I don't know about yo guys, but I like this kind of review. It's like asking for friends opinion on the game. Just down to earth kinda interaction, nothing too serious and all around fun.
it's a DAMN FUN GAME! Glad I bought it, I mean it corporates a lot of games like Resident Evil, Dante's Inferno, Dead Space, Alan Wake, Devil May Cry, No More Heroes, hell even Portal
Great review. I also loved the Alan Wake style light/dark system (AW is one of my fav games ever). Love the high video quality of the review as well. SUBSCRIBED :)
Could have elaborated a bit more on what made the game good. A fair chunk of the review was criticising the glitches, but when it come to positive points "everything else is awesome". How and why?
Let me also point out that the sidescrolling parts are so poorly done that the only challenge they offer is figuring out how to avoid prevalent glitches that kill the player. Not sure why you talked about the sidescrolling for so long in your review--there are only 3 of these levels...
Not being able to move and shoot in RE4 draws enemies in and increases the tension. There is no tension in Shadow Of The Damned because the dodging mechanic destroys any challenge one could have. There is no awesome feeling from beating piss-poor sidescrolling levels. This is a bad game. Next time you should mention things like the enemy ai (who will run up and rub against your character instead of attacking),boss battles that drag on forever and revolve around boring strats, etc.
@Riselem Ah, I was just never a fan of that. In a game like Dead Space, I feel that there were HUGE amounts of tension even though one could one move and shoot. There are definitely other ways of creating that feeling.
I agree - dodge mechanic made things a little too easy. I'm not sure how hardmode compares since I played it at medium.
@spawnabhi thx for checking out the video -- the reviews are in 'vlog' format which is very unscripted -- have you checked out our interviews with developers on location?
@NinjaNinus69 I know if you Wiki it, the game is called a "survival horror" but, the scares are really few and far between. There isn't quite enough vulnerability to elicit a real scare.
There is, however, enough power to make you feel like a BAMF.
For a more thrilling experience, Dead Space 1 + 2 still freak me out.
There's no excuse for glitchy programming in gaming nowadays. We're paying through the teeth to line their pockets; the least they could do is make sure we don't get stuck in place unneccessarily.
Awesome review, I'm just starting act 4. I love the soundtrack for this game, to bad I didn't preorder the game at Gamestop to get a chance to get the full soundtrack.
I like the vid but their should be some causal music playing in the background to add more of that good stuff.

@EksyTime I love the game too. Its awesome. Just feel its way too short. Oh well, hopefully they will make a sequel to this game!
Nice review by the way.

@Broshmosh Indeed - While the issue isn't game-breaking for me, it removes some of the shine and polish a game should have.
