@dakinehawaiian79 there are some warning signs that shops are no good. the biggest red flag of all is if the shop requires you to go to THEIR vet. not good, because those vets will not tell you if anything is wrong just to keep the shops rep good. in that case they may sell u a dog thats inbred or has worms, or God forbid a puppy mill dog...
@scampben most of the time they dock tails and ears for whenever they take the dogs hunting so they dont get snagged and torn. but doing it just for show is very cruel. its like someone taking a 2 year old to get their tongue split or something. I'm from the US and i cant even stand when parents take their babies to get their ears pierced. its all against their will...

My girls both have the natural ears, and I love them. Not to say I have anything against it if you choose to have their ears done, it is just not something I would do.

Did you get a puppy yet? You should be able to see where your puppy lives before you buy it. Look at breeders on the AKC website, and you can find someone living close by, so you can see how they are raised..

i agree. However, my little Nana did have considerable earmite problems due to shnauzer having so much hair inside their ears. I just had to be always careful to clean and disinfect to keep Nana's ear soft and floppy~ ^_^

you crop the ears when they dont hang properly. its pretty common. plus i worked in a dog grooming place and the cropped ears keep their ears cleaner.
Actually, they don't usually crop their ears because they don't hang properly. In the U.S. there are dogs that have their ears cropped because it is the 'breed standard'. These breeds must have their ears cropped to be shown at national levels.
There are some countries that have entirely banned cropped ears. I don't agree with cropped ears, it's cruel and unnecessary. Lots of breeders and pet stores who will do this to get more money for their pups as it leads people to believe they are 'show quality', which is rarely the case.
It all comes down to taste. I have 3 minis, and 1 mini-mix. Two of them had their ears cropped before we got them, and one of those two actually has more ear problems than the two without. Cropping is not necessary, nor does it help their health, but if you like it, it is ultimately your choice.
that is so sad that they keep those puppies in such a small place specially schnauzers that are very energetic and need lots of space. there so darn adorable! i have one she is very loyal and i just love her <3

omg iv been to that pet store. its horrible. the puppies were all in cages stacke don top of each other and the owner doenst allow any one to touch them. like i couldnt evn touch the glass.
I wonder what happened to the little guys... hopefully a responsible owner came and sprung them from that tiny fishtank! :(
