  • Is this game harder than Dark Souls?

  • @gilgamesh310 I haven't played Dark Souls so I can't say, sorry!

  • @gilgamesh310

God Hand on hard is harder than Dark Souls.

  • i've been playing this game for 4 years. seriously, it never gets old!

  • I never heard of this game when it came out and ive seen it a few times on the psn store and i was wondering exactly what it was then i watched this vid and i bought it and im very glad i did. thanx kazuyasays ^-^

  • @heysteave Awesome! Glad you found it informative, let me know if you need any help with it

  • great job I'm convinced. as soon as I finish up some of my backlog I'm getting this off the psn store.

  • @metroidcam Hell yeah! If you need any help with the game, shoot me a message, it's hardcore and has no tutorial...

  • Fucking hot female enemies in this game. ;3!!!!!!!!!

  • @ugforthewin Yeah, I think so too - not one of the key selling-points for me, but they did a good job

  • 2 fat guy who falls down everytime disliked this video :_0

  • this is one of top game of ps2, i can still play this game all day and night long!!!!!

  • best game ever made

  • Its hard... but its fair! Best game ever, nice review dude. This game is a masterpiece.

  • @ricyorb Hell yeah! Thanks man :) I made fan site for the game too, which is godhandfan if you want to take a look. The game needs more support

  • @kazuyasays Oh you created that site? I checked it out yesterday and its awesome. The sad thing is I dont really think we will ever get a God Hand 2 since Mikami isnt working for Capcom anymore. He and Inaba were the reason that game was so awesome. The closest thing we will get right now is Anarchy Reigns, idk if you have seen it, its from Platinum games the guys that used to be Clover. Well at least we got a psn release and that is better than nothing.

  • @ricyorb Thanks! Well, Mikami says that he will make another game like God Hand one day - so it won't be Gene and the same story, instead it will be like how they made Bayonetta after Devil May Cry. So there is hope! Yeah I am looking forward to Anarchy Reigns, though it looks to be very different to God Hand, and won't stop me campaigning.

  • @kazuyasays I thought Mikami was directing just one more game and he was done, thats what I read. It would be a dream come true if we ever get a God Hand 2. Hope to see you around in Anarchy Reigns.

  • @kazuyasays

    perfect review.

and yes the fact that you have to dodge in real time

depending on what's going is one of the main reason

why that game is so awesome.

i'd love to see some type of god hand online,

    no weapons allowed,

  • @GARLlCjr Thanks man :) Yeah, online would be amusing, but I think it would only really work as co-op. If it's vs, imagine any amount of lag, and then your dodges are screwed up, so I don't think it would be very skillful or rewarding

  • @kazuyasays

    well i guess you're right... ;)

always had the chance to have a very low ping

i guess that's why i didnt think about that issue...

def jam icon had an interesting dodging system

but the game was slow as hell...

    nothing like god hand...

    maybe one day...

  • first thought: so, the reason why this is awesome... is you get to punch and kick people in the crotch?

Secodn thought: ASDFKLSJF:SLKDJ THIS IS SO AWESOME!

  • @cjme1 Thanks! You got the game?

  • @kazuyasays no, sadly, i do not have a psp or ps3. but just by this i can tell it is AWESOME

  • @cjme1 Damn, no PS2 either?

  • @kazuyasays that i do have

  • @cjme1 Do it son, you can still find used copies for the PS2!

  • Great video. Also, your voice reminds me alot of Garth Marenghi's hahaha.

  • @CraigBarduk Cheers, I take that as a compliment :)

  • Great review. Though I disagreed with the part about the game always being fair... Hard Mode threw all notions of fairness out the window. Some of the endurance sections were just hair-tearingly awful. Normal, definitely hit the difficulty sweet spot though~

  • @Shinkada Well, Normal mode has the balanced difficulty. The Hard mode is stuck at Die, so no matter how difficult you find it, it doesn't let up. You can still beat the game on Hard mode using reasonable tactics, not relying on glitches or luck, so to me, that is fair - though it's really really hard. The odds are stacked against you, that's for sure, it's definltely not fair in terms of enemy health and damage they deal etc.

