  • Saw this in the theater in high school, think it was the first R I went to, it shocked me and I remember there was male nudity, maybe of Bruce Davison. The paperback was a political manifesto mostly. This is a Hollywood script, there another similar one with Candice Bergen & Elliott Gould "Getting Straight." It was the first movie I saw with a rock soundtrack featuring Neil Young's The Loner which I love. Dvd, please!

  • (sticking guns into police guns) XDDDD

  • I saw this as a teenager in Hungary, made a huge impact on me. Where are the passionate people today?? Where does our country heading? did we become a nation of lazies? Have anyone seen an anti war protest lately??

  • @MichaelFriedlanderSA

Actually it's Andrea, not Michael..but I think this could have been in South Africa as well!!

  • American ZOMo ;-)

    Google ZOMO

  • "Guernicas" and "Hiroshimas" happens all the time.

    Even Aushwitz-Guantanamo...

I would remember Ghandi´s wisdom words: It´s only the coward, who carry a gun.

  • Just Perfect <3

  • Thanks for posting this. I saw this film as a kid in the 1970s, I think it changed my life. Years later I was drafted in the army (national service) and I refused to go... I was on the run for 4 years... Things as bad as Vietnam are happening right now & young people sit on their asses... when I read the nationalist, "patriotic", racist, & homophobic comments on YT (left mostly by young people) I despair of humanity...

  • Young people need movies like this one but we are not getting any serious and thought-provoking movies any more.

  • To greenwoodtea - YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!!

  • We were freerer then in every way...there were no patriot acts...there was real news,,,today there is control of news , ideas and protest is limited and there are taser guns used by police in unconsitutional methods.. Today--there is no freedom compard to the 60s..we saw the body bags come home back then ..today there isnt the freedom to see the reality of war...BODY BAGS and dead Pakestani familes..that we murdered with drone nazi like machines. there is NO freedom today.

  • Lol, not having lived in that time, I don't know whether to agree whether there is more freedom before than today.

However, the info sounds fascinating, If you'd like, send me a PM, I'd love to hear more.

  • I agree, our freedoms have eroded as to be hardly recognizable compared the late 60s. There is no real news. The Cronkites and Severides are all gone with no one to take there places. Instead we have the lying Limbaugh's and Limbaugh wannabees on one side while the mainline news reporters are blind to anything resembling the truth. OR just afraid to tell it.

  • Nazis look like boyscoot in comparison. What a police so advanced in fighting against its citizens.! What a great country!

  • i saw this movie in the early seventies... in the east block... against the props some movie got trough....

i think this and some other movie is really a milestone in filmmaking...

what i see of this movie? gas in a chamber against living people... power against idea... power against people, they have no weapon... and i can see two date 9th of aug 1945... and sept11 2001

  • I saw this film when it came out...in New Jersey....in Emerson NJ. many of my brothers friends had already come home from Nam dead or wounded.....We were a freer country back then.....but the kids today are starting to get what freedom is...

It is THEIR freedom that is at stake now..

  • By what stretch of logic do you state that America was freer in 1970? I was alive then, too, and there were far more rules and taboos then than there are now. We had a draft, and we had to go to war whether we liked it or not. So, America was freer then why exactly?

  • i was born in 1977 .. but i wished i was there

  • This movie's for sale on the Web for $80.00. I'm not kidding. This there's a reason for that? ;)

  • @fogggygyrl i bought a copy from amazon for under $20.

  • i havent been able to get hold of a copy either... i love this movie.

  • that's danish subtitles!
