  • Claude Frollo is my most hated Disney character ever. Probably villian. As a Christian I see Frollo as the embodiment of all the corrupt and hypocritical people out there who dare call themselves "Christians" and continue to be hypocrits while Esmeralda is my favorite Disney princess of all time because she is the embodiment of the exact opposite.

  • IMO the most evil Disney villain ever. A perfect depiction of how evil and corrupt people use religion to justify their misdeeds. He was one of the main reasons why I'm an atheist today, so thanks Disney!

  • spelling fail in my last comment

  • Frollo should hve killed Elsmaralda and Quasi it seems like he's the one who would have won

  • Seems like they modeled Frollo after Karamazov's "Grand Inquisitor"

  • Sarousch disliked this video because he's nowhere near as cool as Claude Frollo is.

  • @MythicalGryphon1

Comparing Sarousch to Frollo is like comparing Justin Bieber to Chuck Norris. As you said it's no contest.

  • Its sad that Frollo doesn't love his own son by that quasimodo is really his son. In the book and yes there is a book of that and Frollo slept with Quasimodo's mother and she had the child. I mean its true too Quasimodo have the same skin color as Frollo!

  • He,Rourke and McLeach almost look like each other

  • I agree wih everyone yes at first it was just misdirection but then Frollo got worse thinking that the more he did wrong he had to delude himself into think it's in the name of God so yeah at first he started out as misguided then he ended insane

  • That horse gave me nightmares when I was little :/

  • he has the scariest looking horse

  • poof!!! witch craft :o

  • this is like repunzel O.O just relized

  • Mea maxima culpa...

  • Heck, even his horse looks evil and terrifying.

  • This is simply the scariest disney villain there is.

  • Frollo is definitely one of my favorite Disney villains ^^.

  • how could two good looking parents have....him?

  • @MsWhoFanatic: Maybe they're brother and sister? Or cousins? Inceeeeest. XD

  • Frollo is kinda blasphemous.

  • @MCGoldYoshi But i think Animal Farm is a classic.

  • This film is great the second one was awful. : /

  • Frollo is abit scary for little kids like Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Napoleon from Animal Farm (1954) and Buxton The Blue Cat from Dougal and the Blue Cat (1972).

  • @jakedp100 I HATED ANIMAL Farm I REFUSED to read it a second time when my english class was reading it >:(

  • Frollo certainly is a classic adults villain.

  • Good God, you know a guy's a villain when it looks like his horse galloped straight out of hell and into the movie!

  • If Judge Claude Frollo and Judge Doom ever joined forces, it'd be over for everything animated.

And that freaking HORSE is a Disney villain! That thing is on STEROIDS!!!

  • the archdeacon's singing voice is great.

  • Thumbs up for more hellfire!

  • Whoever disliked this must be apolige to the ghost of Tony Jay and Victor Hugo

  • One thing disney does best is having extremely good evil villains except the disney channel shows and some recent disney movies. Villains like Frollo, Jafar, Hades and Scar will always be better than villains like Sharpay Evans

  • I love how right at the end, Frollo just looks so demonically evil.

  • If Frollo would have lived:

    - In Stalinist Russia - He will be NKVD officer and purge millions of Trotskist, feudals and spies of western Imperialists

    - In Third Reich - He will be Gestapo officer and destroy millions of Jews, Gypsies, Commies and other inferior race

    - In XVII century Spain - He will be Jesuit inquisitor and torture thousands of infidel Muslims, Dutch protestants, or pagan Aztecs.

The scariest thing about him is that whatever he have done he would believe about his righteousness

  • I enjoy how even Frollo's horse looks positively frightening. I love Disney :3

  • what are you gonna do about it sir?beata maria you know i am a rightous man lol

  • WITHCRAFT 20 years i have been taking clear of

  • I absolutely LOVE Frollo.

I don't like the way he treats Quasimodo.........I love the voice, and the way he's animated.

  • The first time I heard "In a moment, a lesson needs to be learned here...", I clenched my fists so badly I almost made them bleed. Frollo's an ABSOLUTE jerk, I was glad when he got immolated, that was a most fitting end.

  • I was probably a very strange child, in fact I know I was, I wanted to marry Claude and told my mum I would marry a man who was a cross between him and Wesley from Princess Bride. Claude is my favourite Disney villain of all time! He's so delicious.

  • in the original book frollo is an archdeacon, but rather disturbed. he took quasimodo for compassion as his foster child, but then turned evil after seeing Esme dances. Frollo was so obsessed with Esme that he tried to kidnap her, rape her, kill phoebus and made Esme hanged for the murder she never did. both Frollo in the book and film deserved to be thrown from the tower. a

  • OMG, Tony Jay is the best.... Absolutely.