  • @kazuyasays I think a lot of luck is involved with certain sections... The ~5 waves of enemies in the Pyramid and the final areas just outside the tower come to mind. Y'know, tons of waves/groups of enemies with projectiles they can throw at your back from the other side of the map with no checkpoint in between! Craziness.

  • @Shinkada It's hard for sure, but there are ways of doing it. Re: projectiles, they have audio cues for when they're about to fire, so have warning, and you can aim to take those enemies out first. I'd say that against crowds of enemies, the dodge-sweep is relied on way too much, there should be other ways to handle them. I agree they are harsh with checkpoints, the most irritating for me was first time you face Joe in mission 6, you have to deal with so many other enemies before him...

  • @kazuyasays Joe... *Shudder* There are certainly ways of doing it. I did manage to beat the game on Hard eventually. You just had to take a lot of the fun out of the game to do it, imo. :3

  • @Shinkada Yeah definitely agree. Basically removes the usability of a lot of moves. I think it is there as a challenge for OCD types and purists etc. Normal mode can be just as much of a challenge if you are good enough to keep in on Die, but if you come across true frustration, it comes down, so I think for most people, Normal is more enjoyable. It's like DMD mode on DMC, for most people it's just a pain in the ass, but it's good that it's there for those who want that extra challenge

  • @kazuyasays DMC3 at least... DMC4's DMD was so easy I didn't even need to adjust my play style at ALL. >:|

  • @Shinkada Yeah, DMC4 wasn't the same kind of game, I was disappointed, played it through then sold it right away :( still play DMC3 and God Hand to this day though!

  • @kazuyasays Mm... I can't play DMC3 anymore though. As much as DMC4 shitted me, Red Queen was such a great design, and style swapping felt like such a basic need when I tried to go back. Stupid shitty games ruining older good games!

  • @Shinkada Well those two things were good! Not enough to sell me on it. They ditched a lot from DMC3, and while it had the style-switching, it didn't have as many weapons etc, and so the style switching, whilst adding variety, didn't add anything actually new, just combinations of old stuff. Really, I believe that they should never have added Nero, instead just give Devil Bringer to Dante as a new style. Plus keep all his old weapons, guns and styles, rather than cater for casual audience.

  • @kazuyasays I agree totally. As I said, DMC3 was definitely better, but playing it without style switching felt like playing Sonic without spindash.

  • I bought this game a month ago and beat it a week ago. It's a pain in the ass, difficult game. And I loved every minute that I played it.

  • @magnasmash293 Fantastic, are you going to play through again, or on HARD MODE!?

  • @kazuyasays I will play again, and I suppose Hard Mode is an option. I wonder how many times I'll die this time?

  • @magnasmash293 Loading your normal game save means that all the moves are in the shop from the start, and new over-powered ones too. Hard mode is a serious challenge, but if you plan your roulette moves and God Hand useage properly, it's not too bad...

  • I just bought this on the psn. Downloading it now, cant wait

  • @RollingzokuMR2 Kick ass, have you played it before?

  • Thanks for the mash up video

  • Just downloaded from PSN. the

  • @mrhappysad HELL YEAH!!

  • Just bought this today for $5, feel so fortunate to have found it :D

  • @pugsarecool19 Dude, you won't be disappointed, let me know how you get on with it

  • thanks for the vid mate, you've definitely convinced me to look more into the game

  • @TheHunter14792 Fantastic! Anything you want to know, just ask

  • This was a great review. You sir, have convinced me to get it for the PSN.

