I think its weird how I'm English and find Finnish the easiest language to learn ever, I learn French, German and Spanish at my school and after 3 years of learning those i think I'm still better at Finnish, even though i started learning Finnish a week ago :D
I speak portuguese BR as my native language, and i listen to finnish bands like "Korpiklaani", because of this, i can pronounce the finnish with some easy =D
But the whole language and the words i have to learn, it's kinda difficult D:
@xristo702 Icelandic is a germanic language so it should be much easier to learn the grammar. Finnish grammar is what makes it so hard to learn properly.
Sulkasiipi, it's a bit distracting that your end texts are usually written with bad English grammar so how do we know what you're teaching us in Finnish is the appropriate translation?
@pandasneezes1 people laught at me wen i say i like finnish.but who cares about them, i know a bounch of people that like a whole other range of non-pupular languages...it just depends how open you mind it...
A quick tip for finnish people, if you want to learn a new language spanish will be pretty easy for you, specially spoken spanish, a have a couple of finnish friends here in Malaga, Spain and they speak reaaaaly good spanish.
@followyourideas Correcto, es muy fácil, excpeto cuando hablas rápido y dices vocales largas y consonantes dobles, es muy raro, es como acelerar y parar pero fácil.
@followyourideas Please don't compare Spanish or Italian to Finnish and Scandinavian languages when it comes about level of difficulty..cause you can't compare..
Hyvä juttu, kun ees joku tekee tälläisiä suomi-harjoittelu videoita. Ulkomaalaisille nää on varmasti tärkeitä, mutta jotkut tyypit ei vain osaa arvostaa videoitas. Tää on kyllä tosi tärkeä niille, jokka haluaa oppia suomea. :)
Vikings learned weekdays from the Germans and then we learned them from the Vikings ...
Basic linguistic feature: Peoples with hectic life develop most accurate time terms and then there is peoples with no hectic life, like Finns/Ugrians generally, Aboriginals, Eskimos, American Indians etc etc
When you live middle of nowhere is not really matter what day it is : )
well, considering that Vikings too were "germanic" it could be said that they named their weekdays long before they split up, since they worshipped the same gods at one point.
LOL, I like it when you add those little remarks, like "Tuesday is Tiistai ...Tiistai (easy) " :)
I'll probably spend a few months in Finland . I know I can get by in English but I'd prefer to learn at least a little bit of Finnish and your course is a great introduction.

wow i love your learning Finnish videos, they are great :D, the week days (defiantly Tuesday!!) sounds very much like my language cockney, it is a very stronge east london accent :D, i really hope i can learn some finnish before i move there next year :D, thank you for your help! i love your accent by the way :D
Finnish pronounciation is so similar with Turkish. Only the sound ä doesn't exist in Turkish. In Turkish "every sound has one character and every character has one sound" just like Finnish. Hey Sulkasiipi! I watched your other videos. It's interesting that "Turkish is an agglutinative language like Finnish" and "word order is the same too". Of course there are many differences. However, less differences than Latin languages.
In theory, Turkish and Finnish belong to Ural-Altaic languages. As a Turkish, if I speak no second language, then it wouldn't be hard to learn Finnish. I don't speak Finnish, but I can say that Finnish is not hard to learn for a Turk. As I said before they are AGGLUTINATIVE. There are no much prepositions in Turkish, too. Because no need to use them when there are so many inflections.
Such a cute accent!!!

Is it the "T" sounds like the English "D" sound?
And the "K" sounds like the English "G" sound?
Am I right?
flyleaf5433 2 months ago
@flyleaf5433 "K" in Finnish is same as the English "K" but it is said softer, and *slightly* devoiced - only difference.
"T" is Finnish is same as English "T" but it kinda sounds like a "D", just think of it as slightly forcefull "T" but still softly said.
