  • What are those stamp things called and where did you get them?

  • @mikamee14 They're called die stamps. I think I got them at harbor freight years ago.

  • Can i buy just a neck from your website?? JW

Cool vids I just subbe too your channel!

  • @Vampirez41 It depends; if I built you a neck, it'd come with a paddle headstock so you could make your own headstock. Thanks for watching!

  • Loved your series on the Les Paul Studio, the end result looked and sounded amazing! Being a lefty though, this V project strikes a "chord" with me...just subbed your channel.

  • @tulsa9999 thanks man!

  • I would take this one over a gibson.

  • @mgarandsniper Thanks!

  • @jsullysix hi your welcome its the truth.

  • What angle should the neck have when making a neck through guitar? The guitar looks like it's filled with pure awesomeness btw!

  • @HarvesterBob It really depends on the height of the bridge that you're using. I can't post a link, but if you google "neck angle calculator" it will take you to a site titled tundraman. he's got a good neck angle calculator there.

  • @jsullysix okay! thanks for the fast reply! :P

  • @jsullysix i've been wanting to ask you this, can you (after spraying clear on the headstock ) see if its a decal?

  • @laiholapso Not if you do it right! :)

  • the first fret kinda reminds me of Randy's Concorde with the large first fret. like his is extra wide. did you do that on purpose?

  • @somervillefire Most definitely. Some of my construction standards are based from that guitar. The 1st fret block being rotated, and the rounded fretboard corners came from the Concorde. Glad you noticed!

  • @jsullysix yeah im a bit of a rhoads fanatic lol but theres nothing wrong with that

  • @somervillefire Not at all!

  • wait... you're... you know erick coleman right?

  • @tohtorigyro Kinda! He's one of my flickr contacts and we message back and forth from time to time.

  • @jsullysix yeah i looked at you and i was like "where have i seen him before" :D i'm dummyluthier (at flickr) btw.

  • @tohtorigyro oh Nice!

  • Awesome guitar!!

  • hey i just spray painted my guitar about three days ago but the thing has a really strong paint smell to it and gives me headaces any sugestions on how to get ride of the smell?

  • @algu11 time. It needs to gas off. Should be at least 4 weeks.

  • Hey Sully,

I just sanded down my guitar to the bare wood and I wanted to ask you a few questions:

    1. What would be the best way to smooth out/flatten out some areas where I sanded too far down and, as a result, the guitar face is uneven?

    2. What would be the best way to clean the bare wood before I start with tung oil varnish and wetsanding?

    Thanks!

  • @agentpissant42 you can do one of three things, I guess. 1. sand everything flat with a block, and keep sanding until flat. Scribble in pencil lightly on the face of the guitar. When the pencil is all gone, you're flat. This could potentially impact things like neck angle and bridge height. 2. same as step 1, but add some kind of veneer if needed to bring the height back to where it was. 3. fill the deep areas with filler and paint solid color. 4. depending on the area, it could become a contour

  • hey sully what would recomend, for stripping a guitar, should I just sand it down, or get some paint stripper, The guitar I wanna redo has a tigerstripping vaneer on it and I dont wanna sand away the stips you know what I mean.. help would be awesome

  • @Medirtdog it depends on a lot of things. Is there binding? If so, stripper will melt it. So that's bad. :) As far as the tiger stripe vaneer, do you mean that it's a figured maple top or that it has a tiger stripe pattern painted on it? I'd probably carefully sand it, but first look inside the pickup cavities to see how thick it is. I did a video about this sort of thing, so see if that helps.

  • Hey Sully, how much would you charge for one of these with a reverse Jackson style neck and no paint on the guitar?

  • @TallonIV776V I wouldn't build that. Jackson's headstock is trademarked by them and I'm not interested in getting cease and desist letters from them. Sorry.

  • Man you didn't play it?

I know it's a lefty but you could've just plugged it in and hit an upside down D chord or sumtin'... I haven't felt this let down since I found out what Easy-Off was really meant for:(

  • @redrocker1055 heh. nice! I did have to try to play it, but there's no need for video documentation of that. Besides, wouldn't you rather see DJ play it?

  • would you possibly make a bass?

  • @NapoleanXV sure, why not?

  • VERY COOL SULLY. I WORKING ON THE CASH NOW.

    STAY COOL.

    CHEERS

  • how long would it take you to make a rhoads style concorde ?

  • @algu11 There's no way I'd make one of those (for a few reasons, actually).

  • @jsullysix understandable

  • Great job Sully, not too sure about the color, but a kick ass guitar nonetheless.

  • @weldfish tht coulor is wicked and all my guitars r black i want tht coulor 2 b fair

  • @staceygizmo07 That's the cool thing about colors; everyone can have their favorites! :) I agree that the color is a love it or hate it color.

  • You have just guaranteed your immortality, that instrument will only get better with age and create music forever... Sorry, I've had 4 Pacificos, but seriously, art is our best human endevour, and you sir, are an artist!.Thanks.

  • @tbdalva Wow man, thanks! Feel free to drink many Pacificos and then watch the rest of my videos! :)

  • how much would you charge to make a guitar?

  • @algu11 Something like what you see in the video would be 1800.

  • 9/26/10 ! youre holding out on us!

  • @NapoleanXV sorry, but it's true; I often film stuff and chop it up into weekly episodes. Gotta keep people coming back!

  • That looks so awesome..nice job... very nice job dude :).

  • Nice to see it finished :D looks badass :)

  • AMAZING!!!!!!! one of the best guitars ive ever seen.

  • sweet !!!! very wicked looking guitar !

  • @goodyear2602 Less time than I'm comfortable with.

  • i like you

  • @Semimentalman2 awww thanks!

  • @jsullysix XD

  • I'm diggin' all these Galaxy V videos. I wish I could afford one, because that looks like it plays like Jesus..
