Everyone, you have to remember that while there's the standard ASL, there's also different 'accents' if you will. Kind of like a New Yorker sounds different from a Texan, someone who learned sigh language in New York will sign a little differently then someone in Texas. So while, yes, I think she's wrong, it's because of where I'm learning, versus where she did.

@justineeelovee Not really. There seem to be two versions of "K". This is one of them. A "P" is a little different though. When doing the "P" it is basically the same as the "K" in this video, BUT when doing a "P" you would turn/swivel you hand down, so that the index finger is not pointing upwards (as in this "K"), but sidewards or a little down (and the middle finger is pointing down.

So, the hand gestures are the same, just the orientation is different.

@yugiohkiller999 Oh, are you serious? I deaf cousin and I was taught to do A sideways, but with my knuckles facing out. I was always taught to do H sideways too, but the way my uncle and aunt taught me, you can actually tell it is an H, unlike this lady. Thanks for saying that though, because some people my prefer it like that. I'll keep that in mind when I am talking to the deaf girl at my school. i have never seen anyone do it that way and I have been around a lot of deaf people.

Not to beat a dead horse here... but It's really a 'p' not a 'k' - index finger points straight up for a 'k'. Lots of the letters are incorrect.. g and h and a... looks like it's how you sign the letter when you learn it from a book. I'm all for "personal style" of signing, but that's not what it always is. Be wary of taking this video maker's signs as accurate, I've seen errors in several of her videos.

Sadly, she is making mistakes. This is a language. Real and legit. It has clear guidelines for producing each sign. It should be learned and taught correctly. Skimming through the comments, some people are thanking her for this "useful" lesson. Be warned - this lesson is WRONG. I am sure teprexviagelle would prefer to be spelled expertvillage. They took the time to make sure they were spelled correctly. Sadly, they didn't put any effort into making sure this ASL alphabet was spelled correctly

I'm sorry but your K is wrong. The fingers are almost in the right place, but you make it so the index, middle, and thumb are facing up.

Also the index and middle fingers need to be directly next to each other, not separated like that.

Hmm actually you're not quite right, facing up is correct, but other than that, her K looks great to me. If you look around at Deaf people, the way they sign, most will do a K similar to hers.
