  • This "disconnection" tenet of Scientology reminds me of the "disfellowship" notices which are given to Jehovah's Witnesses.

Same crap, but in a different package.

  • Thank you for posting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I appreciate the information.

  • The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, A16, 1,3

"Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution...The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State."

Other cults declare someone a non-person, but only Scientology will send you a bill for it!

  • Well done. Check another topic off the list.

  • Disconnect happens at the beginning, the middle, or the end. Couples that have been in CO$ for 10 plus years can be forced to disconnect if one leaves the cult. And while most religions practice a form of this, name one religion that sends you to a prison camp (RPF) for speaking to the person who left.

  • um, excommunication happens at the end. Disconnect happens when you join, you have you 'disconnect' from all of those relationships you have with people who are not scientologists.

but I can see how you could liken Excommunication to Disconnection... however, lets remember that no only the catholic church does it, it's pretty common throughout most religion...

but you are right, it's terrifying what people do to each other.
