once your car is in the air, you can balance it by accelerating or breaking, accelerating makes the front come up and breaking does the opposite. that way you can make a smoother landing and get more life time outta your car.
nice video, i have both cars and their great. wish i had a track in my neighborhood like yours haha
@morganwolff Thanks this is good advice. I found that doing that with this car only helped so much. It works better on cars with bigger tires. I was also not nearly as good at using throttle and breaking for pitch like I am now. Thank again!
Hey it looks like the drx is a fine car. is it good for a beginner like me? i 've got electric rc's but no experience with nitro. i really want 1 , after checking more ids on youtube. i just want your opinion. and what about its top speed?
@nilesh572 I am a complete Nitro NUBE for the most part. I had an old HPI Nitro RS4 RTR like 10 years ago and I muddled my way through it. But modern engines are more complex. My advice is not to get into Nitro unless you have a friend that at least kind of knows what they are doing. Or be very good at finding info online about working with nitro engines. Take it slow and be patient. The DRX is fast, but not stupid fast. I think its just right for a Rally Car.
HI helidragon! I am looking to get my first nitro off road car. I've previously owned electric cars and i'm not sure if the kyosho drx is a good first nitro car to get. I can't help to notice that you said this track was in union city so my guess is that you are in the vicinity of the bay area. Do you know of any reliable hobby shops because the one i normally visited doesnt exist anymore and you previously said this car was rare...does that mean its really hard to get one in the bay area?
@bigeslozr Hey there.. Please shoot me an PM and I will give you my e-mail address and I will help you out best I can. Most of my stuff is electric, but there are some amazing nitro options out there. Most of my cars are electric so my experience with modern nitro is limited. I might be able to at least tell you what not to buy and a few great places in the Bay Area including where this video was filmed, Nor-Cal Hobbies in Union City. I will be there on Friday.

Hi! I have one question... what surface is that? asphalt? looks very good, because is free of dust!! but... is not to hard for the body and chassis of the DRX? I think that for short course and buggy is excellent... but... you tell me, you run there... is good for the DRX?
@darkpterino Hey there. The track is very hard packed dirt. They use a steam roller and one of those big heavy thudder things. The texture of the track is perfect for the DRX's tires. Grippy but no traction rolls. But you are right, its great for buggies and trucks, not so good for rally cars. However, since the DRX is basically a DBX with shorter arms and suspension travel it does alright, especially if your careful it handles the jumps just fine as long as you hit em just right.
@darkpterino You bet. More videos coming when I can find a better place to run it. The track was not really for the DRX as it was and now its been changed to have even more big jumps, so I don't have a super good place to run it right now. But hopefully soon.
Hey thanks for the comments. It was about 95F (35C) the day this video was taken. I noticed that the engine just does not get a lot of air flow. Kyosho seems to think its OK to not cut any holes in the body as all their promo videos are without holes, but the engine really needs it. I may make the hole in the front window a little bigger still. Going to install Spektrum Telemetry in it soon. Was as rich as I could make it and it not bog down for this day of driving & still ran hot.
Great vid! What tires do you have on those? I'm actually converting my HPI RS4 3 Evo+ to a SNR.
Just bought the SNR shock towers, now time for bigger springs. Can't wait to also paint my Lancia Delta!

@PurebredFL1P Hey they are just stock tires. Would love to see a RS4 3 converted into a modern SNR.