If the Rainmaker ever is clever enough to film ReBoot again... I truly have no idea who will be good enough for Megabyte...

  • Guess who's going to be in the next Kingdom Hearts?

    ^ This guy. :D

  • Not many villains comit actual murder is disney movies.

Frollo very happily boots a woman in the face and snaps her neck.

  • @Filmzie True, but many of them try to commit murder (murder meaing here the killing of one sentient being by another). # THE HORNED KING (technically he was once human) # The Wicked Queen from Snow White # The Queen of Hearts # McLeach # SHAN YU # Jafar # Dr Falacier # FROLLO # Captain Hook # Governor Ratcliffe # CAPTAIN BARBOSSA There's even more disney villains who've tried to murder than the ones listed here. The ones in captials are one's who actually committed murder.
  • My fav villain and fav Disney movie especially when he says licentious how many people know that word? Haha the hellfire and genocide scenes are not for children i

  • You forgot Anastasia !

  • @dementedsmiles

    Not disney, 20th Centuryt Fox.

  • lol real Europeans hate gypies

  • I don't like frollo's voice actor, he doesn't fit into the role so much.

  • @chuckyn100 nobody had an evil voice like Tony Jay did. He also voiced Shere Khan in Jungle Book 2 (RIP Tony Jay)

  • now i know what caused the plague. Drinking water with dead babies in it :(

  • Frollo, is hands down the most evil Disney villain. He is the only one who would be charged with attempted genocide.

  • @YAKICable *besides Governor Ratcliffe, but he didn't commit as many crimes

  • "And he shall smite the wicked and plunge them into the fiery pit!"

one second later, God hears your Frollo, down you go!

  • The great thing about Frollo is that he isn't evil, he's just misguided. He genuinely thinks he is a good man, and tries to do the right things, but his twisted morals prevent him from thriving in his attempts at righteousness.

  • @AngelusZA Nope, I think he's actually more evil than almost any other disney villain. He just hides behind his status and religion which makes him worse in my opinion. The Taliban think they are soldiers of God carrying his judgement when really they are just very evil individuals.

  • @PKRockin7 Couldn't agree more. Frollo is perhaps most realistic villain doing evil in name of twisted idea of good.

  • @PKRockin7 Frollo isn't evil, if anything he's ambiguous. He actually believes everything he says because that is what he was raised to believe. Right and wrong are relative.

If you took history course, you'll recall that African Americans were seen as inferior humans, and, thus, were enslaved. Slavers weren't evil, they were just misguided, just like Disney's version of Frollo, just like the Taliban.

  • @AngelusZA Nope. The very religion the Taliban follow shun mass murder and regardless of context that is evil.

As for Frollo, I don't think he was ever raised to believe burning an innocent woman at the stake and offering sex for freedom was ever right. He's a terrible person and his final scene alludes to that.

  • @PKRockin7 The Taliban believe they are doing Allah's will, they have good intentions, they sincerely believe they are doing the right thing. That is not evil.

And neither is Frollo, he wants a lot more than sex from Esmeralda, he is desperate, attraction does that to people. He doesn't burn down his own city just to tap dat ass. Frollo sincerely believes Gypsies are evil, and burning at the stake would be a typical way for him to get rid of them.

  • @AngelusZA Rape a 16 year old gypsi? Burn down house with a family of innocent peasants inside? Murder a gypsi mother and try and drown her baby? Burn down half of Paris for some tits?

    Yep. Just misguided, is all.

  • @pic74 Yes, because for all he is doing wrong, he thinks he is doing for the good of all and for the favor of God. It's a sad irony.

  • @Sethbeastalan no, he is deluding himself. he knows it is wrong.

  • Omg, Frollo is almost a nazi...

  • @icabaripto Almost? Frollo was a Nazi before they were even called that.

  • That's the second Disney villain that says the word heck

  • @bean641 Who was the first?

  • @Mirani2 Maleficent

  • @bean641 Wow, gotta check that out again, then...

  • i've never read the book, but it has been posted that Frollo grew quite fond of Quasi. Does his lust for the gypsy make him grow hate for him?

  • Most evil villain ever. He commited genocide because he was horny.

  • He reminds me of Margaret White from Carrie

  • who voices Quasimodo o_o

  • @seegrub62 Tom Hulce

  • Frollo likes riding on light horses instead of his horse so he can pee on them and he likes having low pitched "JINGLE BELLS" in his thoughts.

  • Tony Jay's voice just added so much to the character. Lovely voice.

