and in the end the toll would hand out condomes. So, one of us should go to the youth clinic to ask for condomes. The problem was he went to the office of a company... and asked for 50 condomes...in his funny cloths XD . That must have been some freakt out mundanes.
Ok, I have a story abou t freakin mundanes. Where I live we have an anual renfair, made by the local SCA-group and the local LARP-group. We larpers aranged a "Story Path" where the children could go and meat trolls and fairies etc. And in the end a troll whom they had helpd would give them a chocolate goldcoin. We where doing a "adult" story path for the people who was working on the fair,
I have a few questions, I'm thinking about joining SCA or something similar, I need to know some honest answers about people in SCA and the general SCA experience.
@TheVioletneko OOOOH? would you happen to know where I can find a CD of that album? I had a copy of the tape 13yrs ago and it got lost in a move. I was never told what the album name was >.<
Uhhh... I have a few questions about SCA, I'm fifteen and considering joining when I'm 16 next month. I won't post them all now as I am very tired and still need to organize them in my thoughts, but if anyone is a veteran or newcomer scadian that would be willing to talk a little about it, I'd be grateful.
OH MY GOD! you are AWESOME! when I joined the SCA my dad told me how he and his heavy fighter buddies linked arm in arm skipped through the mall dressed in all their armor singing this song. since then i have been looking for it. at last my search is over!
One hears stories...you never know how much credence to give them...about hotel staff or restaurant managers or cops or bosses being freaked out by the SCAdians. There is a story about an Airman (female) who was sent ot the base psychiatrist because of her habit of spending her off-duty hours in court gowns she made herself. But as they say, if you do it with other people, it's not insanity, it's just a club.
I always liked the story about the muggers who tried to rob some woman who was fresh from some event and was still wearing her armor and sword under her long coat.
"I'll see your six (inch knife) and raise you thirty!" draws sword... Suddenly she wasn't such an attractive target. Gee, wonder why?
The singer's SCA name is Shaugnessy. She is local to the kingdom of An Tir, Barony of Blatha an Oir (Tacoma, WA) area. She has several discs of SCA music that she sells and is one of the most lovely people I have ever had the honor to meet.
Wow. Small world. When I used to go to events more frequently and remembered what she looked like, I saw her by chance down the aisle at Costco once and we just sort of stared at each other in disbelief that the other existed in the mudane world! XD
@Riallia Actually, this lady's name is the Honourable Lady Shaughnnesy of the greatest Kingdom of the Knowne World of the SCA. ALL HAIL AN TIR! She has many songs on her albums as teaching tools for new singers and what not. I've sung at her side at many a bardic through House Redstone campfires on many cold nights in An Tir.
In service to the Dream, the art of the Bard, and the Kingdom of An Tir<
Oh, I forgot to tell. It was of cousre a misstake. That could be some missunderstandings there.

@retardrepellent
Depend on the group... but I always understood the SCA as the Society of Consenting Adults.
Aharndts 5 months ago
@retardrepellent The SCA has a website sca(dot)org.
From there you can find your kingdom's website and hopefully a local group.
I've been bringing music to the western edge of Northsield for nearly three years now, and loving every minute of it.

This reminds me of our anime club. We scare people often, or just confuse them. (My friend next to me agrees) This song is AWESOME!!

I believe the artist to be Leslie Fish(a noted filker/SCAdian)

"You must check your weapons!"
The landlord cried,
and he stared as his bar disappeared
beneath a pile of steel...
love this song.
