  • Oh ok I thought it was an ebow cause they create the same type of sound but yours has more control then an ebow. Still sounds cool though.

  • Are you using a ring modulator for the intro of this song or an ebow? If your using a ring modulator please tell me which one it sounds nice. Also It sounds like you are using the auto volume setting on the Dl4.

  • Nop no ring modulator, no ebow and no auto volume effect. Its basically a standard quarter note digital delay with some reverb and a ernie ball volume pedal to create the volume swell manually.

  • I really prefer this track to those on your your EP. This is awesome! I'd love to hear another 7 minutes of it to see where it's going. It kinda has an 'Explosions in the Sky' feel to it.

  • There is another 7minutes of it on youtube, there is a link in the video description. Its a rough version when we first startting writing vocal melodies. Worth a listen. The middle breakdown section is the best part

  • I gave it a listen too. I love it! I've been working at a similar sound myself. I wouldn't be surprised if you loved Radiohead.

I'm still waiting for my DL4 which happens to be on order. I've been told that it'll change my guitar playing drastically.

Anyways, keep writing songs cause your videos are awesome.

  • Great, glad you enjoyed it. Yup I am a huge Radiohead fan, so its bound to shine thru in my song writing.

You'll like the DL4, but it will take you a while to get to grips with it and get the best from it. Be patient!!!

  • Nice. Well I plan to travel to Scotland this summer so I hope to see you guys touring by then!

I'd like to get my hands on the Line 6 FM4 as well. It looks like it can produce some interesting sounds.

  • Great stuff man, these vids are helping me learn about the types of delay im looking for as i plan on buying a pedal

  • u guys have a nice vibe in your music

    keep it up

  • hey craigmcarthur1,

i enjoyed your posts of the Line6 DL4... uber cool tunes and style man... what is your opinion on the DL4 .v. boutique delays e.g. Replica or Memory Lane?... i need a kick arse delay for live, loud performance

    regards

    sexyberger

  • It really depends what your after really. The boutique pedals your talking about are analog and will produce that warm natural delay some people require of their rig. The DL4 is digital and uses a digita approximation of what boutique pedals sound like, so wont give u the same feel. But it does have a load of different delay tones, and if you get the Keeley modified version it sounds great

  • cheers craigmcarthur1, you made such a cool, simple statement that no salesman has seemed to offer me yet... analogue .v. digital...

thanks once again and keep on posting

    regards

  • What does the mod do?

  • I think i just found my new favorite band

  • Cool, glad you enjoy the track

  • omaigod this is soooooo coooooollllll

  • Thank you

  • i stumbled on your vids looking for a dl4 demo cause im getting one tomorrow. I must say, your band is like a breath of fresh air. Very nice sound. Hope you guys score a major deal. Take care. Peace.

  • Thank you fo the very kind words. Hope you have fun with your DL4 when it arrives. Cheers

  • You guys have to be one of my new favorite bands haha. I love your sound, its the osund I've personally shot for. Im 15 and im starting to get into music alot lately. How do you pull of the arid guitar sounds with the delay? Im planning on getting a boss gt10 as alike a starting rig, what would you guys think about that?

  • Yeh thats sounds like a great starting point. Multi fx are a great introduction to effects use as you will have a ton of effects to play around with. You'll learn which ones u liek and how to use them to produce your own tone.

Delay use is just practice and tweaking to ge the best from your gear.

Thanks for the kind words about the band.

  • awesome video guys! you're getting an awesome sound out of that. what settings do you have with the flextone there?

  • Thanks. Settings wise I have no idea. ONe of the drawbacks of these amps is once the settings are dialled in and saved, a few months goes past and you forgot what they were!

  • haha so true!

I've got a VOX valvetronix and I've got a cool sound coming out of it but sometimes I just want to tweak it a bit and then I mess it up and it gets annoying... lol

In the end would you recommend the flextone? I'm lookin into getting one myself =)

  • Yeh I would. All three of us have Flextones. We also all play various Mesa Boogie amps and other tube amps. But all would very much recommend the flextone range, good amps for the money. I still use mine everyday!

Dont let gear snobs put you off!

  • Really cool! ... Sounds very special, but at the same time- it plays simple! nice!

  • Tu Muchachos es muy bueno

  • sounds kind of psychedelic very cool!!

  • you can really pull off those volume swells sounds. love it. are you guys coming up with a record? would love to hear it. wish you best.

  • Cheers man, yeh we do alot of stuff like that in our tracks. We have just recorded our first EP 'Airport Syndrome' which will be available on cd or from itunes in the autumn. Thanks

  • You guys are just scratching the surface. That DL4 has sounds in it that sound better than all the best church organs in the world combined playing their best slice. But I didnt write down the settings. I dont think the sound engineers know it. damit!!

  • Not sure what u mean dude?

  • Cheers, clena in this video is coming from a Line 6 Flextone surprisngly. In my live rig I use a Hiwatt 100 Head, so i have the Line 6 matching that tone the best I can.

For nice clean, u just need an amp with plenty of headroom dude. So the more power the better. So you can push the power amp tubes to get lots of volume without having to push the pre amp tubes which will produce overdrive.

  • nice groove lads...keep it up!

  • nice

  • You guys are great

I was just searching for videos of the pedal, but you guys are really good

I've just been getting into a whole ton of God is an Astronaut and other post rock bands so it's right up my alley

    myspace?

  • Thanks dude, the myspace address can be found in he video description. Thanks

  • cool song!!! wheee.

  • :O does someone say "Anus" at the 6 second mark?

  • Haha, yes I believe Gary, the other guitarist did!

  • Wow! Sound very cool? How do you do that "violin" sound? Are you using a volume knob/pedal on that?

  • Yeh volume pedal dude