  • I would love to hear Christopher Lee sing Hellfire.

  • WHat sets frollo apart from other disney villains is that he is a three dimensional character hes not a hahahaha villian hes not a comedic criminal hes not even a sorcerer - HE IS REAL! - HE IS LIKE A NAZI! - HE ACTUALLY THINKS HE IS MORAL WHEN HE IS EVIL

  • ALAN RICKMAN MUST PORTRAY CLAUDE FROLLO!!!! Then my life would be Complete! :) Xxx

  • Frollo is actually a pretty nice guy in the Book. Troubled, but with good intentions.

  • ...I am amazed, SUCH quality! Such amazing animation and acting...

WTF happened Disney? Where are the new Claude Frollos and Maleficents?

The new Disney board shames Walt's ashes with the garbage they've been making

  • @Vildasnaga A sad sight indeed...our generation was been reduced to mediocrity. Oh how far the bar has been lowered, such a shame.

  • He has like, A mega hell-horse!

  • @RainbowStarMuffin

True story: the directors named Frollo's horse...

    Snowball.

  • His dad is kind of neat....maybe claude is the guy with nine fingers from the princess bride who killed that spanish guys father.

  • If there was ever a live action remake of this movie, I can't see anyone but Alan Rickman playing Claude Frollo

  • @KingGhidorah5464 YES. That would be perfect! :D

  • @KingGhidorah5464

Yes indeed, Judge Frollo is the Disney version of Judge Turpin! Just imagine Alan Rickman singing Hellfire ;) ...

  • In fact, this character is like an actual portrait of Alan Rickman, such a muse...

  • @KingGhidorah5464 hehe, I should totally make a Closet Land joke right now...

  • @KingGhidorah5464

Agree 110% on that sentiment. He'd be fantastic.

  • @KingGhidorah5464

I agree :D but who could play Esmeralda?

  • Frollo is meant to show the hypocrisy of religion and those in power, however he takes it to one level higher as he is trying to purge the world of the unholy in this case gypsies. the fact that he falls for a gypsy women only convinces him she is a witch because he cannot admit he could have thoughts of lust. in his song hellfire there are robbed figure chanting the Latin name for my fault so I think he knows what he does is wrong but he is so twisted he will not admit it or stop. a villain

  • @MAnnaconduit1 i thought they were chanting chernabog who was the main antagonist of noight on bald mountain and if you think about it he is basically the devil and i thought they were calling to the devil or something.

  • @aidanproductoins4 funny story i thought the exact same thing, i thought it was a Disney tribute or something, but when i got the dvd, i listened to the commentary by the producers/director and they said it was Latin those hellish robe figure were chanting and the Latin phrase was my fault, so Frollo does knows deep down he is doing wrong but he cannot admit he is wrong or unholy becasue he believes himslef righteous.

  • Frollo's character was distorted by Disney, Hugo's Frollo wasn't meant to "show hypocrisy of religion"...I still like the Disney movie though.

The original Frollo is deeper, very human and likeable !

He's supposed to be a man of Science, who is not stuck in an intellectual shell.

In a perpetual quest for knowledge, for the absolute, he's the archetypal intellectual.

He managed to show an almost "maternal" love for his brother, mercy for Quasimodo and concern for his pupils.

  • But the late discovery of carnal desire undermines his entire moral structure.

    The austere erudite becomes insane.

His crazy, fiery passion not only consumed him but also destroyed everything he had built and loved including Esme.

He's a very atypical tragic (anti)hero because he's not pathetic, weak, powerless, passively subjected to fate. Maybe it's because his fate is self-destruction, so it seems like he has a lot of power/control in spite of the fact that the novel is about his collapse.

  • I understand that this (fundamental) aspect couldn't be included in a children's movie where Claude Frollo is simply the villain...

But even by emphasising his craziness, roughness and violence, Disney still managed to keep some deepness...

Too bad many think the main point is "hypocrisy of religion" ...

I think this alters too much the heart of the novel and even of the movie.

It's about a tragedy of a romantic character to which Hugo gives autobiographical features, not a satire of society.

  • @MAnnaconduit1

I probably feel that way about the movie because I've read the novel before watching it.

  • in the book, frollo grows genuinely attached to quasimodo since he is the closest thing to family he had.

  • IF this guy was real then the world would be a terrible place.

  • along with sleeping beauty, this is my favorite movie of all :) I like Frollo's voice. It's very low!

  • pauvre Frollo, he is really in a sexual drama, maybe is happening to so many clergymen

  • The thing is about Frollo is that he has no magic powers but he is probebly the most scary and realistic villain in Disney and he gives my goosbumps whenever I watch this amazing film!!

