This is just a tip you could use in the future, instead of using scrap clay, or extra clay I mean to help the swirl stay together you can just use foil for it

when u put the needle in the clay...do u bake it with the needle in the clay? how long do u bake it with the needle to make the charm and how long does it usally take to cool?

@Alex55987 Yes, you can bake metal right in with the clay. It depends on the brand on clay you buy - they all have specific baking instructions on the package. And, I think I usually let mine sit for 10-15 minutes to cool off after baking.

@ThePandabearGirl Some people who have sent charms to me use bent wire (I think I've seen a few with paperclips, as well), and it stays in just fine. The eyepins are probably easier - less time consuming - but feel free to make your own charm loops.

@Robloxar Yes, baking is the only way to harden this type of clay. Not sure if I understand the second question... if you have clay on your hands, soap and water will get rid of it. If red or blue stain your hands, it may take a few times to get rid of the color.
