  • That first book was small

  • Swore I remember these are same guys who made the ARG "What's in the Box?"

  • Hah they were WRONG

  • my teacher told my about this guys, there were the best friends with my teacher c:.

  • one myth that is safe to try at home

  • I bet these guys are high

  • best gevaarlijk als ie wel meteen loslaat dan knallen die auto's met 80 naar buiten

  • Captures the feel of the show :D

  • loool he sounds like he is speaking english sooo much i keep forgetting it isnt :P

  • There is a way to separate interwoven phone books, a page at a time by hand.

  • it really works!i will do this play on my birthday :)

  • VIRGINS!!!

  • @ilikerock222 just like you

  • OPEN THE BOX

  • They just put few pahes on top of another to stick together without using glue???? And it does stick??

  • I don`t understand they stick those books with some kind of super glue? or how they aren`t go apart ?

  • @j2rik0 It's the power of friction

  • what a dumb ass hahahaaha u guys dont have style !!!!

  • thenoblequran (Ctrl+Enter)

  • haha nederlanders!!!

  • This video is the best because it has tenacious d on the bottom right corner

  • So, maybe we should build a space elevator out of phone books?

  • tried it myself......Dam thing wont go apart

  • A fraction of the pull force is transferred to the book; so harder you pull harder it sticks together. The trick is to pull it very slowly so that the pages are almost loose but certainly that would take a long time.....

  • A fraction of the pull force is transferred to the book; so harder you pull harder it sticks together.

  • I love this myth. It proves friction is a very powerful force, not to be underestimated.

  • Hmm...never knew this was a myth.

Although it reminds me of what is said about you can't pull your fingers apart once interlocked...or push your fingers together....or lean against a wall and push off it...or something like that.... :/ Can't remember exactly. xD So nevermind I guess.

  • lol I really dont have a problem with you people its just the sound of this accent :P

its like retarded British...imagine how retarded :P

  • @Rizombie

Yeah, you're pretty much right. I am Dutch too but I do hear that awful, awful accent... XD

  • that's not a real phonebook! look how thin it is!!!

  • @jewbybrother579 Dutch yellow pages.

  • @qqleq2 they should try using a real phone book. i mean for real that thing is maybe a half inch thick at best.

  • @jewbybrother579 Using a thin book shows it's not a myth even more clearly. But it would have ripped later, that's true.

  • Nie echt eigelijk..

  • Ze vonden het vast leuk om in Schuurman te boren :P

  • The netherlands is the best

  • :>)

  • this is just so wannabe mythbusters :S

  • This clip would've been nice to watch if it wasn't for those two dutch assfaces and their pathetic "workshop".

  • @kamratframjandet racist whore fag

  • pffff the mythbuster also tried these a while back

thank you for.....showing us the same thing

  • @maikoo25 I think you'll find the mythbusters used this video as inspiration for their episode, they even showed it in the episode itself.

  • did they use glue on the middle of the 2 books?

  • @saibotmark Nope, pure friction!

  • Next try a gamma ray burst on phonebooks

  • It's like a Chinese finger trap, the harder you pull, the more it contracts and makes it harder to pull out. If you pull hard enough on a Chinese finger trap it will break (if it's made out of the usual material) but your fingers will not come out cleanly by force. This myth with the phone books represents the same problem.

  • Mythbusters shits all over these guys. They used tanks.

  • 3:52 subliminal shit :O

  • lets see if two black holes can pull it apart

  • Way to fail at Physics. Force = Counterforce. It doesn't matter whether you pull with a car on either side of the connection, or with the wall on one and a car on the other side. This blunder has been repeated since Guericke and his copper hemisphere experiment in Regensburg, Germany, 1657. Also, my condolences to the clutch.

  • @Anvilshock yeah i was just going to say this, if they wanted to really pull on the books they should have connected both cars to one side of the rope and the other to a well anchored pole.