  • Frollo is probably the darkest Disney character, He really gives me the creeps though I don't know why....

  • @donteatmycheese1

because the sight of Evil, maybe. In this case in relation with a sexual dramatic thirst not well resolved.

  • The way that Disney showed Frollo was pretty accurate to the books. Expect well maybe for the fact his own life wasn't easy, he had an idotic brother. You felt some pity for him, just a tad in the book. The book I highly reccommend, beware its much darker than the movie lol.

  • By far one of Dinsey's most epic movies. However I'm dissapointed its not one of the more well-known like Lion King, Snow White, Sleaping Beauty, etc. Very, very deep and well made characters, especially Frollo. Very good meaning and theme to it. And its different then most disney because it has Depth. Back when Disney, mind the expression, Had balls to say words like Hell and Damnation is why this film, is one of the greats!

  • This scene is so amazing..

  • Comment removed

  • this movie is my favorite of disney films. Mostly because the amazing job they did on conveying the original story written by victor hugo.

  • @idroodit They did do a pretty good job, except for the fact that Quasimodo and Esmerelda die in the original book. But of course I understand why seeing how it's a childrens movie (for children :P)

  • Rated G :P

  • @SurfingSwampert

Rated PG in Australia. At least, that's what I heard.

  • It's because of films like these that Disney Channel doesn't deserve to operate under the name of the mouse.

  • @TheBlackPhoenix100

And before you guys misunderstand, I'm praising the film, not hacking it. This is my second favourite Disney film, next to Fantasia.

  • Tony Jay<3 He was amazing, May he rest in peace.

  • I wish there was a villain like Frollo in Assassin's Creed.

  • Frollo is THE most sinister disney villain of all

  • Hellfire is a great song

  • i wanna kik dis perverts ass in kingdom hearts dream drop distance, thumbs up if u agree

  • @mianmohammad Frollo may appear in the next KH game, but Tony Jay died :(

  • @mianmohammad There is only one BIG problem. WHO IS GOING TO VOICE FROLLO IN KINGDOM HEARTS 3D? Tony Jay, the voice of Frollo, passed away a long time ago and there is no one who could be in his shoes. Tony is the only one who can voice a badass villain like Frollo.

  • @CosplayDiva The most likely choice is Corey Burton because: 1) He has done Frollo's voice since 2006 2) He has done voices for other disney villains in KH

  • @peddle1993

if you watch star wars the clone wars, corey does the voice of count Dooku, the first time i heard it i was like that is either tony jay or Christopher lee, but it was corey burton so if he did voice frollo that would be perfect.

  • @MAnnaconduit1 Yeah Corey Burton does have a wide range of voices so I think Square Enix will get him to do some of the voices for the disney villains that there voice actors are either retired or dead like Claude Frollo, the ringmaster in Dumbo, Ratigan if they do a Great Mouse Detective world and McLeach if they do a Rescuers Down Under world

  • @peddle1993

I think great voice actors for them would be Alan Rickman (Claude Frollo), Al Pacino (Ratigan), and Stephen Lang (McLeach), although they will be cost a pretty penny to hire lol...

  • @peddle1993

No one has done Frollo's voice since Tony Jay passed in 2006. Nothing has been done where Frollo speaks anyway. As for the new KH game, the voice actor for Frollo has already been chosen, the dialogue already recorded. It's Jim Cummings who has that honor. I was told this directly from him personally. I am quite excited to see how well he portrays this amazing character. He & Tony have worked together so I'm sure Tony would approve of this choice.

  • @ChristineJ16 I was just going by what I saw on a lot of websites for Frollo and I heard there was this show called The Adventures of Cody and Penny and Frollo was one of the villains on it but I'm not sure if that show actually exists or not as I haven't seen it

  • @CosplayDiva How about Tim Curry?

  • @TeamRocket2010 Hmmm... or Jeromy Irons.

  • @CosplayDiva Alan Rickman of course! ;)

  • @mianmohammad Ya hopefully he will be a boss for Sora. I'm looking forward to see Corey Burton do his voice

  • symbolic ending. like god and lucifer.

as lucefer got banished from heaven and plunged into hell, so did frollo.

    godly-justice.

  • @swedichboy1000 I call it divine punishment.

