love this song! You should check out a band called MODERN FACES seen them supporting Kasabian in June, they are amazing, look young defo worth checking out. xx
love the slick back look of the hair. nice! love the music of course! and when you're divorcing there certainly ain't no easy way out. very-of-the-times-song for me.
Muse are a fucking amazing band with 3 insanely talented members, though i can understand if southern rock is your thing how art-space rock may seem very odd
@tvrulesnation Thanks for your reply. I think Muse are an incredibly talented band. But their last couple of albums have been mainstream rubbish. I don'tblame a band for selling out but i was disagreeing with a comment made about muse "standing put against all the mainstream crap". Bands like MUSE and Kings of Leon have produced nothing but rubbish for the last few years.
I can understand Resistance due to how it was critically met by fans, but anything before that to call mainstream rubbish is a sin :P Black Holes was fucking amazing.
Besides any band that has a big fuck off orchestra & a 3 part symphony is far from mainstream rubbish to me, all mainstream denotes is a band that is known to the general public. Iggy Pop is mainstream too, As for them selling out i'd completely disagree. I have the same argument with Biffy Clyro fans too bout this
As in some Biffy fans argue about them ''selling out'' due them (like muse) gaining a bigger fan-base and using various media to promote their music (Twilight/X-factor).
I completely disagree with thinking Biffy or Muse have sold out, mainstream yes. As i said mainstream just denotes that the band is known by the general public ie its not ''underground'' like BRMC would be.
I would agree that Biffy haven't sold out, and it really pisses me off to hear people who just won't accept their new stuff. Although, I would say that, amazing as Puzzle was, Only Revolutions is probably their weakest album.
Having said that, it's still great, and they really gained a lot of fans through it.
Personally I hope for heavier stuff next time round, but then I'm me. Something with the charm of IL but the intelligence of Puzzle would be perfect
Ay 100% agree though O.R had some of their fucking strongest tracks like ''golden rule/Cloud of stink/Help me be captain (B-side from Lonely revolutions much better than the radio shite version)'' it was different but in a good way, RHCP (huge fan of them) did the same thing with some of their albums & it has only resulted in keeping their sound fresh.
I'm just happy as long as their music is crashing cymbals with fucked time signatures left right & centre
@tvrulesnation Well said. I must admit, I really did like That Golden Rule, Help Me Be Captain and Whorses. Maybe Born on a Horse too. As for the rest... well, I liked it, I just didn't love it in quite the same way as I have loved Biffy.
And that last sentence pretty much sums up my view of Biffy too. As long as they are still going, I am convinced that they will one day take over the world.
Cheers, i've debated many indie fans who jumped the band-wagon once their fan base increased & slaughtered their arguments.
Their tour in America seems to be going good, certainly a band that aspiring musicians can look to. But here unfortunately this is a BRMC video & we've been filling it up with Biffy Clyro related talk, think we should leave the replies at this & just enjoy the fucking music on this page :P
I don't know why music like this is avoided by the radio. The best theory I have is that before the 90s more radio stations were owned by individual companies and some of those were mom and pop radio stations and that allowed more freedom ans more ability for new music styles to break through. Now it's a handful of companies and the only play a few old songs on the radio and they don't want to make waves and scare old people or something.
@SupernautG It's marketing as far as I can tell. This music would lose all credence if it was attached to a brand, where as pop music is built purely on branding. Doesn't matter what you are selling, even if it's just the radio/tv station that's playing it. Playing the repetitive crap re-asserts the branding aspects of everything involved, even just a lifestyle that means keeping up to date with the latest track. This promotes the opposite ideals. It's anti-establishment and doesn't make money.
@Norm1011616 Whatever it is I have the feeling I am missing out on great music and bands just because I don't know where to listen to them. In fact I am getting my tune knowledge from commercials or tv shows using a song track which is sad.
@SupernautG Only thing I can suggest is listen to as many live acts as possible and maybe get involved in local bands in your area. It's hard these days man, and it's not that I think there is necessarily less talent or music to choose from, it just gets drowned out by all the crap. We live in a time that has more artistic crap than any other time. Art is subjective but in this era everyone needs their mate to like their music too and if the dislike bar is too high then they aren't interested.
@Norm1011616 Anyone who decides what music to listen to based on the length of a like bar is dumb as dirt (but still smarter than those relying on commercial media). Whatev, I just fed 'em another thumbs up.
@Darioauli I gotta admit, with all this mainstream bullshit everywhere, Muse really stands up to be the best among all that crap. But BRMC is really unique and nostalgic.
@irotinmyskin listen to dead star, stockholm syndrome or the small print... not really electro pop. dont assume that they're new stuff is anything like their old stuff they change in every single album
@SoulinThGuitar as a muse fan i must say muse is dead,(u only mentioned absolution and blackholes stuff) when The Resistance came out i tought thats was rock bottom, nothing could be worse, but then came Neutro Star Collision or that crap, and MUSE died to me. LONG LIVE THE DAYS OF Philip, Hate this and i´ll love you, Plug in Baby, Nishe, Pink Ego Box, or Unintended
