The fire fighters recommended abandoning it to the fire within MINUTES of entering the building. The key word is it's a concrete supported structure. Concrete for compression and steel inside of it for tension. The concrete wont fail because unlike steel, it doesn't lose it's strength when it gets hot. There are images and video of columns being cut. Cutting steel with oxy/acetylene is an everyday job all over the world.