  • i know Frollo is like an extremely great villain

but he's soo scary and to serious for me x . x

thats why Scars my favorite since he really evil and have sarcastic humor

and Hades is my second cause he shows ALOT of humor

but at least Frollo video starts with an epic song, unlike the other villain videos xDDD

  • @vaness96

I think everyone has their own ideals about villains; that's why I love Disney villains; they're so diverse. Like for example, Frollo and Maleficent are great villains to me because of their scariness and that is what I look for in a villain, something which genuinely terrifies me. But at the same time, I love Yzma from 'Emperor's New Groove' because she is one of the only Disney villains who I love while not taking them seriously at all. It depends on what you look for.

  • Claude Frollo is the best disney villain.

  • And another Disney Villain falls to his death.

  • I FEEL ME, I SEE ME, THE SAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUN CAUGHT IN ME

    DESTROY THE SUN, MARIA

  • Comment removed

  • Hey, Quazi! Paris is burning to a crisp, so LET'S SING A SONG ABOUT LOVE! Don't look kids, there's a plot outside!

  • this movie seems rather...."dark" for a disney childrens film. I don't recall it being this sinister. "This is no child, but an unholy demon...i'm sending it back to HELL where it belongs"......REALLYY???? I can't believe they got away with that. This makes me really miss the old traditional handrawn disney films. They were a lot darker and more sophisticated back then.

  • @SageofSorrow I think this was their attempt at hitting a more adult audience, and perhaps is the greatest attempt. But sadly the name makes that attempt a failure immediately. But not too many kids would get the love triangle, the messages inside of the messages, etc. This is a fantastic piece of animated film.

  • @SageofSorrow if you really want dark, just look at the book this movie was based on.

  • @SageofSorrow

Have you seen "The Black Cauldron". The villain itself, The Horned King doesn't speak that much, but his artwork is just, out of place in comparison to other Disney Villians. He doesn't look cartoonish, he looks like he's straight from the darkest artists who worked on Lord of The Rings or Magic: The Gathering etc.

  • @SageofSorrow Yeah. It's a pretty light story when you consider esmeralda was like 13 when the real story took place, and the captain never returned her love. Quasi died guarding her grave.

  • @SageofSorrow I know. In fact, some Americans consider "gypsy" to be an offensive term.

  • @SageofSorrow This movie is dark, but there are worse. Example: Watership Down.

  • That would have been an epic faceplant at 1:16!

  • ...Claude Frollo looks little bit like Christopher Walken. Now... this is just my opinion or is it?

  • Frollo is a sick, sick man.

    MY HERO

  • @027220 Lol yeah haha.

  • @missmuggledetector I'm not saying it's 'funny,' I'm saying it's true. Plus, Jafar stole the lamp, took over Agrabah, became a powerful sorcerer, then a snake. I say no more.

  • @027220 Personally, I don't like more funny vilians like Jafar, so I don't like him that much. Frollo would be second only to Maleficent. Why I like Frollo so much is that he has no special powers at all, yet has so much control nonetheless and is truly evil and classy.

  • @missmuggledetector They common rank for 'em is Super villain.

  • @027220 Good lord, I know that and that's what I consider Frollo - even without special magic or whatever.

  • @missmuggledetector Exactly.

  • @missmuggledetector I love how he genuinely thinks he is a good person. The thing with Maleficent is that she actually admitted she was evil ("mistress of all evil", "all the powers of hell").

  • @ecermusic That's what I like about him; he's utterly blinded by his own ways, not realizing he's worse than the lot of the people he chases. He thinks he's better then them by being his worst.

  • he is clearly the most evil villian ever

  • @canderson2750 Not as powerful as Jafar.

  • @027220 yes he is he actually killed someone Jafar never did that

  • @canderson2750 Frollo doesn't carry a mind controling staff.

  • @027220 but Frollo doesent have to see Jafar relies on magic too much thats his weakness

  • @canderson2750 It worked for him when he used it to get the Sultan's ring.

  • On Kingdom Hearts 3D I don't know if Frollo will use the Heartless or use not.

  • @ryomi96 I think he IS a heartless, like Scar!

  • @ryomi96 possibly, considering how unstable of a character he is. (he seems to have alot of inner conflict, meaning his heart would be weak and easily manipulated by the darkness) all i know is that he is one sick, twisted bastard, and may very well be the anti-christ.

  • @ryomi96 Another question is whose going to voice him now that Tony Jay is dead or are they just going to make the disney characters like they did in 358/2 Days and Re: Coded

  • @peddle1993 Alan Rickman or Jeremy Irons would be good.

  • So eerie, so cold; such a chilling, cryptic voice; so realistically vile...gosh I love this guy!

  • Anyone who calls himself virtuous is a IDIOT. Only others can judge virtue.

  • 1. Maleficent

    2. Frollo

    3. Jafar

    4. Scar

    5. Ursula

  • This guy was one scary ass mofo.
