I just watch this video every week! To get my spirits up when I feel my last hooking project is not great enough and for inspiration. After, I'm all reved up and ready to hook like crazy ! (-:
I want to play this video for every student who fusses over her loops. Your work is pure joy frozen in wool. Thanks for taking the time to record this.
i just made a whole bunch of kaleidoscope wheels with beautiful colors it was so fun to make but now i want to put them into beads or wool pictures i must look arround for the right things
Deanne, Thank you for this moving and eloquent video. One doesn't need to be a rug hooker or even an artist to appreciate the life lessons you offer here. Simple and beautiful, as the title suggests, yet profound. I am so glad you and your filmmaker chose not to embellish the video with background music. The music is the sound of those loops being hooked.
How lucky to find that comfort and connection! And lucky for me that you shared it.
While in Englee, NL (where my mom grew up and I spent time as a child) got to see the rugs of some local women (some who I was related to) and was fascinated and wanted to know more.
I bought your book Hook me a Story while in St. Anthony and loved it.
If there were ever a rug hooking movie that could move you to tears, this is the one. Such beautiful filmmaking to capture and convey a woman who conveys the artistic spirit in a way that is truly moving. Absolutely lovely film.
I absolutely love your video. I wish it was 2 hours long. What a treat. I can't believe how fast you hook. You are actually painting with wool. I wish I could hook like you. You have such a command of your materials. How long have you been hooking?
l wish the whole world could appreciate the beauty of such simple, beautiful and life enhancing joy you portray in your rugs and your life....thankyou for such a video, making rugs is the same for me.
Deanne, I know exactly what you mean about the rythym. As a matter of fact I wrote about it in my profile on my blog. (shabbysheep) I live with chronic pain from fibromyalgia and this helps me to focus on something other than the pain-the rythym of the hooking...so relaxing and meditative.
I admire you as a great artist. Thank you for making the world a more beautiful place.
I love this video and feel terrible since I just registered & accidentally gave it a 3 stars rating - and YouTube doesn't let you correct your ratings! That should have been FIVE STARS! This is one of the best videos I've ever seen on rug hooking!

The first Dear Diary that you read.. was it you who wrote it? If not, could you give me the name of the person who did? It's beautiful.
