I have a question about 91s. Why is it that on the lights of the 91s is there all 4 head lights on, I thought that only 3 are supposed to be on? In all my times of seeing the 91s they have had all 4 lights on, all struck me as strange.

This colour scheme is nice but it's nothing compared to GNER's Blue and red

I'm glad these things got a bit of TLC and I think they look pretty good! Those 225 sets still had all that blue paint from GNER with the white stripe livery! It looked like a guy had just got a roll of tape and let the train set off with that old NEEC/EC one.

i remember when i worked on this set back to leeds and it failed at peterbrough.you ask the crews its a bad train to work on.

its about time that br 225 ( class91 with mark 4 and dvt ) was repainted fro mthat manky blue with a red or white strip ! whoo finally ! i thort ill never see the day this was goina happen .. thankyou eastcoast !!!

Oooh blimey its a bit...er...bright! Not sure if I like it or not, but its about as far away from GNER blue as you can get!!!!! I fear it will look horrid on the HSTs though.

@soundseeker63 In the flesh dosen't seem so bright, but i guess depends what the lighting conditions are like at the time of viewing. Be intresting to see as regards the HST's.

People seem to have the wrong idea about this livery - it isn't East Coast's new livery - they haven't spent loads of money on consultants advising them on the livery. The livery was specified by DfT - it's part of the new franchise process - to STOP everyone spending stupid amounts of money on rebranding; you have a base color and you stick small embelishments on such as logo, lining, etc. The reason the East Coast set was done first is because they are operated by Directly Operated Railways

@hurtylfc We've spotted them in the works a while back during the repainting. Could only see a small part of 2 coaches. They'd done the base colour, but still had to do some other bits on the out side.

That is a pretty nice livery - similar to the WSMR livery (minus the grey), better than the NXEC livery :D
