If you watch Shinedowns video of this song that is Melody Van Zant who is the blonde in the flowing dress in the video and at the 3:00 minute mark of the video the little girl is her daughter or Ronnie Van Zant's granddaughter.

The painting she is holding is a portrait of Ronnie. It gives me chills everytime I watch it!

Also Ronnie wrote this song in one hour after losing his mother. Gary Rossington wrote the music as he was sitting around playing it on his guitar and Ronnie heard it and said he liked it. He sat down with Gary and wrote the words in an hour inspired from the loss of his mother.

Their manager Al Kooper did not like the song, so they recorded it behind his back and released it on their own. I

This is great, but I have one problem? Why would you even include Shinedown in the title? True they did a remake, but this is a Ronnie Van Zant song from Lynyrd Skynyrd period!

Do not think I do not like Shinedown as I do, but I would not include them in the title. Many do not realize that Jasin Todd former guitarist of Shinedown was married to Ronnie Van Zant's daughter Melody Van Zant. Judy Van Zant , Ronnies widow was Shinedowns original manager. as they're also from Jacksonville.
