it dented like hell.

On the Plus side though, it was the Zip that got more damage than the MacBook. The plastic is soft, Scratches really really easily, but then it's Extremely Durable, No Cracks No Hardware Damage.

The 13 inch Macbook Pro is way better than the white one. It's worth the extra $200 and you're getting firewire 800 and the SD card slot and a beautiful black bezel and black keyboard. The White one is mainly for basic use.

I have a dualboot going on between OS X and Windows 7 (for Office 2007 for School) .. And plan on installing Ubuntu on it as well. Any tips as how to do such a thing on a MacBook Pro 5,5.

Its extremely straightforward on a Mac, just use Boot camp. Put the disk in, open boot camp, 20 minutes later your up and ready to go.

Get at least the MacBook Pro 15" with the Nvidia 9600 Graphics card. It's a dedicated card and so you'll get better performance out of it.

If you're not playing games you can use the 9400M graphics of the Pro. That's my 2 cents..

This is a nice evolution of the Macbook. For $999USD the new Macbook comes with a 250GB standard HD VS 13" Macbook Pro's 160GB. The white plastic unibody also makes it more rugged than Macbook Pro's aluminum body. The targeted consumers seem to be more of heavy Apple desktop users looking for a commuter laptop they don't have to worry too much about. Otherwise spend the extra $200USD for the 13" Macbook Pro's SD card reader, firewire, and backlit keyboard in a thinner & lighter form factor.

kool I am getting mine for xmas its under the tree, we no some people at the apple store. So we took out this special Warranty, its covers my mac for two years. at the end of the two years I have to Brake my mac, Drop, Smash, whatever. And then they give me a new mac, so i'll be getting the 2012 macbook pro. But what I got right now is really really good, and i'm not the type of person that get a new computer every time a new one comes out. The dude at the apple store just hooked us=)

My brother works at an Apple store, I'll have to ask him about this special warranty. The best way to break your Macbook without raising too much suspicion is to spill water on it (although I'd double check to make sure liquid damage is covered in your special warranty).

My other brother got a similar warranty from Best Buy 10 yrs ago and will be getting his 4th "free" laptop later next year while only paying just $250 total to extend the coverage to his new laptop. He's become a pro at it LoL
