You can teach a beagle to clean your house, do your laundry and shopping and baby sit your kids if you have enough treats. Very smart dogs. Mine keeps Elephants out of my back yard. Some may say there are no Elephants in Virginia, but I say that only happened because Sadie is here!!!! She is the best!!

It takes time. Beagles are known to be the most stubborn dogs. And plus they have ADD when it comes to going outside because they can't control their nose. I taught my beagle on how to grab a snack and eat it on command, how to shake left and right hand, sit. Just stick with one lesson at a time. Don't jump to different tricks.
@heat4yoass Yeah, well I have taught Odin how to sit, lay down, shake hand, high five, jump, stand on two legs, and im working on making him close drawers in the kitchen... the last one is tricky but he did it perfect like five times yesterday but today he just sits there staaring at me :P But it take a long time...
