I 'm thinking it could be low on the oil, so maybe the spring is moving around ,without the oil to slow it? Any real help out there?

@MikeyGG34 there is a pin on the cap to hold the spring straight and even in the stantion make sure it is ligned up proper and you wont have this issue

@MikeyGG34 lol its the spring hitting the top cap you can use some of the spacers that you got with your fork to remove that sound but it will make the fork a bit stiffer.

When i was 15 and completely poor, I picked up some bran new 2008 boxxer races for £311.00 . I mean 311 quid for forks like that. god bless rock shox. Boxxers are by far giving more to the sport. i'd never get dirty 40s, mainly because thats what all the spoilt people i know get and the fact that peaty and sam have boxxers :P

yo without doubt 40's own the shit outta boxxers. but they also develop clunking because the shrink seal on the spring slides down. and the rebound bath has been know to fuk up alot. easy fix. i have a marzocchi 66 rc2x 2007 the fork is very good

and i have a marzocchi 888 rc3 the fork is shit i had a rock shox boxxer team 2010 the fork is by the warranty

Go for Mazocchi. They prolly have some of the best products on the market in my opinion. Although the 40's are brilliant forks as well. I guess that it all about taste. Just dont go for the Rock Shox. They suck.

boxxers too small. i snapped a pair on mates DHI. 40s...mate had some on a 06 stab..they felt worse then RST shocks from the warehouse. however they were fucked,,,40s are still mean. i ride 888 on my stab. not any problems. nice size, plush etc. its all down to personal preferance. i hate boxxers as i broke a pair. my mate hats 888 as he broke a pair. and my mates brother hates 40s cos he broke a pair. anything can break...

Hahahah the Real Gee Atherton would know that Drop off triples have 170mm travel not the same as the 203 that boxxers have. They are only 28 mm stanchions so sr suntour are more robust and marzocchi 888's though heavy are a a super plush fork that after minor adjustments ride like a cloud..... but this is the internet and you kids will do what you do right lol

i've been riding with fox rc2 40 and hasnt broken on me once and i rarely get it serviced sram makes good deraillers and crank but hey if you dont have the money for fox then rockshox is my second choice but hey considering on how much sram makes they can sell there parts cheaper AND LETS SEE WHAT THEY MAKE! deraillers, bottom brackets, forks, cranks, Oh yeah foxracing shox has won over 10 world cups and guess what this year gee, dan and rachel antherton won one and they ride with fox

get a 40, thats what i ride and it holds up fine (i ride whistler every weekend). the 40 is by far the most reliable fork, hardly ever have to get it serviced, it may not be the best race fork but it is the best all round fork.

rock shock make world class forks, they make them well and cheap, and i have tried fox's, 888's and boxxers, and they are the best so far, anybody can break any fork if they really do something stupid like taking it apart without knowing how, so you cant blame rock shock

Depends, boxxer forks have much more simple internals then other makes, however if they are looked after properly they will last for a long time I still run boxxer 05's team model

its had 2 bush changes and its never failed. The only thing i would ever consider doing is fitting the black box motion control. Just make sure you look for problems before they happen, usually you will notice things arnt quiet right before they finaly go wrong.

Yeah just rebuild the stantions, using the same oil if you wish. Look at the service guide on the SRAM website to find out how. Only takes like 5 maybe 10 mins at max.
