These things happen because the strength of the character's potential is shown so a very hgih level.

Like Daigo with Ryu, Ryu is 'okay' to me, but his strategies are beyond. That's why people complain Ryu is cheap.

He was decent from what I've heard from people that have actually met him in person. Winnings for SBO are shitty. The japanese stated they like EVO more. SBO, one loss and you are done. I have a friend that went to season's beatings this past week and money matched daigo in ssf4, and believe me he wasn't the only one money matching him.

@FRCGunflame There is a little misunderstanding: Being below average doesn't mean being bad, especially in Guilty Gear. Japanese players are so damn good at this game, and there are so few bad players in general...

Maybe I should change my choice of words a bit: Guilty Gear is a game where he is not beasting, and is actually just good at. Not very good, but not bad, too. "Decent", as you said, fits perfectly.

does anyone know how to air dash after an air dust like as seen on 1:48?

whenever I try it, there is a long recovery lag after the air dust that it takes a long while before you can do an air dash afterwards (hence you can't link the air dash after a dust).

in this vid the recovery after the dust only seems to take a few seconds.

frc gunflame has its own active frames regardless of what sol is doing. while sol is blocking, gunflame moves on its own and counter hits axl while he is doing super.

Just after seeing his infamous match with Justin Wong I tried looking for other japanese players and found out that there were even more better players than him, namely RX, Sugimiya etc It can't be helped, Daigo inspired me and knew later that there are many players better than him PERIOD.

Ahh... Back when Sol was pretty much the only person with a loop, which meant he was the only person who could easily do about 60% damage, and thus ridiculously broken.

Every time I get stuck in one of Jam, Eddie or Slayers', loops, for the odd 10 seconds where the game's flow is completely broken by cheap bullshit, I can't help but reminisce.

I'm not going to address your "cheap bullshit" angle. You were argued against in force in that Kazuki video, but you've got your head way too far up your ass to see logic. Off the top of my head, I can tell you that Sol, Slayer, Axl, Millia, Testament, Dizzy, Johnny, Baiken, and Zappa all had loops in #R. That's almost half the cast, and I'm sure more had them and I just can't recall. And Sol wasn't broken in #R. The dustloop was all that made him competitive.

I agree that loops aren't always bad, I've said that before, even if they are rarely any fun for either the user or the receiver, especially long ones. Sol is the perfect example. Loops are ALL he ever has.

Most loops are bullshit however. Slayer already has high damage, tacking on an extra 10-15% is ridiculous. And Testament being able to do 50% health without a single trap is just dumb. It would be like Order Sol having high damage without Charge.

You know what? Maybe you're right. Maybe loops DO deal too much damage. In fact, you know what else deals too much damage? Combos. I mean, come on! Linking attacks and giving the opponent no chance to escape? DUMB. I'm going to stop doing combos right now. Maybe now everyone will respect me more as a player because I'm not being cheap!

Testament averaging 30% damage without traps and 50-60% with is RIGHT. He is BALANCED that way. There's a reason Testament is S-Tier now and it's because, thanks to his badlands loop, he just has way, way too much random hit damage. His traps make this even worse since those random hits can be from the other side of the screen.

The fact that you're even talking about tiers in AC seriously shows how scrubby you are. Yes, Testament is S-tier now. But, despite how wildly powerful and unique every character is, competitive GG is highly balanced. Low tiers place in tournaments roughly as often as high tiers. So if you're looking for balance, competitive GG says 'hi.' Stop trying to impose your own restrained idea of balance upon the game - that's the way of the scrub.

It's called 'rolling over'.

You say that low-tiers place in as often as high, yet I've never seen a single Johnny or Anji player actually do well in a tourney. And for a VERY long time, Shonen was pretty much unbeaten, matched only by Ogawa... Another S-Tier.

True, the tiers aren't the end-all like some games, but they certainly do give a huge advantage in some cases.

Loops are, as stated above, boring. And considering they get removed from later games, it's clearly a sign they were never intended to be part of the game. Of course, "high end" players also abuse glitches and bugs, defending them desperately.

I hold players who use multiple combos and variety in higher regard than loop users. But that's my personal opinion.

Thumbs up for the good point but, Daigo was good enough to beat top players in Japan as well. Plus, placing at evo is nothing to sneaze at. I won't say that Daigo isn't a top player, but he wasn't on say...Kuroda's level.

Daigo is a wizard at SFA3, ST, Darkstalkers 1,2,3 and most other games that he gets his hands on. He really does live up to his reputation.