  • @KiwiLovin7 Fantastic, good to hear it. Need any tips, shoot me a message, it's hardcore

  • He forgot to note that your Godhand meter fills up while you dodge. (By pressing up on the right Analogstick)

  • @DieHardjagged I didn't forget anything son, I commented on everything on the entire game, then realised that it was too long and cut back on the stuff that wasn't entirely necessary to explain why the game is good. There are about another hundred or so things i like about the game, but these are the things that make it stand out to me. God Hand Meter filling up is the same as DT in DMC and other games like that, standard really

  • @DieHardjagged Its Ok =D

  • I don't usually watch 8 minutes long reviews, but this time I haven't even realized that I watched the whole thing

  • @Bananamatic Thanks man :)

  • Good review. But you are ignoring the anime influence. There's a lot of Fist of the North Star (Hoku no Ken) in there for instance.

  • @harizotoh7 Thanks - well I didn't plan to ignore that aspect, just wanted to keep it concise. The original vid went on a bit, and I clipped it down to what was really necessary

  • If you dont have PS2 or PS3, you can buy a copy of PS2 God Hand and emulate it on the PC. It runs perfectly on the PS2 emulator.

  • By god man, once I get past your accent, you sound like randall from "clerks".

  • @mattone Hey, you think so? That's pretty awesome!

  • Just brought it from the psn ;D

  • @Sozuill Yes! Tell me how it goes!

  • Godhand is now on PSN for $10

Everyone needs to buy this game now, no excuse for not playing it.

  • @GrandmasterX Word!

  • downloading this 2day on psn along with maximo. not sure how they gunna look on my led tv being just ports, but hey dosnt matter rearly they both got gr8 gameplay

  • @acedude63 Cool, let me know how it plays on the PSN

  • Captures everything that made GodHand amazing. Bravo.

  • @omlp Thanks man - although I realise now I left out a few things... but I can't just keep talking about the game forever!

  • >RE4 gets ported for the dozenth time

    >Capcom continues to pretend that God Hand doesn't exist

    Muh.

  • @Urb4nZ0mb13 Yeah... I love RE4, but the HD port in itself looks like it was a missed opportunity to do something awesome. I'd just about shit in my pants if they did a God Hand port

  • @kazuyasays I've cooked up my own God Hand "HD port". Haha.

You've probably heard but God Hand is being released on PSN tomorrow for 10 dollars. It's not in HD, just a straight up port. An incredible price point, however. I'm going to tell everyone I know that they no longer have an excuse not to check it out.

  • @Urb4nZ0mb13 Yeah I don't have a PS3 - but I am thinking of even paying some people to get it, for me to show support for the game, and for them to have it and play it

  • @kazuyasays It's pretty hilarious how just 2 days ago I was just saying how Capcom pretends God Hand doesn't exist, and now its being ported. Seems like an act of god.

  • @Urb4nZ0mb13 I know dude, I was thinking about this today. How's it even possible? Maybe Sony was the instigator, because they're talking about PS2 games specifically, not Capcom games? Dunno how they decided on God Hand though

  • @Urb4nZ0mb13 Capcom tried to put Gene into MVC3, but he was not compatible with the gameplay system

  • @Beldyne Do you have an article where they say that? Last thing I heard was that they just said they didn't think he would work, not that they tried

  • Still hoping for a remastered version. If this game were available on Ps3 or 360 it might get the attention it deserves!

  • @Kashika9 Yeah, definitely. I think that people see it as a great inconvenience to get their PS2 out, or buy an old PS2 game. Having it in a downloadable format would make it easy to get hold of and play on this generation, and it's appeal would be obvious.

  • "... douchebags!"

  • Good work man, God Hand is a brilliant, i played the game for two years, because of the incredible depth and almost endless possiblites within this game mechcanics i felt could learn the game inside out because of my commitment to Devil May Cry 1 and 3 but this game is dazzling, intricate yet funny, the fact that you have less then 1,500 on such a stellar review on shows the simpleness of and general sheep mentality of gamers these days where a game with depth or creativity is not appreciated

  • @rosengalionheart Hey, thanks. Yes, and what I find most frustrating of all is that this game introduced some 100% new mechanics to the video game world (the specific dodges to allow you to stay close, the dynamic difficulty, and the fully cuztomizable move set) BUT, developers have unanimously ignored these ideas. When you look at DMC, it's easy to see how it has shaped other games, but with God Hand, it's like it never happened, even though this is what other game should aim for!