  • Also, way to fail at experimenting:

    - Creating breaking points by perforating the sides like friggin easyrip notepad

    - tying ropes through the holes manually, distributing pulling force unevenly

    And failing at Video mastering:

    - not doubling the mono track to stereo for certain scenes which puts the sound on the left track

    Way to go.

  • It's a shame those guys are so fucking annoying, because this would otherwise be a cool experiment.

  • @loyalcitizen They could have just taped the cover down.

  • wow that's cool

  • MEDIC!

  • Problem with the experiment is that something is obviously holding the phone books together, or else the covers and at least a few pages would be hanging down due to gravity. This is a flawed experiment.

  • @loyalcitizen ever consider it is the rope laced through the pages?

  • @phpwns Indeed, the rope holes are through the covers. But the covers don't even hang down from gravity when there is no force being applied. They probably glued the covers down so it wouldn't fall apart before the experiment even started. But that is a variable that must be disclosed in proper experimentation.

  • Tanks can separate the phone books: watch?v=hOt-D_ee-JE

  • haha, did not know this existed. It's hilarious how they use the exact same dynamic as the american version. Although on the american version we would have included an explosion in there somewhere.

  • @OlReagan Directed by Micheal Bay

  • What's with all the trolls in these comments?

  • @jas16899 you sir, are an idiot

  • @jas16899

They actually have a functioning democracy. And last time I checked, you americans were getting whooped pretty bad in Afghanistan

  • They used a "Force" meter and yet used units of Mass [kg]. The correct unit for force is a Newton [N].

    I abhor Mythbusters.

  • @cntmn8td2006 Or a kg * m/s^2

  • @legaultblackheart O.o You would be correct stranger.

    Cheers

  • The Dutch should stick with speed skating.

  • pussies

  • @teefuses you dont like pussies?

  • I already saw this shit on mythbusters

    u wasting my time redditards

  • What is with the stick figure's ass?

  • ahaha gold :)

  • Cool.

  • I didnt know stick men has such big asses

  • they are annoying

  • Ok people. Impossible does NOT mean "we couldn't manage it and decided to stop when our first idea failed." They drilled six holes in the thing and were shocked that that was the point of failure. Replace that stupid rope contraption with at most three bolts, place a strip of metal on each side of the clamping area, and crank the bolts down, compressing the ends of the phonebooks tightly. Then use steel cable instead of rope. Repeat test.

  • @kenkopin Actually, that's about the level of rigor that Mythbusters seems to advocate.

  • @kenkopin dude... its for fun, its funny. need more? no.

  • thats a beautiful car

  • tenacious d :D

  • what the fuck is this

  • LOL, friction is cool, now here's a trick, you can use a jet of compressed air blown at the edge of the pages and cause the friction coefficient to instantly drop to ZERO, allowing the books to be separated by gravity alone

  • tiny little phone books

  • you guys realize that these are the creators of "What's in the box" right?

    3:52 for more proof.

  • nederlandse mythbusters, hehe beetje nep hoor:)

  • @SilveradoNL Terwijl het toch echt is. Lutser. :)

  • I like how big that stick figures ass is...wtf?!

  • @Cheezypantz thnx .. it is still hard to wrap my mind around the built-up power of friction in pieces of paper!

  • Thats the thinest phonebook I have ever seen....

  • @FittePynt

Yea, this country must have a population of like 12

  • @SomeUsefulIdiot 16.5 million. But no one expects an American to know anything so its cool. :)

  • @Thebassjunk

I don't blame you for the American categorization, but don't lump me in there with them

  • @SomeUsefulIdiot Sorry I just had to say it.

  • Plus it says TV 17 which if you place City 17 it again take you to the vast universe of half life ;p

  • that stick figure has a huge ass

  • you can separate them. with a chainsaw.

  • gay germans

  • @lp000028 gay american

  • @J10rulez nazi jk

  • They're speaking Dutch, dumbasses.

  • ferari time?

  • STUPID!!!! more force mean it will stick better, put minimal effort in and it will seperate!

  • @tonyhawkdude95 You should try it then

  • And that my friends, is how cotton works.

  • Doesn't anyone ever read the descriptions anymore? Christ...

