G.S.P was not a politician at all. If Patton had run Iraqetnam there would not have been a de-Baathification (Patton did not de-Nazifi Austria). I don't think the "war" part would have been won more quickly, if it even could. I doubt the occupation would go as badly. General Patton given a free hand in Iraq, would have had Shiite and Sunni Militias fighting on our side against foreign insurgents or would have killed and capture the militias. If anything, General Patton would have told the news media to get out of his way, we have a war to fight. As for deBaathification, one has to distinguish between true Sadam loyalists and those who joined the Party in order to have jobs and send their children to decent schools.