  • This video wins on so many levels - I can't believe I haven't seen this before! O_o

  • @Saur Thanks!

  • I love this game and some of the challenges make me die alittle inside sometimes xD like the 10 seconds i think to kill 3 guys where they one hit you I did it once and then my brother turned off the game I was sooo pissed xD i wanted to kill him but its great that it challenges you so even if any real gamer will cuss and be pissed at times they will still love it and play it time and time again

  • @zdante1 Yeah man. That challenge is nasty. I think that in some states it is legal to kill someone for turning off your console, might be something to look into

  • The english accent goes surprisingly well with this vid review.

  • @Sixchomp Thanks :)

  • this is like the most hardcore video game review i have seen ... you shuold do more ... lol ..

  • @hentaipanda07 Hey thanks! Maybe I will :)

  • lol its been about 5 years since god hands release date and im still playing it having a lot of laughs i scream in anger as im getting my balls pounded, love the commedy and hey! i own 2 copies of it looool

  • @fossiltiger Highfive! I am thinking of getting more copies, to boost sales, but also just in case I scratch mine. Imagine not being able to play it anymore, fuck. I'm working on a new fan site for the game if you are interested; godhandfan. Thanks for watching the vid :)

  • @fossiltiger it will be 5 years this October

  • fucking awesome review! God Hand definitely is one of the best games I've ever played! Too bad that we probably won't see a sequel because CAPCOM thinks this game was a massive failure in case of sales.

  • @Matrimelee Thanks dude. Yep, that's right, but if Capcom did do it they'd only screw it up anyway. I'm interested in the new game from Platinum Games! Maybe it'll have some aspects from Godhand.

  • @kazuyasays Hmm... some kind of mix betweeen God Hand and MadWorld, but with online multiplayer?

  • It is easily the most satisfying game ever made. Not perfect, not pretty, but satisfying as all hell. You will be laughing and enjoying yourself while playing the entire game. Honestly, isnt that all that matters?

  • i swear for all my 30 years of gaming, God hand ( Hard mode ) is the most hardcore beat'em'up EVER, So much fun n challenge in this game, am still playing it, i really hope they release godhand 2 :X

  • @Un533N Hell yeah. In terms of difficulty, perhaps DMC3 on DMD mode is harder, but there's not much out there that is anywhere as near as Godhand on Hard

  • God Hand needs a sequel simply because WE NEED MORE BEAT EM UPS!!! Capcom needs to get off Street Fighter's dick and make a God Hand 2 or a new 3D Final Fight (5 Star Style Work not Streetwise). Snatch the rights for Double Dragon and remake that with a Final Fight twist or something. The best genre died after God Hand and Beat Down.

  • @ShunjianDaRhapsodos Yeah but it's Capcom who has the rights to Godhand, not the original team. So I am sure that if Capcom made a sequel, it'd be balls. I'd rather see Platinum games, or whatever they will now become, design a new game similar to Godhand, like they did with Bayonetta

  • @kazuyasays That's a good idea. But you know they probably think that God Hand lives on in Ken's Rage.

  • ign doesnt know a good game if it shot em in the balls

  • @Ciara203 Nope, and I'd do that for free

  • @Ciara203 hahaha ain't that the damn truth

  • How have I never heard of this? Did you mention what platform it's for?? Looks like it's worth a wank.

  • @TheRealGaffer It wasn't well publicized and got naff reviews, not many units were sold :( It is for the PS2, was out in 2006

  • "Dragon Kick your ass into the Milky Way." Brilliant. Might have to get a copy of this, I love a good beat 'em up.

  • @therealzomb Yes! But be ready for getting your head kicked in, it is one of the toughest games out there son, learning curve is vertical

  • Yahhhhh. I just beat this game on hard mode a few months ago. Freaking amazing.

  • @TIDUSisEASY Woo! Glad other people are still playing this game :D

  • Dominatrices? Is that the correct pluralization?

  • @KydDragon Yeah dude :)