  • 2:23 hahahaha I wasnt especting that!

  • dubya tee eff? i wunt anglish?????

  • great job guys :)

  • Woaa! This was interesting! Ill try it

  • Fags

  • comb your damn hair

  • 3:53 Whatsinthebox.nl

  • dose anyone else know these guys from whats in the box? at 3:53 theirs a glimpse of the whats in the box poster.

  • @nny5342 oops sorry 3:52

  • @nny5342 Whoa, i see it too! I think it means the question is about to be answered. I think the border is to make it look cool

  • I thought 1 person would be able to do it when I first heard about this...

    2 phone books #FTW lol

  • amazing. i always thought that this was a bunch of crap until i saw this video.

  • at 3:53 there's some kind of flashing red diamond with a ? in it...

  • u can pull it apart

  • God they not only got their myth tested by the mythbusters, but they also made "what's in the box"?!

Tim is Now one of my favorite non American people EVER

  • those doods are creepy

  • How does this make sense? Wouldn't they just pull apart instantly?

  • @CParkerFilms no due to it woven together like clothes it is hard to get it apart and to add more force just causes greater pressure and keeps it together even more so its almost inpossible to seperate them

  • @CParkerFilms

hi im air pressure, niec to meet you

  • @CParkerFilms There is friction between each individual page that stops that.

  • i hate all those people saying its german and think they are the best but it is definitley dutch because i speak dutch often

  • fake

  • @gnorty Your mom is fake, this is not fake -,-

  • Thanks for the "box"clue ;)

  • Bango Skank

  • holy fuck

  • Interesting, I guess technically the force holding the pages together would be exponential as you pull harder, much like a Chinese finger trap.

  • I've never heard of this myth.

    Cool!

  • haha when i found out about this trick we always did it to all the books right before the end of class

and it is a PAIN to separate all of the pages.....good prank

  • LAcheee...; moet ek ook is proberen...

  • 3:53 Noooooooooo! BOX = HELL !

  • saw the mythbusters trying out your myth on t.v. and have to check yours out. Good job!

  • This was a great video, but next time you should try to get your voices a little bit louder? But the subtitle was great to have and read!

  • wtf? these assholes are not the mythbusters. its in like swedish or something

  • @johnishable Read the description for crying out loud.

  • @johnishable i think they are dutch

  • @karlculator that's dutch yes..

  • @alexs87 yes it is dutch

  • if you where wondering... this is dutch

  • Hehe till you get the Tank ^^

  • at first i was unimpressed with the lack of the mythbusters in this video. but this was very good! i had never even heard of this myth but its interesting! good one guys.

  • NEDERLANDERS!!

  • mark 3:52 ....WHAT"S IN THAT DAMN BOX!!!

  • After careful studies I am certain it says "TV 17".

  • They're not fake mythbusters, this was an official contest, and they actually won. Jamie and Adam took the myth and did it themselves.

  • @The BetterGame Yeah, but with real phone books!

  • the myth is confirmed

    W mythbusters

  • FAKE MYTHBUSTERS!!!

  • @luvmyshnzer

    read the description

  • het is wel mogelijk! als je niet trekt of knijpt en je eerst de ene kant een beetje los maakt dan kan het heeeeeeeel langzaam! xD

  • I wanna see you guys do the broken water heater!!!

  • someone at my school said he tried it w/ his mom's SUV and a garage door, and it broke like that! WOW!

  • 2:08 HAMMERTIME!!!!

  • Lol nice to see the vid that the mythbusters did. Its really cool. Congrats on the first prize

  • the REAL mythbusters did it! (with tanks) lol

  • неплохо нелохо

  • this vid sucks!

  • then tell us why?

  • @00011theman if you read the description you would know that this video for a mythbusters contest.

  • The phone books cant separate because of the friction that the papers are causing... so that means the harder you pull the more denser the phone book papers get which makes it just about impossible to separate... but if we try it with a magazine... i guess it will separate cuz the surface of the magazine paper is slippery...
