    ich habe ein BIld irgenwo (this is still goldensorrow's mother. they were lovely young women in their twenties and toured the world with this group. es tut mir leid mein deutsch ist nicht so gut...ich verstehe aber habe wenige woerter..ich wohne in vereinigten staaten. ich habe nur die schallplatte Cuban Tango.

    ich besitze eine Schellackplatte, Electrola EG 1909 mit den Titeln "Grüss mir mein Hawaii" und "Fox dei Lilas", Gesang "Edmund Fritz's Singing Babies"

    Ist das die selbe Damengruppe ?

  • Respond to this video... this is the granddaughter of the alto in the group (Fritzi Schlichter). she was born in 1900 and thus if your record is really from 1909 it can't be her. But are you sure the date isn't 1929? by the way you can also hear this group on Youtube if you search seven viennese singing sisters.

  • "The Singing Babies" is a group name. No wonder that their number of 'sisters' varied. They were better and bigger than the mere confines of Germany; no wonder they were international stars. They DO grow on you. So sweet, all their voices.

  • One of the singers is Fritzi (Friederike) Schlichter. My great grandmother. My family retains some records of the group. In the beginning of WWII (late 30s) some members went to Argentina including my great grandmother. Also a woman who's first name was Petra.
